You know, we don't have to bump this thread every five days. I'm pretty sure it expired at page 2. Just so you know... "WE" don't. And let me be the one to remind everyone that bumping a thread with a post and then deleting your post doesn't jive around here. Either have something additional to contribute... or don't.

.....making him the only wrestler to legitimately win a world title. dude that is crazy logic I've not seen the match, so I dunno, but from your description it sounds to me like either Hogan waxed up, knocking the guy off the apron when he wasn't ready, or Inoki waxed up and landed wrong either way, how anyone could count that as a 'legit' win is beyond me, it's not like they were having a legitimate fight, were they? Or even if Hogan had 'gone into business for himself' as it were and started shooting on the guy It was just a mistake that the company had to cover up, in essence they 'rewrote the script' (I hate the 'it's all scripted' mentality, but you get the metaphor) It's similar to to Rated RKO getting heel heat for injuring Triple H, when in actuality it had little to nothing to do with either one of them EDIT: Sorry, didn't mean to rant and there's no offense intended, just don't think it's fair to call it legitimate

I wonder if !!!!~~~****HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN****~~~!!!! can even work these days. I mean, !!!!~~~****HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN****~~~!!!! is pretty old. For an ideal high workrate ECW atmosphere, !!!!~~~****HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN****~~~!!!! would probably not be the best person. Even in his nWo days, !!!!~~~****HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN****~~~!!!! was starting to show his age. Anyway, !!!!~~~****HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN****~~~!!!!'s legacy can at least be kept alive through memories.

HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN slammed into Inoki so hard that Inoki was unable to hold onto the rope and was knocked off the apron. He was out of control, feet up in the air as he landed and hit the ground head first knocking himself unconscious. The reason that I call this a legit win is because the match was stopped because Inoki was KOed legitimately. Since this was before kayfabe was broken they had no choice but to award the match as well as the title (this was a tournament final) to HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN. Yes it was an accident (Inoki was scheduled to win) but it was legit. Therefore HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN is the only man to legitimately win a World title. The difference is that nothing came from that. If it weren't for the fact that this was the finals to declare the first IWGP World champion the victory would have no historical significance. But HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN was awarded the title because he legitimately injured Inoki. If it happened today now that kayfabe is broken they would just stop the match and explain it on the next show. But in the days of kayfabe this was not possible. No problem. That's what debates are for.

OMG of course The Sandman! They both have similar move numbers (Hogans got punches big boot and legdrop, Sandmans got cane shots, russian leg sweep, and legdrop) Sandman hits Hogan in the head with the cane only for Hogan to Hulk up no selling the cane shots. That would be awesome actually!

It was about blood and violence. There is no doubt in my mind that HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN could wrestle a great ECW match.

The only, and I mean ONLY way I would have EVER bought Hogan in ECW is as a snotty heel, "winking" at all the smarks in the crowd by doing his old routine, posedowns, and low impact offense, and playing off their boos.

Are you honestly saying that you wouldn't want to see HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN involved in some serious bloodbath matches where anything goes? Full fledged brawls that had nothing to do with wrestling and everything to do with butt kicking. That way those critics don't have to worry about how many moves are used and fans can cheer wildly as the blood flows.
