The latest observer says the reason RVD jobbed to Holly on ECW this week is likely because Van Dam gave his notice. RVD had until the end of the week to give his notice or his contract would roll over. His contract expires over the summer. Dave speculates that Van Dam gave his notice since the job looked to be more of putting over Holly than Rob being in the doghouse (like CM Punk's job), as well as the fact that RVD wasn't involved in the ECW vs. Vince storyline.
bye bye rob...

Rob is too over to be in that midcard storyline anyway.

Can't say I'm sad. ECW will certainly be worse off without him, but I personally don't care for him and wont mind seeing him leave at all.
It'll be funny to see how much he is buried before he goes. I hope he jobs to Kelly Kelly.

Awesome. It's too bad he's been stuck there for the past 6 years. I'd have much rather watched him somewhere else, where he wouldn't have been so underutilized and watered down.
Also, regardless of how badly they try to bury him before his exit, it won't matter. That will only hurt his overness with WWE marks. All the RVD marks will still mark for him regardless, and when he shows up in TNA he'll give them a great boost. Being jobbed on WWE TV constantly didn't exactly make Christian less of a hot commodity.

Oh crap...time to avoid the super "pro TNA" message boards for a while. This is going to be the same as if ROH heard that Jamie Noble had given his notice.
Oh, I won't believe that RVD is leaving unless he leaves. That is the only given in the equation.

I hope it isn't true! I mean the only reasons I watch ECW is because of RVD, Punk, Burke and Thorn and they took another reason not too watch! God damn! I bet after Wrestlemania every ECW Orginal except maybe Balls Mahoney will be gone! This just sucks!

Until I hear it from DubyaDubyaE, I won't believe it.
But still. RVD would be AWESOME any place else. Plus with the state that the X-Division is going, he'd be perfect for TNA.

I really hope Rob doesn't leave. He's my favourite wrestler, and I don't want to see him buried by Vince, put on TNA under a new name due to copyrights, given the belt straight away, then subjected to various Russo-stories. RVD messed up big timelast year, true, but everybody makes mistakes. Why Vince can't forgive him I don't know, it's not like the ECW belt means much anymore either, so why he can't win it back I dunno.

Oh, yeah getting both world titles and main eventing...he was really held back. Yeah, way to put words in someone's mouth. I never said he was held back. I said underutilized and watered down. Let's break this down. 1) Underutilized: Despite being one of the most over wrestlers on the roster, RVD spent the better parts of 2003 and 2004 shuffling around in the midcard and in makeshift tag teams, never getting into any fueds that someone could care about. His only money fued would have been Kane, but they squashed him out of it so that Shane McMahon could steal the fued with Kane from him. Spending two straight years doing nothing in the midcard and being a transitional Intercontinental champion to job to Randy Orton, to me, says underutilized. 2) Watered down: This doesn't really need explaining. Watch how Van Dam wrestled in ECW, and even on the InVasion PPV. Then watch his matches from 2002-on. WWE's style severely limits his arsenal and waters him down.

And when he finally did get the chance he'd been waiting for he completely blew it by getting caught with drugs. Maybe Vince was right to be hesitant to put the title on him. It's a different company with different ways of doing things. He was frequnetly hurting people in 2001 (Kurt Angle got the worst of it) it was causing such a fuss with guys in the back, something had to be done. And his style was toned down.

Exactly. RVD's safe style will be out the window if he leaves WWE.
He'd go back to being the Whole F'in Show.

Yeah, had to sneak that one in there didn't he? Well, with how RVD is being used in WWECW I can't say I'm upset. Go to TNA, and at least he can have more action in his 3 minute main events than he's been allowed to do in WWE for awhile.

Even though he won the World titles I too feel he was held back, he could have been a main eventer from day 1 & should have been when the invasion storyline was over. He was as over as anybody else would have sold out main events. But thats WWE for ya, you don't get pushed that fast unless you're a big huge guy that came threw their development.

I'll be sad to see him go from WWE TV, but at least i'll never have to see him doing the job to Hardcore friggin' Holly any more. Good luck to him, if it's true. Hopefully he can bring Sabu along with him and this bastardization of the ECW name can rot in hell.

I can't believe people are still clinging to this as a reason to shit on Van Dam. He screwed up 6 months ago, and payed for it. He's the most over guy on the f***ing brand, let it go already. They didn't have to give him the title back, but clean jobbing to Test, Holly, and Lashley for no apparent reason? Plus it makes me laugh that people act like this is the worst thing some wrestler has ever done. Getting caught with pot.
