Was going to say. He had already "killed" the legends of Foley and Flair I think and was busy feuding with Undertaker at the time of Eddie's Death. I think the taste questions come in because of part of the angle having him wreck one of Eddie's low riders while Taker was in the trunk, and also the "EDDIE'S IN HELL" promo. None of which was his doing since that was booking.

Orton had become the legned killer LONG before Eddie passed away. Years.

Orton was the legend killer in his initial heel role, then in mid 2004, he turned face and stopped using the legend killer name for like 6 months. Then, at the beginnng of 2005, Orton cut a promo about how he used to be the legend killer, and then challenged Undertaker to a match at Wrestlemania 21, the same night that Eddie faced his tag team championship partner, Rey Mysterio, in their third of what would be 8 matches they would have that year. Orton would then go back to being the legend killer and feud with the Undertaker for another 8 months. It was month number 7 of that feud that Eddy Guererro died.

They need to do their damn research a little more accurately.



However, If Orton's story is true, the I wish him all the best in a recovery. He obviously is ina time of need, and he just needs to get through this rough time. Usually when people are suicidal, It's all a matter of them just getting through that "one day", and then they could be on their way up to a recovery. It's when they feel alone is when the situation is dangerous. And, he may have lots of people around him, but that dosen't mean he isn't alone, because he could feel alone mentally, so he needs lots of help and support. I wish him the best and will keep him in my prayers.

Brian Stull invited me onto his “Stranglehold” show Tuesday night on KFNS radio in St. Louis to discuss the blog report on Randy Orton’s rumored suicide attempt.

Off the air, Stull had spoken with Cowboy Bob Orton, Randy’s father. Bob Orton told Stull the report was false. Bob Orton also said he had spoken with his son, and Randy said he had no idea where this rumor started.

I have little doubt that the story is substantially true, though the time frame of my original blog item (http://muchnick.net/babylon/2007/09/18/did-randy-orton-attempt-suicide/) was mistaken. The Randy Orton incident, whatever it was, occurred in the spring of 2006, shortly after he was suspended by World Wrestling Entertainment for “unprofessional conduct,” and a few months before he was suspended a second time, in August of last year, for failing a drug test.

I compared notes on this with another journalist, who not only has unimpeachable credentials but also had looked into the same story last year on the basis of a tip from a completely different direction. Independently, we each had the name of the St. Louis area hospital where Orton was said to have been taken (and, no, it’s not some generic name like “St. Louis Hospital”).

Likeliest explanation: Randy was depressed and OD’d on something.

The Orton camp’s contention that there is neither smoke nor fire here is, sadly, not the case. Indeed, WWE’s vice president of talent relations (now senior vice president) John Laurinaitis was concerned enough about the rumor last year to investigate it himself. Laurinaitis talked to Randy and others, and concluded that there had not been a suicide attempt. I would say that such a finding is hardly dispositive, given the company’s nonexistent reservoir of credibility these days.

Like his many fans, I hope Randy Orton will be OK. If he is relying solely or largely on the WWE wellness policy to regulate his drug use and mental hygiene, however, I am not confident on that score.

Suicide attempt or not — and I stand by the report that there was one in the spring of 2006 — WWE needs to explain why Randy Orton was not suspended for 60 days upon exposure of his role in the recent Signature Pharmacy dragnet. The explanation that Orton’s August 2006 suspension already covered this wellness policy violation does not wash, since the evidence shows that he continued to receive Signature shipments as late as February 2007.

Are these questions impertinent three months after the Chris Benoit horror?

Or would a fair-minded observer agree that they are newly urgent?

You're welcome to make your own opinion, but while this version certainly makes this story seem somewhat more plausible (That Randy might have been in a place where he was contemplating suicide last year) the fact that he's backtracked from his original somewhat, to say nothing of the clearly negative opinion of the WWE (And to be fair, its not without merit), to say nothing of his questionable logic, leads me to believe he is hardly the "Fair minded observer" he mentioned at the end of this article.

Personally, despite not being an Orton fan, I say, who cares if its true or not (Either way I'm sure he prefers it not be bandied about), only that I hope whatever demons he may (Or may not) be struggling with, he either has overcome them, or is in the process of doing so.

Anything this guy says should probably be taken with a grain of salt, since he has been hired to write a new book for 2008 entitled CHRIS AND NANCY: The True Story of

I think it's more and more clear tat this is B.S. based on his changing around of dates and stories. Also, if I remember correctly, the word was that Orton was sent to an Atlanta anger management clinic during this time period between April 2006 and his second suspension in August 2006. Hopefully Orton and WWE look into legal action. This guy has a vendetta against WWE.
