I still fail to comprehend how Cena lost anything when he was standing tall at the end of the night?
I mean, didn't Kaufman pin Lawler at one point?

Federline giving a "celebrity" rub? lmao Is Cena in tabloids? Does he appear daily on E!? Entertainment Tonight? USA Today? Is he a popular topic of public discussion? Are any of the other WWE wrestlers? No. Ric Flair, the most prolific champion would draw a "Who?" from over 90% of the United States population, if not more. The public knows Hogan, the Rock, and, maybe, depending on their age when he hit big, Steve Austin. If you are telling me that Kevin Federline was not the most famous man to appear on WWE TV in the past three years aside from a guy named Hogan, you're are wrong. Dead wrong, sir. Federline fit because he fits the classic wrestling fan stereotype: white trash. I know it's not true when it comes to smart fans, but if you have been to a live event, you'll know that the white trash mark still exists. By having Federline appear, these white trash folks feel like they are hip, in with what the people are talking about. If they don't know him, they'll watch the TV to find out what the hubbub is about. This is why Kaufman worked. He was from Hollywood, and made sure to let everyone know. The aura of paumpusness of a man from Hollywood, or in old days of the NWA, New York is an easy, immesurable drawing technique for a heel. Federline's appearance worked.

I don't remember Kaufman EVER pinning Lawler. Lawler dominated Kaufman both times they wrestled. Kaufman pinned a woman with Lawler at ringside, but he never pinned Lawler.

The only people who tuned in Federline are the ones who tuned in to laugh at him and the "fake" sport of wrestling. Those people will not be spending $40 on PPVs, end of story.

Yeah...Vickie and Mickie have worked "real hard" to make the Woman's Division mean something with their "great" confrontations. They can wrestle, but keep them away from microphones cause they lose all credibility.
Did anyone expect K-Fed...not to win? Honestly, I knew it was coming, I was just upset with the execution. The patheic "Umaga/Cena can't touch" ends...at New Year? I thought they said New Year's Revolution. Oh well, the crowd won't remember one word...I mean, they show replays of things that happened an hour before.
This guy may have hit the head of the nail...but he caught some of his thumb in the swing as well.

But they are risking turning away the actual wrestling fans. What is the point of getting the ratings up for a week or two if some of the real fans are going to stop watching Ok, where are these marks hiding that people claim are flailing away from wrestling in droves because K-Fed showed up? The fact is, the ratings are going up. They risk losing viewers moreso by doing outdated parodies of the president and not-funny social commentaries that come across as more racist than the event they were drawing from. They could do a lot worse than K-Fed; he is a very public figure who EVERYONE knows and, until Britney's recent behavior, have wanted to see destroyed. He is the ultimate heel: he was boning one of the most desirable woman on the planet regularly AND won half of her estate after the divorce. Don't tell me you'd rather watch unfunny skits stereotyping an entire class of wrestlers, and bad ones at that, more so than K-Fed using his star power to attract new viewers and give a rub of celebrity to Nitro, whose original gimmick that he was one of the most hip guys in Hollywood. -Ian Actually, he didn't get half of Britney's estate. He signed a pre-nup and is only getting $300,000 from Spears, since they were married two years. Federline will also receive 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their Malibu home, and will be allowed to keep any gift received from Spears under $10,000 in value.

Granted, they existed as well, but you'll get a ton of bumpkins who haven't tuned in as well to see what the fuss is about. It could be what they need to get them jumpstarted as viewers again, as opposed to Cryme Tyme.

All the WWE titles have been devalued anyway.
Even before Federline pinned Cena.

I apologize for my error. But this proves that people care about this stuff, that he could rattle that off off hand.

This is very true, actually, but at least Leno was a real celebrity, not a guy who got a famous chick pregnant. And just because Leno has wrestled, doesn't make Federline's involvement any less of a joke.

I think that's the best point made here. The point is with higher ratings come higher advertising revenues. End of story. But that's not where WWE makes their money. PPVs and DVDs are where WWE makes the vast majority of their money, and if Federline doesn't help those numbers, and he won't, then he's been a total and complete waste of time.
