And it's not like they're not counterbalanced by plenty of people who dislike Punk and jump on everything his supporters on this board say or think. I'm a Punk fan. And I haven't posted on Wrestlecrap as long as you have. But I know for a fact that that ratio is wildly incorrect. I'm sure it's different elsewhere, but here he seems to be universally appreciated rather than universally worshiped/loathed.

You're welcome, I just typed in "Hardcore Holly" & "Bully." As for specific incidents, check out any wrestler's autobiography. It is also common knowledge that Stu Hart and his Dungeon trainers stretched students early; Lance Storm probably confirmed it.

Hulk Hogan has his leg broken by Hiro Matsuda who saw him as nothing but a silly bodybuilder. Matsuda agreed to train him when Hogan came back after healing; Matsuda believed right there that Hogan was a serious person. After reading some of the older stories, I can safely assume that stretching and stiffing younger guys is an old practice that dates back to the carnival era.

Fact: Masters was being stupid by no selling. He's been on television for a couple of years now, he should really have the craft down by now.
Fact: Taker took it too far. Yelling at him was justified. Hell, bloodying or even breaking his nose could be justified-a lesson he certainly won't forget. But the rest was overkill.
Fact: Taker is a beloved veteran who does not have a track record of such incidents like some others. Masters is also an unpopular jobber with little, if any support.

Bottom line: Masters was screwing up, and Taker got mad. Masters ignored him, and Taker went nuclear. He gave Masters a few shots, which just about any other veteran would probably do in that situation. But, he let his temper get the better of him. As long as this is an isolated incident, I think forgiving it can be excused. If he had a history of this like Holly or JBL, then there would be just cause for outrage.

Well, we know about that dastardly Sho Funaki, but by that logic, Spike Dudley shoulda been the biggest douchebag EVER.

And I don't feel sorry for Dupree, he got pulled over and claimed to be Bob Holly. He deserved to get his ass beaten. Sylvan...sucked, so he deserved it too

I didn't watch the Rumble so I can't comment on Punk being stiffed, but....Holly just works stiff. So did Benoit at times, so did Vader, Hansen, Terry Funk, William Regal....

Was Hansen a bully because he put his all into his Lariat?

Was Regal being a jerk for trying to "wrestle" Goldberg?

Etc etc....I just dont see why Holly and JBL are the only ones who get a bad rep for these things.

There was a similar incident involving Benoit/Guerrero & Puder mention a few pages back which was pretty much the same thing.

I agree, but Dupree should learn to respect the veterans. A couple of stiff shots instead of a pounding would have gotten the point across.
