RVD's selling of the Five-Star Frog Splash. Everytime it happens, I know his little freakout about how much it hurt HIM is coming. And every single time, it pisses me off. It'd be like Triple H rolling around grabbing his knees after a Pedigree, or Stone Cold whining about how bad his tailbone hurts after a Stone Cold Stunner. Exactly. I've made this exact point in a previous post. No one else ever sells their splashes as much as RVD. Think about it. D'Lo, Eddie, Val Venis, they never hurt themselves when they hit their finisher. I wouldn't mind him doing it after a long hard match, but not every single time. It makes him look weak. I dont agree with that at all. You are supposed to sell in wrestling even if you are doing the move. if you fly that high in the air and fall down it is going to hurt. This is called Ring Phycology.

I agree it'sood he sells it, but he sells it the EXACT same way every single damn time he does it How is he going to sell it differenty? Hold his legs? No, but he rolls the exact same way every time.....he takes the exact amount of time to recover and go for the pin.

In falls count anywhere matches you can pin someone in the street but if they are in the ropes in the ring they just can't count it. Just take a ring rope with you, you'll never get pinned. Also in No DQ matches. If someone gets to the ropes the ref will count to 5 and it must be released. Why? It's no DQ, STFU! haha your last point reminds me of the survivor series 95 match between bret hart and diesel..bret is using weapons and refusing to relinquish holds. all the while hebner is saying you have to follow the rules. despite the fact it's a no dq match.. I remember that, he made bret break the sharpshooter which was stupid I think if i was a wrestler I;d have a bit of ring rope tied around me as part of my attire, you'd never get pinned one other thinguseless officials trying to break up fights, In Youre House 13, Austin, after being eliminated attacks Bret, JR says its no DQ as a way of justifying it (that in itself makes no sense once you are out the match the match rules no longer apply to you so yoiu must leave or suffer consequences ) but its the refs that baffled me, how do they break up the fight? do they pull Austin off Bret and escort him manually to the back? no they all stand about, pointing furiously at the entranceway shoutsing "hey!" alot, like thats gonna work, its like the constant bell ringing to get a fight broke up too..its useless

Do they think that they will just stop and go oh you are ringing the bell? sorry I could'nt hear it.Ok we will stop now.

also, i know its daft but if someone gets put in a chokeslam..or mandible claw (moreso if its a smaller wrestler in the hold ) they do a stupid lil marching on the spot thing trying to get their knees as high up as possible (see DDP getting chokeslammed in summerslam 2001 and Nunzio getting the socko treatment in the rumble 2004 ) it just seems a stupid way to sell

This has to do with continuity. But the way certain moves don't hurt a wrestler at one time, but the next time it pretty much kills them. There is no established toughness for the wrestlers. Kane is the best example. When he came in he was a monster it took The Undertaker THREE thombstone piledrivers to beat him, that has never been done before and never after WM13 again. There is nobody who had ever been so tough and a such challenge to UT. But all those other matches Kane lost after simply one thombstone piledriver. And of course the finishers of others.
Kane went from unstoppable monster, almost impossible to defeat, to a guy who could be beaten by simply any move or even a chairshot.

how about batista directing traffic so he can do backbody drops.. how about the fact that thye very essence of wrestling is not appreciated. the whole point of a match is to get a 3 count. so why must all matches end with a finisher?..

Anyone getting hit by a title belt is more effective than a wrestlers finisher. Hogans weighlifting belt has people rolling around as though being hit by a Tazer. Agree with the "suprprise" attacks but with music playing. Also in speciality matchs why do refs give a 5 count in the ropes or corners if there is no DQ stipulation? Why have tag teams in ECW if there is no tag title to go for? ..... Darn you for making me realize that

"Skull" obviously (as if I wasn't going to say it ;D)
And also the way face divas love getting their kit off, but heel divas try and cover up in shame if their top comes off.
Even though it was years ago, JR mixing up Rene Dupree and Charlie Haas in the Royal Rumble still breaks me out in a sweat.

TAG TEAM MATCH PYSCHOLOGY!
jesus....
let me explain
the face is working hard to get the tag to his partner after being worked over for so long...
ref gets distracted
faces makes the tag and his partner comes in and cleans house
the ref doesnt see the tag and makes him leave after a lot of arguing
yet the heels come in and out as much as they want and make tags behind the refs back and everything
completely makes zero since and always pisses me off

The clothesline over the top rope from random face to random heel.

I hate when none of the faces will even try to make the save in some situations, but other times its the same thing going on and they have to stop it this time. I hate when sometimes the referee reverses his decision after seeing a replay of the cheating on the titan tron but other times they don't look. I hate how after a diva match where the loser has to take off their clothes, the winner always takes theirs off too. I hate how when Chris Masters puts the masterlock on someone like Val Venis during a match the ref raises his arm once and then rings the bell but other bigger stars get the three raises of the arm. I hate the extremely slow climbing of the ladders and cages even though its only a couple minutes into the match. I hate how no one ever checked for HHH's sledgehammer before the match. This one is kinda old school, but the need of a managers license in some cases and not in others. When wrestlers can go from being world title contenders to pretty much nobody's in short periods of time: Kane, Orton, Rey, Big Show, etc. I hate when in Royal Rumbles moves that normally knock people down suddenly launch them over the top rope: Stunner, Sweet Chin music When guys can attempt to kill people(Kane) or rape them (Kane/Lita) and the police dont care, but then when Vince McMahon wants someone arrested they come right in and do it without any real reason. I hate how Batista constantly cheats and does cheap shots in the corner and chokes people even though he is supposed to be a super babyface I hate WWE pulling Bait and switches on PPV: Punjabi Prison, pulling Sabu from elimination chamber I hate when guys DONT sell their top rope moves as hurting themselves or when they are hurting the entire match but after the match they are completely fine. OH there is so much more that I can't remeber right now but once I watch Smackdown or Raw I'm sure I'll see so many more.

Thing that urks me is when Canadian wrestlers turn face, then all of a sudden, the canadian wrestler is billed as being from an american city! ...I never really understood that! So if Benoit turns heel, it's back to Edmonton for the 'Canadian Crippler' eh? What's ALWAYS bothered me in WWF/WWE. Is that "Day'um Foreigners!" are mostly portrayed as lowlife cheating scumbags!" Good Ol' JR can ya look up the word 'Xenophobia' in the dictionary?

That two main event guys together can beat a well established tag team without much difficulty. Heck, I think there's been a couple of times in the last few years where either the WWE/World Tag Team Champions or number one contenders were defeated in a handicap match against a single opponent! Also, one thing that annoyed me personally was when Edge won the title in the threeway against RVD and Cena. The match was No DQ, and JR and Lawler still screamed bloody murder when Edge hit Cena with the belt for the pin - even though it was perfectly legal!

I love this thread.
Also, even though this is an obvious one that everyone knows, I thought I'd point it out because it hasn't shown up in this thread yet:
If a wrestler has a sigmove or a finish that involves their opponent being in a specific, sometimes awkward position in order to set the move up, the opponent ALWAYS ends up there.
619, Bronco Buster, any others? That stupid gut kick thing Holly used to do... I know there are but can't think of them off the top of my head.
