they should listen to what the fan base is... we're not majority fans so we dont matter -.- they should definately push Hardy's because Matt can definately be a Main Eventer if given the chance. MVP/Kennedy too

Right after they Bought WCW. I was going write a whole nother thread about this. But essentially, I forgot the right literary or sociological word, but they suffered from the thing where you conquer your enemy but in doing so became them and history repeats itself.

They listen to the fans on some things, like when Matt Hardy was fired and all of MSG was chanting for him and deriding Lita. That lead to her turning heel, joining with Edge, and that whole ordeal. And if Punk wasn't getting the big cheers he does get, I doubt he would be champion. But they don't capitalize on them. Punk should've either won the belt earlier, like at Summerslam or at least not lose to Morrison cleanly as he had in the past so his reign wouldn't seem so out of left field. And when Hardy did come back, Edge was still the main focus and the booking made Matt look bad (their Summerslam '05 match I'm thinking of), so they do listen. They just take lemons and run it through a bit of mud first before drinking

in the next few years MVP, Mr. Kennedy, Jeff Hardy, and Matt Hardy, (who get good reactions from the crowd) are going to be in the main event in the next couple of years along with Cena and Orton while CM Punk and Elijha Burke will be in the US/Intercontinental title hunt

He stopped listening in March 2001 when WCW died. Even if he dressed up Kevin Thorn as Turd Sandwich and made him champion, people would still watch. Wrestlemania 24 = ECW Title match: Kevin Thorne as Turd Sandwich vs. Stevie Richards as Giant Douche! BOOK IT! So this would mean the Giant Douche would win, right? After all it would be what the fans want because didn't the Douche win the election in a landslide?

It depends on what you mean by "fans". If you mean fans on this message board and ones like it, the answer is never (and with good reason).
If you mean the fans who are shelling out money, the answer is "always" - see Cena merchandise sales, and crowd reaction (either positive or negative, but never silent)
Someone can rant and rave about how great a wrestler is on the internet, but that doesn't make the WWE a penny (a lot of those people are the ones just stealing PPVs off the internet anyway). Fans making noise at an event will be listened to a little more - that makes great TV, and indicates a real passion, a passion that often translates to money. But actually showing love with your wallets - that's the #1 thing that will get the WWE's attention.

WWE DO listen to the fans.
Only not to "us". "We" are a minority and a difficult one to please, with tastes that more often than not =/= good business.
Cena is still one of the most over guys, and he gets reactions from 100% of the crowd. Be it cheers, be it boos, it's still a reaction. And as much as we don't like it, he's still popular with most of the live crowds.
Batista doesn't even have the problem of the boos.
Triple H still gets loud pops, despite his ongoing "burial trip".
If you think Punk or Morrison, or the Hardys would get louder pops, you're judging with your own meter, and it's not the one used by most of the audience (both live and at home). Some of these Superstars are getting nice pops, but so did Tito Santana and the Bushwhackers, but nobody really wanted to see the as World Champions.
Despite the popular belief, Vince isn't stupid, and he probably knows how "far" can some Stars get, in terms of crowd reaction, credibility, marketability and reliability.
Punk MAY make it to the main event, once the crowd will stop sitting on their hands for most of his PPV matches...
Yet again, with a good push, even a broomstick or a piece of cardboard could get pops and be credible, but would it last?

It's like this with all wrestling. I doubt fans were clammering for the Gagnes as the top stars in AWA. Believe it or not, in his prime Verne Gagne was a sold draw. He just stuck around too long. THE reason Vince was listening to the fans during the attitude years was because he had no choice. When you have Ted Turner's WCW outdrawing you, getting better ratings, signing a lot of your biggest talents, etc etc, you tend to do whatever it takes to keep your hands in the fans wallets. The second worst thing that could have happened to the WWE was being the last man standing.

John Cena most definitely's got his heart in the rignt place by wanting to be a good example for others because of his high ethics and morals for the youth, teens and adults. Not everyone goes and does that. It's really fantastic that he is willing to do so. That is most admirable, well-deserving of respect and greatly appreciated.
He shouldn't turn heel or go along with those who want him behaving that sort of way. He is doing a fantastic job as a babyface! It is also attitude, reliability, good attitude, as well as a sense of fun/humor, work ethic which should and deserves to be rewarded.

They stopped listening to the SMART fans when they bought WCW and ECW
They still listen to the little kids who buy the merchandise and the woman that scream for cena, until there is another competitor(no tna doesn't count) they will listen to only the people who buys the stuff dolls, the t shirts, the replica belts etc etc.
