I think that's the best point made here. The point is with higher ratings come higher advertising revenues. End of story. And if they would fix their shows and get Raw back in to the 5s (which I have no doubt they could if they decided to actually put forth some effort) then they could make even more. Leading to more people buying PPVs, and making the company even more successful. Too bad they seem content in cruise control.

so who the f*** is Doug Brown and why do I care what he thinks? and why am I having deja vu? 1. I don't know. 2. You shouldn't care. 3. This thread has probably happened before. Actually it was sarcasm because I used that quote earlier today in another thread with a Raw review by some other guy I had never heard of. I think I need to just save "who the f*** is _______ _______ and why should I care?" so I can just copy/paste it next time

I don't listen to Doug Brown. We were top competitors back in the day in 1Wrestling Trivia, which later turned into PWInsider Trivia. Im bitter about my loss in the top 10 championship finals still from back in 2003. Brown didn't win either. But I have no love for any of those other 9(all a bunch of cheaters! they totally looked crap up on the net when that was the one request not to do!)

The point is with higher ratings come higher advertising revenues. End of story. But that's not where WWE makes their money. PPVs and DVDs are where WWE makes the vast majority of their money, and if Federline doesn't help those numbers, and he won't, then he's been a total and complete waste of time. I agree that DVDs and PPVs sell merchandise, but I will stand by my belief that it was not nearly the worst thing the WWE could have done, nor did it hurt them at all by doing so. Seriously, if this were a television show, would we be criticizing, say, I dunno, the writers of Batman for hiring a bad guy who had tires, albeit skanky and sleezey ties, to the celebrity world even if they knew that it would only pop the ratings for a couple shows? The WWE has bigger fish to fry than K-Fed. I don't see what the problem was: it fit in the storyline and Cena looked strong at the end of the night. Plus, the only negative media I've seen is that making of Federline for even being more sleezey than the WWE. That should say a lot, considering to be considered at the level of sleeze of Federline, the WWE must have been doing some really bad shit BEFORE he came. -Ian

Anyone else notice the Irony of Jay freaking Leno, who wrestled a match in WCW, talking about this bring a joke? Leno headlined a PPV. He can crack on the free show curtain jerker all he wants. Leno>KFed

"They have been proving that beautiful women can have good matches also." Yes. let´s ignore women wrestling outside the WWE, the worst place for it, YAHOO!
Minus this sentence, I agree 100%. Vince made WWE into a big and sick joke.
"He didn't beat Cena clean. It doesn't matter. "
Yes it did. This was made to make Cena look like this:"oh poor Cena he lost via screwjob, that damn Umaga and K-Fed"
But seriously, we got a heel with a stupid gimmick, a nobody and Mr."I made the Entire Roster Job Because I Sell More T-Shirts Than You" as the "mainstream squad", c´mon it´s a stupid ideia!

It's a stupid idea, but then if they hadn't tried anything at all, you'd be complaining about bland everything is. It's getting a reaction and it hasn't been the worst thing on WWE, yet alone that night's Raw, so it's doing something right. -Ian

SO it´s okay even if it´s a negative reaction? I still trying to figure out why they did this thing with K-Fed. It just doesn´t make any sense...

The Smarks who can't be pleased anyways even if there was just a 6star match between Angle, Benoit, Joe, Foley, AJ and (insert internet darling here)? The ratings showed a slight bump when Federline was on the first time, so they have continued to bring him back. Who is giving this a negative reaction? According to the TV numbers, the marks are enjoying it. -Ian

I still think people are blowing this out of whole proportion. It's not like he won the WWE championship, heck it wasn't even a clean win.
Forum drama queens? DAMN!

To be fair, no one should ever take wrestling seriously.
It's entertainment. That's all.
I don't think that the company will suffer just because one faux rapper beat another.

This was barely anything. I don't care what this "Doug" fellow says, it's just his opinion.
Oh no, Cena lost a match because of outside interference! Weren't we just complaining that he "beats the odds" too often? Umaga punked him out. It's not like K-Fed no-sold the friggin' FU (which sucks anyway) and used a wrist-clutch burning hammer to beat Cena by knockout.

Vince has made the company that produced Doink, Kerwin White, Bastion Booger into a joke on New Years day 2007 by allowing K-Fed to have a seriously tainted pinfall over Cena? Newsflash!!!The WWE has been a joke for the majority of its existence. WCW was the place to watch better athletes until they started relying on the cartoon style characters that Mcmahon had already tossed out. The wrestling available in the early 90's via WCW blew the WWF away. Athletes like Benoit, Sting, Great Muta and Vader were mesmerizing small audiences on TBS. Unfortunanetly, the fans preferred Doink.
Wrestling is a big joke. Fans wouldn't have it any other way. I was in the minority and preferred WCW. I still watch wrestling because like smoking crack, its a bad habit that is hard to break.

OK so let's say K-Fed brought Rated RKO, Umaga, Nitro, WGTT, Cade & Murdoch, Masters and Snitsky all down to the ring with him. You're saying that Cena should still win that fight? It was a NO DQ MATCH! K-Fed followed the rules. The point was that Cena was messing with him (which you blame Cena for if it didn't look that way. It's his job to sell that part) but just as he's ready to end it BAM Umaga hits the ring. Then he lays him out and then K-Fed wins. IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL!

Yes it is, because no non wrestler should beat a wrestler EVER! It kills the credibility of wrestling when any random rear canal can walk off the street and beat the champ, regardless of interference, he pinned the champ 123. The credibility Cena did have, and it wasn't all that much, is now dead and buried, along with what little prestige was left on the title he holds.
