When Ken Shamrock told Ryan Shamrock to slap him or when Robocop saved Sting. I loved that on!! Kenny: WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!?? slap meRyan: *SLAP* Still laugh at that when I see it I also loved in that match when Billy Gunn gave a slow count & Ken Shamrock was like "What the f***!" I love St. Valentine's Day Massacre 1999. I taped it off TV when it came on.

I keep seeing the word "fake" and yet I see so few people getting upset about it.
Yes, it is scripted. Yes, they are putting on a show. Yes, they know the outcomes in advance. But if it were truly fake, then no one would ever get hurt. These men are taking real bumps out there and shedding real blood. Many have suffered permanent and crippling injuries, while some have even died.
These guys are putting there bodies on the line for us. Let's at least show them enough respect not to call it "fake".

I had heard wrestling wasn't on the level before I saw it for the first time.

I kinda thought that's what this thread was about; besides, what you just said wouldn't really fit in that title line. Also, movies, TV shows, and plays all star real people who do real stunts and sometimes suffer real injuries and real death (Brandon Lee, anyone?) but nobody gets their panties in a bunch when those are called "fake." So, while I understand where you are coming from (and I actually agree, believe it or not) I would suggest chilling a bit. But just a bit.

I always knew. Even as a little kid, I knew there was no way that there was a legitimate business where every employee hated each other and got paid to beat one another senseless for a belt. Also, there's no way I could believe that the Undertaker wouldn't be locked up in a mental asylum in the real world.

At Mania X7 when Linda kept waiting for Vince to separate his legs so she could kick him in the balls and she finally had to tell him to. ;D
Seriously, after you watch for awhile you just kind of catch on to it. Every time I mention that I ordered a PPV or still watch to my family I get the token "you still watch that fake stuff?!" and I just kind of smile and say yeah.

Papa Shango. People told this little boy of 9 years before, but I just thought they were being haters. Yeah I spoke like that when I was 9. Then I saw Papa Shango doing voodoo to jobbers.

Vinny Mac made a PSA saying it was just entertainment, and that's that.

My uncle introduced me to pro wrestling at age 5. I never "figured out" it was fake, because I was never under the impression that some people thought it was real. I just saw it as another tv show with actors playing characters.

I have a very clear memory of watching the Million Dollar Man/Beefcake match at WrestleMania 5 and my dad explained, they're fighting now, but when they are done, they're friends in the back.

1st time i watched in with an older friend when i was 7. His dad came in talking about how it was fake, then demonstrated a suplex to me with my friend and ended up dropping him on his head.
So from day 1, i've known its pre-determined, with a lot of risks.

As a marky kid I held to the idea that wrestling was like pro boxing, more "corrupt" than fake and that wrestlers would throw matches or go easy on an opponent for political or financial reasons. But watching our local bush league indy feds on the UHF channel before World Class and Superstars is probably what made me admit it was fake. There were plenty of 6 inch-distant punches and botches, and guys "knocked out" from sleeperholds accidentally looking directly into the camera.
