I'm not going to defend Taker roughing Masters up, as I agree, a few stiff chops followed by an explaination (vulgar though it may be) backstage would do the trick. However, things like this should come as zero surprise to anyone.
WWE in recent years has been throwing guys who have "the look" out there with little to no training left and right, and this, sadly, is a byproduct of that. If you haven't had much if any seasoning, how are you going to remember all the little details of a match, when you're probably more concerned with remember the spots that have been laid out for you?
Masters started with UPW some time in 02, was in OVW by 03, and on the main roster for good by 05. That ain't much in terms of experience for "the biggest stage of all". Combine that with the fact that, for most of that run, he didn't have actual wrestling matches, with the majority of his stuff being "enter, put on full nelson, leave" deals. How much can he possibly learn from that, if anything?

So you believe Holly is justified for his actions with younger wrestlers? I do, i really do. Holly teaches them a valuable lesson. Either you take it, deal with it, learn from it and get over it. Or you groan and winge and moan and realise wrestling, a hard physical sport with real dangers isnt for you That whole old school mentality of "paying your dues" is nothing but a lod of bulls***! I mean, stiffing the hell of a rookie in an era where kayfabe is looooooong dead is just ridiculous. To legit injure an opponent just to because you can get away with it (or in Holly's case, he takes it out on rookies because he's a bitter, washed up piece of crap with no talent or charisma) is just a f***ing joke! |

I'm about the biggest Taker fan I know, and I think it was a bit much. Stiff him a couple of times and be done with it. Too far, Dead Man.

Maybe I am a little late, but the story in the first post is the most awesome thing I have ever heard. Much respect to Taker! This is light years different than Bob Holly bullying a newbie. Holly is Thurman "Sparky" Plugg, a multi time hardcore champion ( a joke belt held by such luminaries as the Mean Street Posse and Maven) and has in no way earned the right to push green wrestlers around. He is a nobody, while Taker is a multi-time world champion, up there in the ranks of the most famous and legendary wrestlers of all time, and he has every right to wail on a lumbering piece of crap like Chris Masters if the jerk is making him look bad in the ring. I would be a happy man if they inducted him into the hall of Fame simply for breaking Masters' face.

Ok I don't know what to believe in this story. Sounds like the Undertaker did what any veteran would do? I mean Taker stiffed him, but it didn't say that Taker broke his arm. Masters is a big boy, he'll heal, and if he loves the sport of pro wrestling he'll be better for it.

damn..everyone takes everything in wrestling way to f***ing seriously...this has been the norm for how many decades now..its a part of the business...masters is not a member of your family or a close friend where you can be really that much serious about it...he f***ed up...taker handled it the way a veteran does....and i'm not defending taker because i'm a big taker fan...even if it was holly..jbl..hell even brooklyn brawler...you f*** up..shit happens to you..thats life

Ok, I've read through about 6 or so pages and I haven't noticed this yet but who is the Undertaker to say anything about selling when he no sells just about EVERYTHING. Take when he had a "broken hand" against Lesnar in the Hell in a Cell. He continued to punch with it over and over occasionally stopping to say "ow" and shake it a bit. It's understandable to ignore things every now and again like when someone gets their arm worked over but they can still use it to execute irish whip and what not but his hand was supposed to be broken, not slightly hurt. His range of selling ability is lame so he should be the last to comment on anything to do with it let alone take liberties against people. That's takers gimmick |
