I think my subject line says it all.
Carlito is clearly a failure at this point in time, and is quickly heading downstream to HEAT. Perhaps Carlito will replace Val Venis when he retires?
Thoughts.

People can make thier "whatever BERRIED lmao" jokes, but seriously, Carlito is DEFINITELY in a slump as far as how he's booked. He may be TNA bound before next year ends.

More like Shelton.
It'd take many more years before you could compare him to Val.

When all the suspensions happened, Carlito was in the limelight feuding with Trips but meethinks that Trips must not have been impressed to much. Me personally it didn't look like he did anything awe-inspiring but I do think that he is a great talent and shouldn't be in this slump he is in now.

Carlito is one of the worst wrestlers in the company. He has absolutely no charisma and is a very average in ring worker. Ya, he has goofy hair and when he debuted his catch phrases were funny, but now a couple years later he still does the same boring routine over and over.
People can say that the WWE holds guys back and limits their creativity by scripting things or whatever... but then look at guys like Kennedy, Punk, and Santino. They are actually entertaining. Carlito needs to go to Smackdown or ECW.

And his entrance music loops after 30 seconds, too!

Carlito isn't a third of the talent that Val is.

He's a failure in my eyes ever since he had that horrible haircut. I really thought he was going to win the intercontinental championship within the next year. And I really thought his feud with HHH would elevate him. I was wrong.

Carlito is fine, I think. He is charismatic, a pretty good mic worker, and average or better in the ring. He's also pretty young, and not stuck with a porn star gimmick.

Actually, he probably would be better off on Smackdown.

Eh, don't know if you can say Carlito is in a slump. It would imply that he was hot before then. He was actually doing well when he debuted. I mean they saw enough in him to have him go clean over Cena for the U.S. title. Ever since his face turn tho, he's slid lower and lower, even going heel again hasn't helped.

That wasn't a clean win. He used Cena's lock and chain.
Carlito strikes me as the kind of person who's waiting on creative to have something for him, instead of doing what some of the greats have done in the past and taking control of their character.

Carlito was never good in the first place. He's not very good in the ring and his mic work is incredibly boring. And his overacting and forced facial expressions are practically on par with Vince McMahon.
