From Ringside News:According to Alfred Konuwa, the March 16th edition of AEW Collision brought in an overnight average viewership of 377,000 viewers, with 153,000 viewers in the 18 to 49 demographic. This is a decrease compared to last week’s show, which brought in 402,000 viewers, with 147,000 viewers in the 18 to 49 demographic.
Now, we know ratings don't always equal quality (ie: Freaks and Geeks, Firefly, etc.) and there were college basketball tournaments and St. Patrick's Day weekend to provide excuses. But at this point, should Collision be moved to another night so it at least appears to be better rated. Maybe Thursday, even though it would compete with TNA. Or as an idea, would a Sunday night show bring in more ratings, with a preemption when they have a PPV. Or is everyone cool with it staying on Saturday and to heck with ratings?

I mean probably but that's the night WBD gave them. They should probably take whichever week night is left after Dynamite and WWE's 3 shows settle in. But we can also have these discussions once we have the actual numbers - not skewed overnights which only come out when WWE believes they are bad numbers and features statistically dishonest comparisons.

No, as someone in the UK, waking up every Sunday morning and putting on Collision is wonderful

You're using Alfred Konuwa, one of the worst people in wrestling media, in order to make a point? You're off to a bad start already. And you're using the fast nationals too? You are aware the fast nationals are not in fact the final ratings right?

He compres the fast nationals ratings to the final ratings of the week before, when they are in fact two different metrics that can't be compared to one another. And then there's the fact that Konuwa is a racist troll.

You are aware the fast nationals are not in fact the final ratings right? He may not know that, you can tell him about them calmer than that. Anyway, yeah, if the chance arises they certainly should take another night, but personally Collision is often pretty good for me on Saturday - I work on weekends, and 8-10pm that night is a decent chance to decompress before having to be up early on Sundays, so it's nice to grab a decent dinner, pour a round, and do just that. Thanks to that, I often get to watch it live more often than I can do so with Dynamite. But yeah, big picture? I'm sure they'd like a night with less high profile competition, a higher viewership floor, etc., but we most likely won't know what that'll look like until WWE's new deals start kicking in.

Saturday is the worst night they can do except every other night. Sunday would be bad especially once football season starts and also a headache for PPV scheduling. Granted, the relationship between AEW and TNA seems nonexistent lately, especially after D'Amore got fired, so I don't think moving a show to Thursday is as off the table as it used to be. It'd be pretty dickish, but it's not like they're betraying a friendly promotion either. Otherwise, Saturday night's the slot Warner gave them and that's something that can be discussed during their negotiations for a new TV deal. But it's not something that will be changed anytime soon in the short-term.
But yeah, Ringside News and Alfred Konuwa are a pretty sleazy combination. Fast national numbers are always real inaccurate and only reported by the likes of Konuwa to gloat when they're particularly low. Then he slithers away when the real numbers come out and are quite a bit higher.

I really didn't know, just something a friend had mentioned and I thought of asking about the night switch. Not trying to play gotcha,

I’ve always said Thursday would be perfect for them, they won’t get slaughtered by whatever PPV WWE is having on the same night and it’s a perfect end to Dynamite, like “what will Adam Cole’s response be to Wardlow’s actions? Find out TOMORROW NIGHT!”

Ol free cheese Alfred is back with the fast nationals again I see. Did not know this guy was a bad source. Just for future reference on the guy, he once had a skit where he made fake Tony Khan tweets as answers to his 'interview questions' where the punchline was Tony calling him the n word. He used to write for Bleacher Report as their WWE guy, and has his articles posted in the "Forbes Contributor" section, which is basically a freelance opinion column where people can secure topics they're 'experts' in and have their stuff printed under what looks like the prestige of Forbes when it's more of a glorified blog. He's not really trustworthy as a real wrestleguy anywhere, and it's best to ignore anything that has his name attached, especially where AEW is concerned, as total crap.

Even if objectively they should, the fact that it's Konuwa automatically means they shouldn't.

You know it's gonna be a great time when the Fast Nationals come out. The ratings metric that ONLY ever comes out when AEW ratings aren't as good as they should be!

I would honestly move to Mondays after Raw goes to Netflix. Filling a cable tv void could actually do wonders.

I hope not.
I can get home at 2 or 3am Sunday froom a show. Start uploading footage and watch Collision.
Pretty much every other night of the week has a show. And really does AEW need 3 weekly shows? Maybe cancel Rampage and move Collision to Friday?

I said once it was announced Raw was moving to Netflix they should jump to Mondays. Wrestling on Mondays has been a habit for people going 3 decades, take advantage of that. Not everyone has or will jump to streaming.

And this kind of thing is why Ringside News is on the banned sources list.

I thought this too but I feel like a lot of people would still watch Netflix and Monday Night Football will be a bitch and a half during football season I guess you have to ask yourself would you get more than 450K average moving to Monday knowing there might still be stiff competition.
