I actually loved it.
But I could associate a lot of the events with my life right now.
Either way, I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Did feel like reading 7 pages worth because i'm sleepy. I saw the movie with a friend of mine who wasn't that familiar with the Spidey Universe as I was. The "movie" came out well. I agree that you have to get a little to get a litte with comic to film movies. I knew I was on a wild ride when symbiote came from a meteor that hitched a ride on his scooter. I said "that's how he getting the suit" with great sarcasm. It did feel rushed, but I expected that when you have soooo many characters and plots to develop.
I looked at it from a fanboy perspective and a person who pays attention to pacing and storytelling in a movie. The movie's not bad. Evil Peter was cool, and i told my buddy the same thing an ealier poster said when Peter changed his hair "He's Emo now". A word a 25 yr old black man should use very rarely.
Dunst is a cool actress but still hasn't sold me on Mary-Jane, her being so attractive in the comics adds to Parkers insecurities imo. Sandman is one of the breakout villians portrayed on film in a while until I get a properly played Bizarro. The Defoe painting along with Bruce Campbell the French waiter are easily my highlights. Gwen felt out of place.
Finally, Venom deserved his own movie along with the alien costume. Topher was cool, a bigger Brock would have been better, but Topher pulled it off better than I thought. The voice was a bad move though. What happened to Spidey sense and webs shooting from the top of the hands. Harry should have tackled Venom instead of...you know.
I know they have to adapt somethings for the mass audience. My question is, why change things assuming people don't know any of the history when you don't need to if they don't know the history anyway. Crazy question, but it makes sense to me.
By the way. Way too much single tear crying by men in this movie for me. And evil Parker should have screwed that chick from across the hall, wax baking cookies.

I told my friends the same thing. I don't know why Peter would waste time on a whiny bitch like Mary Jane when he's got her right there. Plus, he'd get free rent. It's a win-win situation! Plus I thought the Russian girl is cuter than Mary Jane anyway.

I went and saw it yesterday, but I didn't post about it, cuz I was so f***ing cheesed off! Not at the flick, mind you, but with all the "rear canals" in the audience who collectively thought, "Well, gee, we don't like it, so lets spoil it for the 2 or 3 people in the audience that do." I mean seriously, laughing to the point where the dialogue is inaudible was really irksome to me. Bottom line though, I liked it, but I'mma have to buy it on DVD or something to understand everything that was going on. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

It felt rushed, and Harry has the worse butler known to man.

I saw it today myself
Passed pretty quickly which is good cause of the length
I enjoyed it a lot, no real complaints apart from it being cheesy at times, the Stan Lee cameo and the obligatory American flag behind Spidey being 2 examples
Emo Spidey made me laugh though, esp when Parker was crusing down the street acting like the biggest pimp in town

Since Peter is "emo" in the movie, would it be appropraite for me to sing "HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO ME?!?!" every time he starts crying, just to be a dick? i sang it to my friend.

I woulda actually preferred that compared to the "Thunder-like Laughter" everytime something dramatic happened. (Way to ruin a moviegoing experience, cynics!) Edit: I'm referring back to the audience I saw it with yesterday ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I'm pretty stoked.

That's one of the things that I hate about my peers... No flair for dramatics. The second something tries, it's going emo.

theres a difference between being dramatic, and doing it like this movie did. people didn't laugh just because it was dramatic, they laughed from how dumb it all was and how the story progressed

Again, that's just your opinion and your experience.
My experience and crowd was different. And everyone seemed to enjoy it. Nobody laughed at the dramatic scenes at my viewing.

(I seriously question the logic behind going to a 10+ dollar movie to mock it)

Disco Stu has just returned from the movie, and he has an opinion (duh!)
Okay, first off, yes the movie was rushed, but not nearly as bad as the Harry Potter films. Spiderman 2 was better IMO, but 3 was better than 1.
Topher Grace did well, but Thomas Hayden Church absolutely stole the show. Not as good as Alfred Molina, though.
I understand why things turned out the way they did, but in hindsight, I thing it would've worked if this movie ended with Parker still in the black suit, only for Venom to pop up in part 4.
On another note for parts 4-6, my friend suggested the directors and producers take them into a different direction, especially if the usual suspects don't sign on again. My friend thinks instead of Spiderman 4, for instance, it should be something like The Amazing Spiderman 1. In otherwords, a totally different series, much like the planned Wolverine flick.

Meh, I didn't dig it. I got really pissed at the film about half-way threw when I realize that spidey was a bigger d-bag then all three of the villians in it. I only cared about Sandman at the end because he I felt that he was the best person in the hole mess. Even before he got the black suit spidey was being an ass.
A lot of small stuff really got to me too, but I don't wanna ruin it for the people who haven't had a chance to see it yet.
