Brad Jones: His response to Change the Channel as well as him (and his wife) blaming Allison Pregler (and others) for a swatting incident. iilluminaughtii: Take your pick. JonTron: It's obvious why.

JonTron. Don't think I need to explain that one. That, and he doesn't do gaming reviews anymore and does these dumb skit shows.

Aside from the ones who did truly awful things, I used to be subscribed to That Chapter but I became increasingly uncomfortable with how often he started applauding violence against prison inmates and shit like this. Plus I felt like more and more of the jokes were getting inappropriate given the subject matters. I'm not even opposed to taking a more relaxed approach to true crime, especially since I'm not fond of channels that get overdramatic either, but there's a point where it crosses the lino into just being disrespectful. Another thing that quickly annoys me and has made me unsubscribe to a few channels is when a YouTuber starts feeling the need to take a jab at their "haters" (i.e. anyone who disagrees with them ever so slightly) or whatever social media nonsense has offended them this week when it's entirely irrelevant to the video. I tapped out and unsubscribed when they tried to pass off a joke comment from 2016 Ghostbusters as a legitimate paranormal event. Okay, now I'm curious.

Usually a host change. Like Simon Whistler left a couple of the ones he was doing and I can't stand the new guy.
Editing going to shit. This goes back to Simon but another one of his channels the editing has gotten real bad with segments repeating themselves and background music being so loud you cannot hear him.
End of the series I was watching.

A geeky pop culture channel called WhatCulture, that mainly did top 10 lists of, say, most underrated sidekicks or ‘Things You Didn’t Notice in..’ type lists. I stopped subscribing when the amount of repetition and lack of new ideas became hard to ignore.

I tapped out and unsubscribed when they tried to pass off a joke comment from 2016 Ghostbusters as a legitimate paranormal event. Okay, now I'm curious. I don't remember the name of the video or how long ago it was (at least a year, probably longer), but in one of their list videos they talked about "Langville, Montana" as a legitimate urban legend. It isn't. It's a statement made by a government agent in 2016 Ghostbusters (you might remember Kate McKinnon's character being particularly interested in it). It had no presence on the internet or among the paranormal crowd before the movie came out and the stuff afterwards is sparse and thinly detailed. Either MostAmazingTop10 didn't do any research on it at all before throwing it in their video or, more likely, they were desperate to fill the list and figured nobody would notice if they stole a forgotten line from an underperforming movie.

i was big on Majorkill till a few weeks ago. then he went full bag-of-frog-dicks on Weshammer. and while he did apologizes over the whole thing i felt like the damage was already done and moved on. Majorkill is a strange one. I do like his stuff but it's not the first time he's been really competitive with other Warhammer content creators. Some channels I have unsubscribed to. Antscanada, lovely stuff but certain events happening for clicks are a bit obvious. AEW, not for the content but the sheer volume of videos taking over my inbox. Same with WWE. Caspersight, scary video content reactor. I just found them all a bit silly. I unsubscribed to a bunch of ghost video content creators as well, like Twin Paranormal, because basically it's all bollocks. ArchWarhammer, or just just Arch now - hey, I didn't know.

I very rarely subscribe to anything but if they ever say “smash that subscribe button” then I’ll immediately unsubscribe.

I recall having been subscribed to channels with animated videos like Actually Happened, My Story Animated, True Story, etc. They are these channels that have these ludicrous stories like "My Best Friend's Mom Got Married and I Have a Problem With It" or "I Have a Crush on my Cousin who is Not Really My Cousin." Try looking up these channels. You will find the most ridiculous stories that don't seem the least bit plausible. I later unsubscribed to some of them. I think one of the reasons why I watched them was because I watched these animated videos based on scary stories found on Reddit, which are interesting. I think the scary animated stories are more interesting.
I also remember that I was getting recommendations for self-improvement YouTubers. I recall subscribing to Cole Hastings, who is actually one of the better ones and isn't that bad, but there were some videos that kind of rubbed me the wrong way after a while. As if I wasn't down on myself already at that point, but then they say things that made me feel even more inadequate. I may give him another try. However, I remember thinking Hamza, another self-improvement YouTuber, was a dick, especially with his talks about how "society has failed men" and how he is against video games and gamers.

The number one reason I stopped subscribing to several YouTube channels is something we can't get into due to rule #1. Ironically most of them were related to the other thing from rule #1. I'll leave which is which up to the reader.

Generally if they get caught up in a scandal. Outside of murder and proven sexual assault, I really don't care about whatever scandal is associated with your channel and neither does your core audience.
I think many YouTubers/podcasts play into it, because these scandals usually give them a viewer bump.
However when it causes en entire shows dynamic to change, it usually really hurts the show/podcast. When Ben Kissel left 'Last Podcast', their audience sunk to the point where they admitted it hurt their overall revenue. Even though they removed him because they were afraid he would hurt their revenue. Just because a vocal minority care, does not mean most of your audience does...

They seem to be personas non Grata in the retro youtuber community now, only popping up when the algorithm decides we need low effort street fighter content. My faith in humanity has been slightly restored by this. In terms of retrogaming channels, those two really scrape the bottom of the barrel. I haven't seen any of his content show up in my feeds in years, and last time any of hers popped up she was doing lazy recaps of game mods with clickbaity titles like "ILLEGAL [insert original game name] GAME [insert game publisher] DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT!!!", but the videos I have seen both of them read back their ripped-from-Wikipedia scripts with all the camera presence and cadence of a 2015 Charlotte Flair promo with the smugness turned up to 11.

I stopped listening to LPOTL maybe a few weeks/months before the Ben scandal really started to unfold. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to listening to it. At it’s peak it was such a captivating podcast with Marcus in particular being a great storyteller. But as it is right now thinking about LPOTL just kind of bums me out. Maybe that will change over time or if Marcus does some new solo project (I’m not really interested in his music podcast) I might give it a chance. Otherwise it’s been a long while since I’ve listened to LPOTL.

Usually just learning a person sucks. That said there is one channel, Nick DiRamio, I'm wondering about dropping just because since I started following them the focus of their channel has almost entirely shifted to Shane Dawson and TikTok shit.

I stopped subscribing to Illuminaughti after she got called out by others and exposed.
There are channels I've slowly abandoned as they've introduced unwanted political commentary or are producing shadier content that I want no part of.

When they start artificially padding the length to over 10 minutes by repeating themselves and wasting time. Get to the point. If the topic of the video takes 5 minutes, then the video should be five minutes. Not five minutes and then five minutes of fluff so you earn a bit more from it.
Shilling crypto scams.

Typically it's me losing interest or the channel not producing any more content for whatever reason, but channels switching focus tend to have me clicking unsubscribe. John Wolfe went from gaming to debunking 'paranormal' things posted on the internet and I promptly noped out.

Also when their ad shilling is 25% or more of the video. There was a channel that talked about stadium architecture that had an ad that I swear was 4 minutes out of a ten minute video.
And if they say at any point "Guys it's your boy_____"
