And if you look, they did all that damage in just 4 months. I mean, before that the worst news was that it would cost $600. (I don't think anyone thought it was going to launch in spring)
But damn, that's jut like, how many times can you shoot yourself in the foot.

Pretty interesting. There were six PS3s at Wal Mart tonight but no Wii. LOL!!! That's funny. Sad, but funny. And my favorite bit of news was the one about Sony's VP claiming that the Wii had no backward compatibility. What a moron.

Yeah, terrible year for Sony, but it's just the beggining of this war. They're not dying out.

In any case, Sony has a TON of ground to catch up, considering their game division, which generates 60% of their profits, is putting up a $1.5 Billion (with a B) loss so far with the PS3. There will be pressure internally as well as from shareholders for them to turn it around.
Not only that, Microsoft has topped 10M sales and Sony still doesn't have 1M not to mention Nintendo at close to 3M sales.
Also, you can find PS3s right now. In fact, people have been reporting that they can no longer get people to buy them on Ebay. In fact, I just checked and you can buy one for about as much as you would in stores. So much for the awesome demand for it. You can't find a Wii anywhere right now. On EBay they're still selling well above market price. This is really a bad sign. If people are losing interest this quickly, Sony better pull a rabbit out of it's hat quick.
I'm not saying Sony can't get themselves out of this hole, but it's a pretty damn deep hole they've dug themselves into.
I think it's time for the Sony fans to realize that their time may be up. Sony won't die, but it's looking more and more unlikely that they'll be able to win this "war"

Alsom X-box 360 has been out for at least 6 months more than PS3, so its hard to compare sales figures

It's kinda sad that I had to switch to 360 after having Sony consoles since I was like 5...They really need to get their act together though in 2007, if the PS3 delivery, i'll buy. Not that they'll care about my single sale though haha.

I think the major factor in their problem so far is the price.
The only consoles that charged around the £500 mark was CD-I, 3DO & (I think) The Jaguar, And we all know how they turned out.

Wow, I play video games but I am by no means a hardcore gamer. As such, I never realized just how hated Sony was until I started seeing it on the internet! I assume Sony is like the John Cena of video gamers? Or the "2004 Triple H" of video gamers?
All I know is I have a PS2 and a Gamecube, I play them frequently, and I think my games are fun. I have no intention of buying a PS3, a Wii, or anything else for at least another year or so.

Sony has turned into the WCW of the videogaming industry. They had a huge lead for a long time, but bad decisions coupled with the competitions awesome performances mean a heavy and quick decline.

Also, can the PS3 really be used by doctors, as one guy said before, of should that too be on the list?
