It's Guy A's right to post whatever he wants, and it's Guys B-Z's right to disagree. If Guy A wants to counter that, good for him. But the unpopularity of the product on Tuesday nights on the Sci-Fi Channel (just looking at the ratings) would seem to indicate that neo-ECW apologists are in the vast minority. And, if you're in such a minority, and you voice your opinion, you're liable to get barraged with dissenters. That's just mathematics. Jed Shaffer ~Here, allow me to share a non-majority opinion guaranteed to get people riled up: I hate Mr. Kennedy. Pile on, folks. So people should be driven away from a public message board just because they have a different opinion than all the other people on that board? Especially when half of the replies to his inital post were mocking what he said in the first place, which to me seems almost like flaming, which is against the policies of this board. There's a difference between having a discussion about something rather than making an opinion and then seeing roughly 20 others hammering into you about how "wrong" you are. No, what I said was that everyone was free to say as they felt. But if someone boldly proclaims an opinion that is highly likely to be in the vast minority, said person can't reasonably expect the opposition, which outnumbers said person greatly, to all hold their tongues just because said person is the only one voicing a dissenting opinion. If you stand up in a Chocoholics meeting and say "Vanilla rules, chocolate sucks!", you'd better expect an earful, and you're lacking common sense if you don't. Actually I prefer to call it Extreme Thunder. Nitro had a lot of great shows. The only thing good about Thunder was Stevie Ray's "Suckas gots to know" and "Fruitbooty" catchphrases but that got old real fast. ECW hasn't hit Thunder level yet but it's getting close. Can we compromise and call it "Extreme WCW Circa 2000"? Or would that not fit on the bumper sticker? Someone has to think of the novelty t-shirts! |

I just hate it when people just say "Punk's getting buried" or "his name is Monty Brown, dammit". Hell, I'd even be happy if they said "ECW Sucks because it isn't 60 minutes of CM Punk" instead of saying "Punk's not booked, tonight?? To hell with WWECW!" I know it's trivial, but it just gets to me a little bit. Everyone has some petty thing that bugs the crap out of them. Being nitpicky is mine. NOTE: Yes, I know it's nitpicky being bothered by nitpicking. Just let me go insane in peace. |

It's safe to say that "sucks" fits both versions and fits much better than ECW or WWECW. Agreed. Thoroughly. Reasons: the writing is a tired, diluted derivative of the other two WWE products. Storylines start and stop randomly, with no payoffs or resolutions. The roster has been cobbled together not for the sake of profiling "extreme" athletes, but to either A) give something to do to someone who is a waste of time, or B) get them TV time while they continue to develop. The name itself is a misnomer, as apart from the rare "Extreme rules" match, there is nothing "extreme" about it. ECW is the third highest rated (out of the 6. Four are WWE shows) wrestling program and it is unpopular? What about TNA iMPACT! and WSX? Since they have lower ratings they are worse or less popular? Outside of the people on the Internet, ECW seems popular and more loved than WSX and Impact who are on better networks and in WSX's case have more promtional dollars thrown behind it. |
