Jimmy Wang Yang (63 points)

James Eas Yun (born May 13, 1981) is a Korean-American professional wrestler/actor. Yun is best known for his work in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as one-third of the Jung Dragons, Yang, and Total Nonstop Action and the independent circuit as Jimmy Yang. After a brief stint as Akio, a henchman for Tajiri in late 2003-early 2004, he returned to WWE in 2006 on the SmackDown! brand as Jimmy Wang Yang.

World Championship Wrestling (1999-2001)
In June 1999, Yun signed with World Championship Wrestling (WCW), making his WCW television debut in January 2000. He was originally a part of the Jung Dragons stable along with Jamie-San and Kaz Hayashi. In late 2000, when Jamie-San unmasked and left the group, forming a tag team with former 3 Count member Evan Karagias. The team of Hayashi and Yang feuded with Karagias and Jamie until the WWF purchased WCW.


Heartland Wrestling Association (2001)
In March 2001, the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) acquired Yun's contract and assigned him to the company's Heartland Wrestling Association developmental territory. With no plans to call him to the main roster, the WWF eventually released Yun.

All Japan Pro Wrestling (2001-2003)
After his brief stint as a WWF developmental talent, Yun agreed to join All Japan Pro Wrestling where he wrestled as both a part of its tag team division and its singles junior heavyweight division.


Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
From May to August 2002, Yang was one third of The Flying Elvises in TNA Wrestling alongside Sonny Siaki and Jorge Estrada. Yang and the other Elvises were involved in TNA's first match, defeating A.J. Styles, Jerry Lynn, and Low Ki in a six-man tag team match.


World Wrestling Entertainment (2003-2005)
In September 2003, following a critically-acclaimed match with Tommy Dreamer on Sunday Night Heat, Yun was signed to a three year developmental deal with the renamed World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He, along with the Japanese American Ryan Sakoda, made their WWE debuts on October 19, 2003 at No Mercy. Yun was renamed Akio (a reference to legendary Japanese wrestler Mr. Saito) and aligned himself with Sakoda, forming the heel tag team Kyo Dai (Japanese for "brothers"), the henchmen of the native Japanese wrestler Tajiri.

Sakoda was eventually released from WWE and Tajiri was traded to RAW. This left Yun on his own to become a lower card wrestler and Velocity mainstay, competing primarily in the cruiserweight division until he was released on July 5, 2005.


Ring of Honor (2005, 2006)
After being released from WWE, Yun wrestled in Ring of Honor (ROH). He debuted on October 1, 2005, at the New Yorker Hotel in Manhattan, losing to James Gibson. He lost once again the following night to Christopher Daniels and again two weeks later to Roderick Strong, causing him to (kayfabe) take some time away from the company.

He returned to ROH in January 2006 where he recorded his first win in ROH, teaming with Matt Sydal and Jack Evans in the Trios Tournament. However, the team was ultimately defeated by The Embassy. Yun stayed with the company for several months, wrestling as Jimmy Yang and using the same martial arts based persona he adopted in WCW. His entrance music was the theme from the spoof martial arts film The Last Dragon, and he even brought in the film's star Taimak (referred to in his appearances as 'Bruce Leroy', the name of his character) to help him in a feud with Embassy member Jimmy Rave.


World Wrestling Entertainment (2006-present)

Appearance on Heat
In May 2006, Yun made a return to WWE, as Akio, on an edition of HEAT, working as a jobber in a try-out match with Charlie Haas. This match impressed WWE and they re-signed him once more.


Jimmy Wang Yang (Return in WWE)
Beginning with the August 25, 2006 edition of SmackDown! vignettes began airing featuring Yun dressed as a babyface cowboy and calling himself Jimmy Wang Yang. In the vignettes, Yang questioned why people would assume stereotypical Asian things about him while proclaiming that he was much more of a redneck, and that was something he was proud of. The vignettes played for several weeks with Yang focusing more on his redneck leanings. On the September 29 SmackDown!, he made his in-ring debut in a loss to Sylvain, who illegally used the ropes for leverage to get a pin. This led to a feud with Sylvan. Weeks later, on November 3, Yang debuted his valet, Amy Zidian, though she was released from WWE just a month later after backstage trouble with the other divas.

In December 2006, Yang feuded with Gregory Helms over the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Yang challenged Helms for the Cruiserweight title and lost to him at Armageddon. Later, he participated in a Cruiserweight open at No Way Out for the Cruiserweight title. In early 2007, Wang Yang would begin a feud with Chavo. On the June 15 edition of Smackdown, Wang Yang finally became the number 1 contender for the Cruiserweight Championship, after feuding with Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero for almost two months. He later teamed up with Shannon Moore to defeat Daivari and Jamie Noble in a Tag Team Match. At Vengeance, Yang lost to Chavo after a Frog Splash. On the July 6 edition of SmackDown, Yang faced off in a match against Chris Masters which he eventually lost. After the match, The Great Khali came and attacked Yang. On July 13, Yang was defeated by Finlay and attacked by Hornswoggle post-match. On the July 20 edition of Smackdown, Jimmy Wang Yang competed in a 20-man Battle Royal for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship. He lasted until the last 6, eliminating Chris Masters and Chavo Guerrero before being eliminated by Hornswoggle (a non-participant who assisted Finlay from outside the ring by pulling him out without the referee seeing). During The Great American Bash, Yang competed in the cruiserweight open. Although he was never pinned, Hornswoggle won the title. On the July 27 edition of Smackdown, Jimmy Wang Yang & Torrie Wilson teamed up for the Main Event against Kenny Dykstra & Victoria, Jimmy Wang Yang & Torrie Wilson won the match after Yang pinned Dykstra following a Moonsault off the top rope. Following this match Torrie would appear as Yang's new valet.

On the February 12th episode of SmackDown!, Jamie Noble, in order to weed out the competition for the vacant Cruiserweight Championship, told Deuce 'N Domino that Yang had been making "lewd remarks" about Domino's (Kayfabe) sister and manager, Cherry. Deuce demanded a match against Yang from acting General Manager Vickie Guerrero. Yang ended up winning the match with his signature Moonsault from the top rope, but received a beating from Deuce, Domino and Cherry after the match.[1] The next week, Yang and Shannon Moore teamed up against Deuce 'N Domino in a tag team match, which Yang and Moore won.

James William Reiher, Jr., (born September 1, 1971) better known as Jimmy Snuka, Jr., is a professional wrestler and the adopted son of professional wrestler "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment working on the SmackDown! brand, where he is a former WWE Tag Team Champion, with his partner Domino, as well as in farm territory Ohio Valley Wrestling under the ring name Deuce.

Prior to getting in the wrestling business, he worked as a youth counselor and a TV cameraman in Utah.

Reiher is an adopted member of the Anoa'i wrestling family. His father is Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, his great-uncle is "High Chief" Peter Maivia, his uncles are The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) and "Soulman" Rocky Johnson, and his cousins are Yokozuna, Rosey, The Tonga Kid, Junior Fatu, Umaga, and The Rock.

On May 24, 2005, Reiher, as Deuce Shade defeated Chad Wicks in an OVW Television Championship tournament match he later went on to beat Ken Doane for the OVW Television Championship on June 7, 2005. He lost it back to Doane later that month. On August 24, 2005, Reiher won a #1 Contenders Battle Royal to earn the right to face OVW Champion Johnny Jeter, but he lost this match.

In January 2006, Reiher started teaming with Domino, calling themselves "The Throw-backs". On March 19, 2006, Reiher defeated Mike Mizanin to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship for his team. The team lost their titles on April 5, 2006 in a 3-way match to Roadkill & K.C James, the match also involved Kenny & Mikey of Spirit Squad.

On the January 19, 2007 edition of SmackDown!, Deuce, his partner Domino, and their valet Cherry debuted with their 1950s pop culture gimmick, squashing a jobber team, and doing the same to another jobber team the next week. On the February 2, 2007 edition of SmackDown!, they defeated WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick. They earned a chance at the WWE Tag Team Champions for the championship at No Way Out, but failed to win the titles. On the April 13 edition of SmackDown!, Deuce and Domino got a chance at the tag titles again, but lost after Deuce got them disqualified. The next week on SmackDown!, they beat Kendrick and London to win the tag team titles. On the May 25 edition of SmackDown!, Kendrick and London competed against William Regal and Dave Taylor, but Deuce 'N Domino interfered by disqualifying Regal and Taylor. This made both teams number 1 contenders, which lead to a triple threat tag match the next week where Deuce 'N Domino retained the titles. On June 24, Deuce and Domino issued an open challenge at Vengeance, which was accepted by Jimmy Snuka (Deuce's father) and Sgt. Slaughter. Deuce and Domino retained their titles, albeit barely.

On June 29, 2007, Domino suffered an injury during a match with Cryme Tyme. After the match, Cryme Tyme stole their car while they were celebrating in the ring. On the last day of August in an edition of SmackDown!, he and Domino lost their tag team titles to Montel Vontavious Porter and Matt Hardy.

Festus!

Andrew William Hankinson is an American professional wrestler currently signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) appearing on it's SmackDown! brand under the ringname Festus.

Early career
Hankinson began his career in Pennsylvania with the World Star Wrestling Federation (AWA/World Star Wrestling), Summit Wrestling Association of Southern Pennsylvania, and Maryland-based National Wrestling League, wrestling as Dorian Deville. In April 2005, he was signed to a contract by World Wrestling Entertainment and assigned to the Deep South Wrestling (DSW) developmental territory, where he formed a partnership with Palmer Cannon. Hankinson wrestled in DSW as Deacon Deville before changing his ring name to The Freakin' Deacon.


World Wrestling Entertainment

Imposter Kane (2006)
On May 29, 2006, the Wrestling Observer reported that Hankinson debuted on WWE RAW, confronting Kane while dressed in Kane's original ring attire, complete with a full face mask. Without saying a word, Hankinson chokeslammed Kane. The two continued to battle one another over subsequent weeks, the impersonator continually gaining the upper hand; this led to a match being scheduled for Vengeance. Hankinson went on to defeat Kane at Vengeance with a chokeslam. On the following episode of RAW, Hankinson was beaten down by the real Kane, who then tore the mask from his face and threw him out of the arena, claiming that it belonged to him. This marked Hankinson's last appearance on RAW.

Following his feud with Kane, Hankinson returned to Deep South Wrestling, in addition to appearing at SmackDown! house shows as The Freakin' Deacon. In late January he formed a tag team with G-Rilla.


Smackdown! (2007)
On the May 11, 2007 edition of SmackDown!, a vignette aired suggesting that Hankinson would be repackaged as Festus Dalton as part of a tag team using a 'Southern' gimmick, alongside fellow WWE developmental talent Ray Gordy. On June 2, 2007, however, it was reported that WWE was dropping the "Dalton Boys" gimmick. The explanation for the reason they didn't show up on Smackdown was because (kayfabe) they got lost on their way to the arena. Hankinson and Gordy had actually been sent back to OVW and Hankinson changed his name to Justice Dalton. It marked the third time Hankinson had been dropped from the main roster.

On the June 29, 2007 edition of SmackDown!, vignettes hyping Jesse and Festus began to air. On the September 7, 2007 edition of SmackDown!, there was a segment featuring Jesse and Festus now actually in the arena rather than in a studio. On October 5th, Hankinson won his debut match on Smackdown! with his partner Jesse. When the opening bell rang, Festus' persona changed into a very focused competitor as compared to the aloof, absent-minded character he had portrayed. When the bell rang signifying the end of the match, Festus returned to his "normal" self.

Cody Rhodes

Cody Runnels (born June 30, 1985), also known as Cody Rhodes, is an American professional wrestler currently signed by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to its RAW brand as well as its developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling.

Runnels is the son of Dusty Rhodes as well as the half-brother of Dustin Rhodes and brother of Kevin Runnels (Kevin Rhodes). He is also nephew to Fred Ottman (better known as "Typhoon" or "Tugboat"), and godson of Magnum T.A..

Cody had a successful high school wrestling career, attending Lassiter High School. He won the Georgia state tournament his Junior year at 189 lbs. (going undefeated) and successfully defended the 189 lb. title his Senior year.

Runnels formed a Tag Team with Shawn Spears in mid August of 2006 and began feuding with Deuce & Domino for the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship, capturing the gold from Deuce & Domino twice -- on October 18 and December 13, 2006.

While still OVW Southern Tag Champions, a rift developed between Cody and partner Spears. The two began to feud after Spears became jealous of Cody's success as a singles wrestler. This started when Cody won the OVW Heavyweight Championship from Paul Burchill at a house show on February 17, 2007, only to lose it back the next day. Spears went on to win the OVW Television Championship in response. On March 31, 2007 at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony Cody, alongside Dustin, inducted their father Dusty Rhodes into the Hall of Fame. On April 11, the duo lost the Southern Tag Titles. Cody went on to defeat his now heated rival on July 6, 2007, to become the new OVW Television Champion. Cody would then lose the TV Title back to Spears exactly one week later.

World Wrestling Entertainment
On June 30, 2007, Rhodes participated in a Dark Match before SmackDown!'s television tapings, in a match where he defeated Daivari. In that match with Daivari, he was hit with an elbow to the head and had a severe cut; after the match, he was carried by the referees to the back of the arena to get stitches.

On the July 2, edition of RAW, Cody appeared backstage with his father Dusty Rhodes and Randy Orton, where Orton introduced himself to Cody and then slapped Dusty Rhodes as a sign of disrespect. On July 9, Cody slapped Orton in return. The following week, Cody faced Orton in his debut WWE match with his father at ringside, but was pinned after an RKO. Cody appeared at The Great American Bash to prevent further damage to his father from Orton. The next night on RAW Cody challenged Orton to a rematch from the previous week, only to be pinned again in a losing effort. Randy followed this up by kicking Cody's father in the head, similar to how he (kayfabe) nearly ended the careers of Rob Van Dam and Shawn Michaels.

After a 0-2 start on live television, Cody was told by Jonathan Coachman on the July 30 edition of RAW that if he did not win his next match he would be fired. Soon after, Cody had his first victory by pinning Daivari, while sporting a badly bruised left eye. This started a feud with Daivari. 2 weeks later, he defeated Charlie Haas and the next week defeated Shelton Benjamin, both members of The World's Greatest Tag Team, and was assaulted by them after defeating Shelton Benjamin. The next week, he, Paul London and Brian Kendrick beat The World's Greatest Tag Team and Daivari in a 6 man tag match. One week later, Rhodes teamed up with Mickie James to defeat Daivari and Jillian Hall, with Rhodes executing a flowing snap DDT on Daivari to get the pinfall. He also went to the aid of John Cena's father Mr. Cena, who was in a match against Randy Orton, but got beat up by Randy Orton.

Three weeks later, he began a feud with Hardcore Holly and has lost three consecutive matches to him.

Michael "The Miz" Mizanin (born October 8, 1980) is an American professional wrestler working for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on its ECW brand.

Mizanin is best known for his time on numerous MTV reality shows prior to becoming a professional wrestler.

Mizanin, a native of Parma, Ohio, attended Miami University, where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity, and studied business at the Richard T. Farmer School of Business. During his freshman year, he roomed with former Miami RedHawks member Nick Jardine, and bodybuilding male gymnast Todd J. Hartman.

Mizanin later relocated to southern California in order to attend acting classes. He also visited high schools and colleges, delivering motivational speeches.

Mizanin dropped out of college in order to appear on the tenth season of MTV's reality television program The Real World in 2001. He went on to appear in multiple spin-offs, including seasons 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge with contestants from MTV's Road Rules. He appeared on the Challenge seasons Battle of the Seasons, The Gauntlet, The Inferno, Battle of the Sexes 2, and The Inferno 2. He was known for doing well on the challenges and made it to the end of them all except for Battle of the Sexes 2, winning Battle of the Seasons and The Inferno 2.

It was during an episode of The Real World that Mizanin first displayed an alter ego known as "The Miz". In contrast to Mizanin's usually placid demeanor, The Miz was angry, confrontational and headstrong. Mizanin later realized that "The Miz" would make an excellent professional wrestling gimmick.

Mizanin had a number of relationships during his various "Challenge seasons"; during The Gauntlet he dated Trishelle Cannatella of The Real World: Las Vegas, during The Inferno he had a relationship with Kendal Sheppard of Road Rules: Campus Crawl, and during Battle of the Seasons he had another brief relationship with Tara McDaniel of Road Rules: Northern Trail.

He's also known for his roller coaster friendship with Coral Smith on The Real World and various Real World/Road Rules Challenges after.

In 2004, he appeared on the Bravo reality show Battle of the Network Reality Stars where his team finished second.

Mizanin was also a contestant in the Reality Stars episode of Fear Factor. His partner was his former girlfriend and cast mate, Trishelle Cannatella, and the two of them ended up winning the competition.

On April 20, 2007, he appeared on the game show Identity, where he appeared as a stranger, and contestant John Kim correctly identified his identity as a professional wrestler.

Pursuing the goal of becoming a professional wrestler which he had harbored from an early age, Mizanin joined Ultimate Pro Wrestling, where he trained in the Ultimate University. He made his in-ring debut in 2003.

In October 2004, Mizanin entered the fourth season of Tough Enough, a televised competition which would award the winner a World Wrestling Entertainment contract and the sum of $1,000,000. Despite coming last in an arm wrestling tournament on November 25, 2004, Mizanin outlasted six other wrestlers. On December 12, 2004 at Armageddon 2004, Mizanin faced the other remaining entrant, Daniel Puder, in a three round "Dixie Dogfight" (boxing match). Neither man achieved a knockout, and the contest was awarded to Puder on the basis of crowd reaction. On the December 16, 2004 episode of SmackDown!, Puder was announced as the winner of Tough Enough by head trainer Al Snow.

Despite losing the Tough Enough contest, Mizanin had piqued the interest of WWE, and he was eventually offered a developmental contract. Mizanin was sent to Deep South Wrestling to train under Bill DeMott, relocating to McDonough, Georgia in the process. In July 2005 he wrestled two dark matches for WWE, teaming with former Tough Enough champion Matt Cappotelli to face The Highlanders. On December 1, 2005, Mizanin defeated Mike Knox in the finals of a tournament to crown the first Deep South Heavyweight Champion.

He continued to tag with Matt Cappotelli throughout the second half of 2005 in WWE dark matches and house shows until Cappotelli, nominally of Ohio Valley Wrestling, was diagnosed with a brain tumor after an injury at a taping in December 2005.

Ohio Valley Wrestling
On January 3, 2006, it was reported that Mizanin was transferred to Ohio Valley Wrestling. On the January 18, 2006, OVW TV show, Mizanin made his debut as "The Miz", with a "Miz TV" segment, where he was shown talking backstage. He talked with Chris Cage, who was supposed to be his tag team partner in OVW, but Cage said he was quitting the business after someone had cut off Johnny Jeter's hair and wished Mizanin good luck with his wrestling career. As Chris Cage left, Mike then met with his old tag team partner Matt Cappotelli and Christy Hemme as later that night they had a six person tag team match as Christy Hemme, Matt Cappotelli, and Mike Mizanin defeated The Highlanders.

On the January 28, 2006, edition of the OVW TV show, The Miz wrestled his first match against Rene Dupree. Chet the Jet and Seth Skyfire came to ringside during the match and acted as a diversion to allow Rene Dupree to gain the upper hand on The Miz. As The Miz was about to finish Rene Dupree, Chris Cage came out and attacked Seth Skyfire. When The Miz left the ring to try to control Chris Cage, he ended up losing the match by count out.

At the February 8, 2006 TV taping, The Miz and Chris Cage captured the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship, defeating Chet the Jett and Seth Skyfire. In what was deemed a "disciplinary move," WWE released Chris Cage over the weekend of March 18, 2006 making it necessary for Miz and Cage to drop the titles. On March 19, 2006, Deuce Shade defeated The Miz in a singles contest to win the titles for his team The Untouchables (Deuce Shade & Domino). On June 8, 2007 he lost to Atlas DaBone at OVW's second Summer Sizzler Series event at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky.


SmackDown!
On March 8, 2006, WWE.com featured a video of "The Miz" stating that he was headed to Friday Night SmackDown! and throughout April, SmackDown! aired vignettes hyping his debut. However, when Mizanin actually attempted to make his debut on the April 21, 2006 edition of SmackDown! he was (kayfabe) barred from entering the arena by "network executive" Palmer Cannon who told him that he had been "canceled" before having security escort him from the premises.

In May 31, 2006, WWE.com announced that he would serve as SmackDown!'s "host" on May 31.

Miz debuted as the "host" on June 2, 2006, announcing the planned card at the top of the show and attempting to hype up the crowd. Other "host" duties included backstage interviews and hosting a bikini contest. The hosting duties seemed sporadic at best, with some weeks having little to no Miz at all.

Starting in July, Miz, along with Ashley Massaro, became host of the annual Diva Search competition appearing on both RAW and SmackDown!. At the start of his new hosting duties, in front of the live RAW crowd, Miz was noticeably nervous and flubbed his lines, including calling contestants by the wrong name. Though he seemed to get better as the weeks went on, he quickly became the butt of on-air jokes by other WWE Superstars.

After the end of the Diva Search competition, The Miz returned exclusively to SmackDown! and adopted a cocky heel persona, starting his in-ring competition with a win over Tatanka on September 1, 2006. After this win he, along with commentator Michael Cole, began to note whenever possible that he was "undefeated", though he only wrestled five matches over the next two months, defeating such superstars as Matt Hardy and Scotty 2 Hotty. At the same time he began a feud with Diva Search winner Layla El, who spurned his advances on more than one occasion, leading to Miz helping Kristal defeat her in various competitions. Soon, however, Miz and Kristal found themselves being stalked by the returning Boogeyman, beginning a feud during which The Boogeyman handed Miz his first defeat at Armageddon.

Following a brief absence from TV, Miz returned to SmackDown! to host an interview segment called Miz TV. After the segment went nowhere, Mizanin returned to wrestling with a more intense style and began to pick up wins once again. On the June 11, 2007 edition of RAW, Mizanin faced off against Snitsky in a match to determine a draft pick for SmackDown!. Snitsky easily squashed Mizanin to give ECW the pick, but after constantly attacking The Miz after the match, the referee reversed the decision and awarded the match to Mizanin, thus allowing SmackDown! a draft pick. SmackDown!'s pick was then revealed to be Chris Masters.


ECW
Miz was drafted from SmackDown! to ECW on June 17, 2007 as part of the 2007 Supplemental Draft. He was absent from the first few weeks of ECW, though he was the subject of backstage mentions between matches and had several short Miz TV Crashes ECW video segments. He made his debut on the July 10 edition of ECW in a match against Nunzio, which he won. Following this match, Extreme Exposé began expressing admiration in him and gave him a lap-dance, starting a new gimmick for him of a self-proclaimed "chick magnet". Extreme Expose then became managers for The Miz. He then began a feud with Balls Mahoney, after Kelly Kelly began to kayfabe fall in love with Balls. On the October 2 edition of ECW, it was revealed that Miz kayfabe owned the contracts of Kelly Kelly, Layla El and Brooke Adams, and used this excuse to stop Kelly from going out with Mahoney. He was voted at Cyber Sunday to face CM Punk, but lost the match.

Balls Mahoney

Jonathan Rechner (born April 11, 1972) better known by his ring name Balls Mahoney, is an American professional wrestler. Mahoney is perhaps best known for his appearances with Extreme Championship Wrestling in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment wrestling on its ECW brand.

Smoky Mountain Wrestling
Jon Rechner started wrestling in 1987 by training at the Monster Factory and wrestling in the independents under the name Abbudah Singh. He made a small name for himself as the heel Boo Bradley (a take-off of the character Boo Radley from "To Kill a Mockingbird") in 1994 in Smoky Mountain Wrestling where he had a long feud with his (kayfabe) childhood friend, Chris Candido. He was originally allied with Candido and managed by Tammy Sytch, who abused him for months, but they eventually turned on him, killing his pet cat, and turning him face in the process. Bradley briefly formed a team with Cactus Jack who convinced him to be his own person.


World Wrestling Federation
In 1995, he briefly appeared in the World Wrestling Federation as Xanta Klaus. During a December "In Your House" PPV, while Savio Vega and "Santa Claus" were at ringside handing out presents and playing to the fans, heel manager The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase appeared. DiBiase proclaimed that everyone had a price, even Santa. As Vega argued with DiBiase, "Santa" jumped him from behind and attacked him. DiBiase laughed his trademark laugh and introduced this warped Santa as Xanta Klaus, Santa's evil brother from the South Pole who steals presents. As Xanta, Rechner made only a couple more appearances (one on the following night's Monday Night Raw), before never being mentioned again.


Extreme Championship Wrestling
In 1997 Rechner signed with Extreme Championship Wrestling and finally became a star as Balls Mahoney. Capitalizing on the ECW crowd's lust for violence and the hardcore attitude Rechner was never seen without his signature steel chair, usually with some kind of writing or sign placed on it, which he would use to bash any opponent at any time. He would come to the ring to the AC/DC song Big Balls and lead the crowd in singing the chorus before or after his matches. While in ECW he teamed with Axl Rotten, a similar hardcore and violent wrestler, and the duo became informally known as the "Hardcore Chair Swinging Freaks". Later he would tag with Masato Tanaka and win the Tag Team Titles. He would also join forces with Spike Dudley and hold the gold twice more before the demise of ECW in 2001.

During an exchange of blows, ECW fans would often chant "Balls!" When Rechner landed a punch or kick on an opponent, and "Suck!" when his opponent retaliated. This gimmick was inherited from Hack Meyers.


Independent circuit
After ECW folded Rechner spent time in a number of independent federations across America, most notably USA Pro Wrestling (UXW) as well as Juggalo Championshit Wrestling where he united with The Dead Pool (Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope, and Raven) to become The Dead Pool 2000. He also had a brief run in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, teaming with The Sandman to face off against The Gathering.


World Wrestling Entertainment
In 2005, Mahoney made a non-wrestling appearance at the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) promoted ECW One Night Stand reunion show, taking part -- alongside Axl Rotten -- in a brawl with Kid Kash, Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman, the Dudley Boyz, and the Blue World Order before the main event. After the main event, Mahoney and Rotten returned to the ring to brawl with the "invading" Raw and SmackDown! wrestlers.

In 2006, when WWE relaunched ECW as their own brand, one of the first announcements was the signing of Balls Mahoney. His signing was announced with that of Axl Rotten, but when Rotten missed some WWE dates and was released, Balls was left to start a singles career.

During the "cross promotion" hype Balls appeared on the June 5, episode of RAW with other ECW wrestlers who proceeded to attack WWE Champion John Cena. He appeared again as a part of the ECW team in the "WWE vs. ECW team battle royal" at the WWE vs. ECW Head to Head event on June 7. The next night a match between Balls Mahoney and Masato Tanaka was officially added to the 2006 One Night Stand pay-per-view, which Balls won following a chair shot (denting the chair) to Tanaka's head.

When ECW on Sci Fi debuted, Balls started off with a small role in the company, having sporadic matches and little else. However, once the show got going he started to appear in vignettes talking about how tough he is, elevating his role on the show. On the September 12 episode of ECW on Sci Fi Mahoney entered a feud with Kevin Thorn after Thorn and his valet Ariel cost him a match against René Duprée. The following week, he brought Francine to ringside with him, marking her first televised appearance at the revived ECW ring, where she proceeded to get into a catfight with Ariel. That pairing, however, was short lived as Francine was released shortly after. On the January 2, 2007 edition of ECW on Sci Fi, Mahoney had one of his front teeth (legitly) knocked out during a match with Kevin Thorn.

Shortly after, Balls began a short feud with Snitsky. On the June 4 edition of ECW, Balls, Tommy Dreamer, and Sandman faced Bobby Lashley in a 3 on 1 Hardcore Handicap Match for the ECW Championship, in which they were defeated. On the August 7, 2007 episode of ECW, Balls went against The Miz in a losing effort. During and after the match, it appeared that Kelly Kelly was concerned about him. Over the weeks that followed, he attempted to ask her out to dinner and flirted with her backstage, but was interrupted by The Miz, Brooke, and Layla before Kelly could get a word in. Regardless, Kelly still showed interest in him each week, wishing him good luck before his match, winking at him, and cheering him on during his match. On the September 18, 2007 edition of ECW, after defeating Mike Knox in a match, he asked Kelly Kelly if she would go out with him to which she couldn't respond due to The Miz and Extreme Expose' taking her backstage.

Beth Phoenix

Elizabeth Carolan née Kocanski (born November 24, 1980) better known by her ring name Beth Phoenix, is an American professional wrestler currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment wrestling on Raw where she is the current reigning WWE Women's Champion.

Amateur wrestling and early career
Beth began wrestling on the Elmira, New York Notre Dame High School scholastic wrestling team. She was the first female varsity wrestler in her high school's history. She became the North-East freestyle women's champion (72 kg weight class) in 1999. She also became the women's champion (72 kg weight class) at the New York State Fair Tournament in 1999 and was named the most outstanding wrestler that same year in the Brockport Freestyle Tournament. At the time she was also a member of USA Wrestling (a freestyle wrestling club). Her life goal was, according to her, to become a professional wrestler and she believed that having a solid amateur background would help her reach it. After graduating from high school in 1999, she enrolled in both a professional wrestling school and Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Her first choice for wrestling school was Stu Hart's Dungeon, but because of the location she decided on a more local school. At the school, she was trained by the "All Knighters"--Joey Knight and Robin Knightwing, who themselves had trained in the Hart Dungeon. She made the rounds competing with various independent companies including a match against Lexis Wine for the now defunct MadMar Entertainment in which her back was cut open when a steel chair accidentally cut her.


Ohio Valley Wrestling
Beth debuted on Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) television in July 2004 as the on-screen girlfriend and valet of Chris Masters. The angle was short lived and the following month Beth was repackaged as the manager of Aaron "The Idol" Stevens. The duo was then joined by Shelly Martinez who Beth soon feuded with in early 2006. Beth then stopped appearing regularly on OVW after debuting on WWE's Raw television show.

On August 16, 2006, Beth returned to action in OVW as the surprise opponent for Serena in a number one contenders match - she was hand picked by OVW Women's Champion ODB herself to be the opponent. After a distraction from Charles Evans, Phoenix picked up the win hitting Serena.

The following week, both Serena & Phoenix wanted a title shot, so ODB said if they can beat her in a tag match, the pinfall winner would receive a shot. Serena won the match for her and Beth's team by pinning newcomer Katie Lea (but only after Beth was forced to leave the ring as she wasn't the legal woman in the match). So, in the interest of fairness, the following week, it was announced that there would be a women's battle royal with the title on the line - Beth, Serena, Katie Lea, and ODB were the final four women in the ring, with ODB eventually coming out on top.

The following week, ODB put her women's title on the line in a four-way match that also featured Beth, Serena & Katie Lea. Serena won the match, but after the match Phoenix laid out Serena with her newly won belt. At the October 4, 2006 OVW TV tapings, Beth defeated Serena to capture the OVW Women's Championship. On the November 4, 2006 show, Beth lost the OVW women's title to Katie Lea in a gauntlet match - defeating Roni Jonah, Melody, Ariel, and Jenny Mae first. Lea, Serena, ODB, and Beth were the final four in the match with Lea taking the win.

Phoenix and Lea entered into a feud with each other, with Beth claiming that Lea never defeated her for her title so she was still the champion; Beth even came out with her own version of the OVW Women's Championship. This brought out Danny Basham OVW's TroubleShooter, who told Beth her title wasn't real, and that after doing some digging Lea's title wasn't real either. Basham set up a ladder match where the winner would become the undisputed OVW Women's Champion. Lea won the match, and was presented with the title belt on the first show of 2007. Phoenix took the belt from Basham, and after taking a look for herself, handed the Belt to Lea and shook her hand. In early 2007, Beth became involved in a "love triangle" along with Dan Rodman and Jacob Duncan. After the "love triangle" angle ended, Beth continued to manage Jacob Duncan in OVW.

Beth made her last appearance in OVW at their August 15, 2007 TV tapings where she lost to Katie Lea in a No.1 Contenders Match and then joined the main WWE roster full-time.


World Wrestling Entertainment

2006
Beth Phoenix debuted on the May 8, 2006 episode of Raw as a face attacking then heel, Mickie James during James' assault on Trish Stratus. After this incident, James berated Phoenix for "ruining everything" and questioned why she even showed up in the first place. A week later, Phoenix was formally introduced by Trish Stratus and then battered a distracted James on Stratus' behalf. When James finally escaped, Phoenix claimed that James had ruined her life and wouldn't let her get away with it, before calling her a psycho.

On the following edition of Raw, Phoenix, now an official Raw diva, again attacked the Women's Champion after her match with Torrie Wilson. Then, on the May 29, 2006 episode of RAW, Beth teamed up with Torrie Wilson (with Stratus in their corner) to take on Candice Michelle and Victoria (with Mickie James in their corner). Phoenix got the pin on Candice.

During the June 5, 2006 episode of Raw, Beth suffered a fractured mandible during a match with Victoria, but was victorious despite the injury. She was then out of action for a little over a year after having surgery to place a titanium plate into her jaw.


2007

Phoenix as Women's Champion.On the July 9, 2007 edition of Raw, Phoenix returned as a heel when Melina claimed to be injured and needed a replacement as Jillian Hall's tag team partner. At the SummerSlam pay-per-view, Phoenix won the Interpromotional Divas Battle Royal to become the number one contender for Candice Michelle's WWE Women's Championship. Phoenix was then pushed as a dominating Diva, calling herself a "Glamazon" and attacking Mickie James, Jillian Hall and Candice on the September 10 edition of Raw. However, at Unforgiven, she failed to capture the Women's Championship from Candice. Their storyline feud continued when Phoenix pinned Candice during a non-title mixed tag team match on RAW on September 24. At No Mercy, Phoenix defeated Candice to win her first Women's title.

Val Venis

Sean Allen Morley (born on March 6, 1971 in Oakville, Ontario) better known by his ring name Val Venis, is a Canadian professional wrestler. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment wrestling on the RAW brand.

Before becoming a wrestler, Morley studied at the London School of Economics where he developed his philanthropic skills. Upon graduating, he became a motorcycle racer. He began his wrestling training in the early 1990s under the tutelage of Jason and Dewey "The Missing Link" Robertson and debuted on the Canadian independent scene before making his way to the international circuit, finding work with All Japan Pro Wrestling in Japan and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in Mexico. In Japan he was known as Sean Morgan as the name Morley was difficult to pronounce due to the lack of phonetic differences between the L and R in Japanese. In Mexico, he adopted a robot-like mask and gimmick, changing his name to Steel and won the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship.


World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment

1998-1999
Morley was signed to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in the late '90s and given the gimmick of a (well endowed) porn star named Val Venis, something which grew out of Morley's own sense of humor. The character was introduced with a series of vignettes that showcased Venis' life style on and off the set, the most notable of these featuring Venis in bed with prominent real-life porn star Jenna Jameson.

He debuted on the May 18, 1998 episode of RAW is War, defeating Scorpio. Almost immediately, he was involved in an angle with the Kaientai stable, involving him having an affair with the wife of Kaientai's manager, Yamaguchi-San. As a result, the members of Kaientai tied him up backstage where Yamaguchi-san attempted to castrate him with a sword. The next week, however, he reported that he was saved by "a little shrinkage" and help from his friend, John Wayne Bobbitt.

At the end of the year he formed a short lived tag team with The Godfather, unofficially dubbed "Supply and Demand".

Venis had more female troubles at the start of 1999, feuding with Intercontinental Champion Ken Shamrock after Venis made a film starring him and Shamrock's kayfabe sister Ryan called Shaving Ryan's Privates. During the feud he won the Intercontinental title at February's St. Valentine's Day Massacre with the help of Special Guest Referee Billy Gunn. A few days later, he broke up with Ryan and eventually lost the Intercontinental title to Road Dogg. Throughout the rest of the year, he found himself having "woman troubles" with Nicole Bass, Chyna and Debra. He also had short feuds with Mankind, The Rock and Steve Austin and found himself re-teaming with The Godfather for a short tag team feud with Droz and Albert.

In December, Venis defeated The British Bulldog and D'Lo Brown at Armageddon in a Triple Threat match to win the European Championship.


2000-2002
During the beginning of 2000, Venis lost the European Championship to Kurt Angle. A few months later, he turned heel by aligning himself with then heel, Trish Stratus. With Stratus as his manager, and a new look -- including a haircut, white boots and trunks -- and the near total disposal of the porn star gimmick, he defeated Rikishi Phatu to win the Intercontinental Championship for a second time and aligned himself with Test and Albert. Venis was put over by taking a splash from Rikishi from the top of a 15-foot high steel cage at the Fully Loaded pay per view, and still going on to defeat Rikishi later in the match. His manager, Stratus, inadvertently lost Venis' Intercontinental title to Chyna in a mixed tag match involving Venis, Stratus, Chyna and her partner Eddie Guerrero at SummerSlam that same year.

Shortly after, Venis underwent a complete change in persona and became a member of the Right to Censor (RTC) stable. Venis joined RTC after being kayfabe abducted by Bull Buchanan and The Goodfather (Venis' former partner, "The Godfather"). He became a censorship-based character, directly contrasting with his previously provocative on-screen character. He stayed in RTC until they disbanded right before the Invasion storyline, feuding with Chyna and "The One" Billy Gunn during his tenure with the group. When RTC broke up and The Invasion began, Venis disappeared from WWF television while recovering from surgery on his hip to remove bone spurs from his motorcycle racing days. After recovering, he was kept off television along with several other wrestlers, for whom WWE bookers could not come up with any storylines.

Venis returned, back in his old gimmick, at the 2002 Royal Rumble before going on to RAW. On RAW he had two very short feuds with Steve Austin and Mr. Perfect before being drafted to SmackDown! during the brand extension.

On SmackDown! he aligned himself with the likes of Edge and Randy Orton and feuded with Chris Jericho, Deacon Batista, Ron Simmons and Reverend D-Von. Around this time he began calling himself The Big Valbowski. However, he was soon sidelined after a legitimate injury caused by gym equipment falling on him at a gym in Australia during late July 2002. After his accident, he was removed from television until doctors cleared him to return to in-ring action.

He returned to working SmackDown! dark matches in September 2002 and made one last televised appearance as Val Venis on October 26, 2002 at Rebellion, where he returned to team with Chuck Palumbo in a losing effort against Reverend D-Von and Ron Simmons.


2003-2005
He returned to TV on November 18, 2002 on RAW under his real name, Sean Morley. He was appointed "Chief of Staff" by RAW General Manager, Eric Bischoff, turning heel once again by acting as Bischoff's assistant and going by Chief Morley.

Morley became one half of the World Tag Team Champions with Lance Storm after Storm's partner, William Regal, was sidelined with an illness. Storm and Morley successfully defended the World Tag Team Title on an edition of HEAT prior to WrestleMania XIX against Rob Van Dam and Kane with help from the Dudley Boyz, only to lose them to Kane and RVD the next night.

Morley was "fired" from his assistant job by Bischoff after he lost a RAW match to Jerry "the King" Lawler in which Jim Ross' job was on the line. He was quickly "rehired" by co-G.M., Steve Austin as Val Venis.

Throughout 2004 and the first half of 2005 Morley became a face again, once again using the name Val Venis, but did not get much in the way of a push. Venis reformed his previous tag team with Lance Storm as faces, but the partnership faded and Venis became utilized mainly as a "jobber to the stars".

To end 2005 he formed another team, V-Squared, with "The 500 pound love machine", Viscera. While wrestling on HEAT, they squashed a number of other tag teams before they defeated World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch on an episode of RAW. After beating the champions again, by pinfall, in a non-title match, V-Squared was defeated in a fatal-four way along with The Heart Throbs, Snitsky and Tyson Tomko, and Kane and The Big Show.


2006-present

Daivari wrestling with Venis.Venis and Viscera continued to team in 2006, getting another shot at Kane and The Big Show's title, while occasionally having solo matches. In March 2006 Venis suffered a kayfabe injury at the hands of The Spirit Squad which allowed him to take time off for legitimate elbow surgery, during which about a dozen more bone spurs were removed, six others were shaved down, and a nerve was transplanted. While he was out, Viscera began teaming with Charlie Haas, leaving Venis to team with Snitsky upon his return in a team that didn't last long.

Venis began a feud with Eugene on Heat when Eugene interrupted and attacked him during a "Kiss Cam" segment on December 4.

In February 2007, Venis was given a video program entitled Sex University on WWE.com, which lasted until April when it and its archives were removed from the site for unknown reasons.

Venis would make his return to WWE programming,on Monday Night RAW, embarking in a feud with Santino Marella.

Lance Cade

Lance Cade, born on March 2, 1980, is an American professional wrestler, currently wrestling on the RAW brand of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He and Trevor Murdoch are the current World Tag Team Champions.

Lance Cade started his wrestling career by becoming a student of Shawn Michaels at the Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy in San Antonio, Texas in 1999.


Japan
Lance Cade and fellow wrestler Bryan Danielson went to Japan on December 1, 1999. They competed in Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling(FMW).[2] Cade and Danielson competed in tag teams and then went their separate ways; Cade stayed in FMW and faced off against ECW wrestler Balls Mahoney in tag team matches and a three way dance against another FMW wrestler. Cade left FMW after he was defeated by Mahoney in a three way dance on February 25, 2000.


Heartland Wrestling Association

2001-2002
After Lance Cade signed with WWE, he was sent to Memphis Championship Wrestling in 2001. During the summer of that same year, he was moved to Les Thatcher's HWA (Heartland Wrestling Association). Cade quickly formed a tag-team with Surfer Cody Hawk, but the team split after only a few months when Cade joined the World Championship Wrestling camp in HWA's Invasion angle. Cade aligned with Mike Sanders, a former WCW wrestler. The downfall of the team came on February 13, 2002, when Lance Cade and Mike Sanders defeated Val Venis and Steve Bradley to win the HWA Tag-Team titles. Cade and Sanders broke up that very day, and the titles were vacated. The next week, Cade faced Sanders and defeated him in a singles match, giving Cade the belts. Cade then chose Steve Bradley to be his new partner. However, Cade & Bradley had problems defeating WWE competition, as Hugh Morrus and Raven took them down in the middle of March 2002 for the titles. However, Cade and Bradley won the HWA Tag Titles three days later.

In April 2002, Cade's first HWA tag-team partner returned, as Cody Hawk and the Ice Cream Man defeated Cade & Bradley for the tag-team titles. Cade & Bradley tried for the next month to get the titles back, even winning a Tag-Team Contendership Match to get another shot, but never managed to get the titles back. In May 2002, Cade defeated Johnny the Bull to become the HWA Heavyweight Champion. Cade defended the title for 2 months before Johnny the Bull won the title back. On the same night, however, Cade defeated Johnny in a second match, becoming the 2-time Heavyweight Champ. This reign lasted only one day, as Cade, once again, lost his title to Cody Hawk.


Ohio Valley Wrestling

2003-2004, 2005
During the summer of 2002, the HWA was dropped as a developmental territory by WWE, but Cade was transferred over to WWE's main developmental company, Ohio Valley Wrestling. Cade continued to search for a strong tag-team partner to work with. He found Rene Dupree and both joined Kenny Bolin's Bolin Services. The two worked as a tag-team throughout most of their stay in OVW.

In the OVW Tag-Team Title Tournament of March 2003, Cade and Dupree defeated Matt Morgan and BJ Payne, but couldn't beat the Disciples of Synn in the finals. Cade and Dupree had another shot at Spring Break-Out 2003, but the current champions at the time were WWE regulars The APA, and Cade and Dupree couldn't overcome the odds. Mark Jindrak later joined Bolin Services. Dupree appeared in WWE only a few weeks after their title shot. Cade continued tagging with Mark Jindrak, but was promoted to the RAW brand in June 2003 under the name, Garrison Cade.

Cade was off WWE television for quite some time, due to the knee injury (which was said to be a dislocated knee). In 2005, Cade reappeared in Ohio Valley Wrestling as his former self, Lance Cade, shedding the ring rust. Cade sided with The Blueprint Matt Morgan and Vengeance (better known as ECW superstar Kevin Thorn) against the OVW Heavyweight Champion Elijah Burke. In February 2005, Cade took on Burke in a $5,000 Bounty Match (Morgan had put a bounty on Burke's head), but was defeated.

Cade faded into the background for the next few weeks, eventually making his return to the ring at the June 3 OVW Summer Sizzler Series 2005 show, taking on Al Snow. While Cade brought his cowboy hat with him, Snow brought Head, routinely turning to the mannequin head for guidance. During the match, when Cade was knocked to the outside, Snow destroyed Cade's hat, stomping on it. This made the match more personal to Cade, but in the end, Snow knocked out Cade with Head, getting the victory. Later on that night, Cade interfered in the Brent Albright/Elijah Burke OVW Heavyweight Title match, with Cade attacking the champion, Albright. The two foes had a No Disqualification, Loser Must Tap Out Match at the OVW Summer Sizzler Series 2005 show on June 17, 2005. Cade tried to pin Albright early in the match. The ref did not allow it, causing a shoving match between the two. Later in the match, Albright got his Crowbar submission on Cade, but Cade escaped, then appeared to be leaving, with Albright chasing him down. Albright got the Crowbar applied on Cade again, right on the ramp. With nowhere to go, Cade was forced to tap, losing to Albright.


World Wrestling Entertainment

2003-2004
Garrison Cade, in his first match on RAW, faced off against Lance Storm in a singles match. But when Stone Cold Steve Austin came out, chanting the word Boring , Storm became distracted, allowing Cade to sneak in and get the victory. Soon afterwards, Cade again found a tag-team partner, Mark Jindrak, to ally himself with, and began to challenge for the tag-team titles. The belts were being held by former Cade ally Rene Dupree and his new partner Sylvain Grenier, a unit collectively known as La Resistance.

Over the next few months, Cade & Jindrak fought against many different teams, from La Resistance and the babyface versions of the Dudley Boyz to battles against the top heels on RAW, Evolution. The duo also formed a semi-partnership with then babyface, Maven, helping each other out on occasion. However, Cade & Jindrak soon began to be known more for their cheating ways, rather than their abilities. This led them to turn heel and be entered into the Tag-Team Turmoil Match at Armageddon 2003, where the winner would earn the vacated World Tag Team Titles. They came in from the crowd when their turn hit and quickly rolled up The Hurricane to eliminate him and Rosey. Cade & Jindrak next faced Lance Storm and Val Venis, and Cade tripped up Venis from the outside on a suplex attempt, then held onto Venis' legs while Jindrak made the pinfall. The next team to come down were the Dudley Boyz, who eventually took out Jindrak with the 3-D to eliminate the boys. The duo got some revenge, though, attacking the Dudleys after the match before leaving, making it harder for the Dudley Boyz to come out victorious (which they did not, losing at the end to then heels, Ric Flair and Batista).

Going into 2004, Cade and Jindrak continued to work together as a team, firmly entrenched in the mid-card ranks. The team got a win in March 2004, when they defeated Hurricane and Rosey to earn a shot at the World Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania XX. Cade and Jindrak entered a four-way tag match against the champions, then babyface, Booker T and Rob Van Dam, and the other two competing teams, La Résistance and the Dudley Boyz. Cade and Jindrak lost the match though, after Rob Van Dam pinned Rob Conway.

After Jindrak was drafted to SmackDown , Cade briefly associated himself with Jonathan Coachman, helping The Coach get a win over Tajiri at Backlash 2004. Cade later teamed up with Coach at Vengeance 2004 to take on the debuting team of Rhyno and Tajiri. Cade and Coachman lost the match, and Cade was taken off WWE TV after an injury in July 2004.


2005-2006

Cade (left) with his tag team partner, Trevor Murdoch.On August 22, 2005 a promo was shown on RAW showcasing a long haired Cade, who was soon to be returning with tag team partner Trevor Murdoch. The promo showed Cade and Murdoch (as the team were known) portraying rednecks. Cade (who dropped the stage name Garrison and now wrestles under his real name) was playing the role of a smooth-talking cowboy, while Murdoch was depicted as an angry Southern trucker.

Cade and Murdoch debuted on RAW on September 5, 2005. They defeated the World Tag Team Champions, Hurricane and Rosey in a non-title match. This earned them a World Tag Team title shot at Unforgiven 2005. During the title match, Murdoch delivered an elevated DDT on The Hurricane to the outside. The DDT caused Hurricane to suffer a kayfabe stinger . It also allowed Cade and Murdoch to defeat Hurricane and Rosey for the World Tag Team championships. They defended against random teams on RAW for the next month before losing the titles to Kane and The Big Show at Taboo Tuesday 2005. After losing in a rematch the next night on RAW, Cade & Murdoch began to be squashed by other tag teams, before wrestling singles matches.

On the November 28 edition of RAW, it was announced that Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch had parted ways as a tag team. The next week, Cade debuted with the gimmick and nickname Refined Southern Gentleman and wearing new tights with rhinestones on them as well as his new jacket he wore to the ring. Cade was relegated to Heat, making very few appearances on RAW as the calendar turned to 2006. He had a chance to get into the 2006 Royal Rumble, competing with Rob Conway and Gregory Helms against the Big Show in a Second Chance Battle Royal. However, The Big Show won the spot in the Rumble.

Eventually, the Cade and Murdoch tandem reformed as they were seen helping Chris Masters and Carlito attack Kane. On the April 14, 2006 edition of Heat, it was announced that Cade & Murdoch were reuniting as a tag team after Murdoch helped Cade defeat Goldust. Cade also debuted another slight change with wet hair and shorter tights with a design similar to when he was teaming with Murdoch. On the May 19, 2006 edition of Heat Cade and Murdoch officially reformed their tag team by facing and defeating Charlie Haas and Viscera.

Cade and Murdoch next entered a short-lived feud against D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels). It started when Cade and Murdoch ambushed Shawn Michaels and Triple H, before Triple H's match with Vince McMahon on the September 11 episode of RAW. Cade and Murdoch continued to battle DX, until they were defeated in a street fight, ending the feud on October 9, 2006.


2007

Cade and Murdoch at No MercyAfter biding much of their time on RAW's sister show Heat, Cade and Murdoch began a feud in April with World Tag Team Champions The Hardys, leading to their title match at Backlash 2007, which The Hardys won. In storyline, Cade and Murdoch suddenly gained a great deal of respect for The Hardys and began to praise their abilities. The Hardys then began an alliance with Cade and Murdoch. Despite the alliance, Cade and Murdoch faced The Hardys in a rematch at Judgment Day which The Hardys won. On the June 4 edition of RAW, Cade and Murdoch were given another shot at the World Tag Team Championship against The Hardys and were successful, becoming two time World Tag Team Champions. When Cade made the pin on Jeff Hardy, Hardy's foot was on the ropes but was pushed off by Murdoch. After the match, when Matt Hardy argued with Cade and Murdoch, they attacked Matt and Jeff with the tag belts, becoming heels again. At Vengeance 2007, Cade and Murdoch defeated the Hardys to retain the gold after Cade pinned Jeff. Cade along with Murdoch lost the titles at a house show on September 5, 2007 to Paul London and Brian Kendrick on a South Africa tour. Later on, in that same tour, Cade and Murdoch won the titles back.

Ric Flair

Richard Morgan Fliehr[2] (born on February 25, 1949 in Minneapolis, Minnesota[2]) better known by his ring name Ric Flair, is an American professional wrestler of iconic staus signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) on its SmackDown! brand. Also known as "The Nature Boy," Flair is considered by some to be the greatest all-around pro wrestler of all time, as he combined superlative ring skills with unparalleled showmanship while crafting the model for the ideal champion in the modern era. Flair is recognized by WWE as a 16-time world champion, although his actual tally of world championship reigns varies by source. In World Championship Wrestling (WCW), he also had two stints as a booker—from 1989-1990 and again in 1994.[3]

According to WWE, Flair is an eight-time National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Champion, six-time WCW Champion and two-time WWE Champion. He was also the winner of the 1992 Royal Rumble.

Ric Flair was born on February 25, 1949. His birth name is not known due to a scandal at the Tennessee Children's Home Society in Memphis. His adopted parents named him Richard Fliehr. As a teen, Fliehr took a job as a lifeguard at a local pool, where he received his first exposure to the wrestling business when he met the legendary Vachon brothers. In both 1966 and 1967, Fliehr won the state private school wrestling championship; and he was then recruited to the University of Minnesota on a football scholarship, where he played alongside Greg Gagne, the son of AWA kingpin Verne Gagne. Fliehr dropped out of college before receiving his degree, and he then worked as a bouncer at a nearby club, where he met Olympic weightlifter Ken Patera, who was preparing for a ring career at Verne Gagne’s wrestling school. Patera introduced Fliehr to Gagne, who agreed to take him on as a member of what would be perhaps the single greatest training class in wrestling history (in addition to Ric Flair and Ken Patera, the group also included Greg Gagne, the Iron Sheik, Jim Brunzell, and Bob Bruggers).

Early career
Under the tutelage of Verne Gagne and Billy Robinson, Fliehr made fast progress; and in 1972, he made his debut, battling George Gadaski to a 10-minute draw while adopting the ring name “Ric Flair.” Then weighing nearly 300 pounds with short brown hair, Flair scarcely resembled his future “Nature Boy” image; but he drew attention with his charismatic personality and ring endurance. In 1975, Flair left the AWA for Jim Crockett's Mid-Atlantic region in the National Wrestling Alliance; and he soon captured his first title when, on February 8, 1975, he beat Paul Jones for the Mid-Atlantic TV Championship. However, on October 4, 1975, Flair’s career nearly ended when he was in a serious plane crash in Wilmington, North Carolina that took the life of the pilot and paralyzed Johnny Valentine (also on board were “Mr. Wrestling I” Tim Woods, Bob Bruggers, and promoter David Crockett). Flair broke his back in 3 places; and at age 26, he was told by doctors that he would never wrestle again. However, Flair conducted a rigorous physical therapy schedule; and he triumphantly returned to the ring just 6 months later, where he resumed his now-legendary feud with Wahoo McDaniel in early 1976. The crash did force Flair to change his wrestling technique away from the power brawling style he had used early on, which led him to adopt the "Nature Boy" style he would use throughout his career.

Groomed by Jim Crockett Jr. as his future top star, Ric Flair won the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship when he defeated Bobo Brazil on July 29, 1977; and during the next three years, he held five reigns as U.S. Champion while feuding with Rick Steamboat, Roddy Piper, Mr. Wrestling II, Jimmy Snuka, and Greg Valentine (with whom he also formed a championship tag team). However, Flair would reach elite status when he began referring to himself as “the Nature Boy,” which incited a notorious 1978 feud with the original “Nature Boy,” Buddy Rogers, who put Flair over in a now-famous encounter.


NWA World Heavyweight Championship (1981-1986)
Then on September 17, 1981, Flair reached the top of the mountain when he beat Dusty Rhodes for his first NWA World Heavyweight Championship. In the following years, Flair would eventually establish himself as the promotion’s main franchise in the midst of emerging competition from Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Federation. With his outlandish wit and entertaining interview style, Flair embodied the role of the World Champion- sporting bleached blonde hair, elegant jewelry, designer suits, and elaborate custom robes while dishing out his trademark chops and feared Figure Four Leglock. All the while, Flair taunted his opponents with his famous “Wooo!” shout while boasting, “To be the man, you’ve got to beat the man; and whether you like it or not, learn to love it, ‘cause it’s the best thing going today!”

Harley Race won the title from Flair in 1983, but Flair regained the title at StarrCade 1983 in Greensboro, North Carolina in a steel cage match; afterwards, Race and Flair would fight in many different matches in early 1984.

Flair would go on to win the NWA title, officially, seven more times. As the NWA champion, he defended his belt around the world. Flair lost the title to Race and won it back in the span of three days in New Zealand in March 1984. At the first David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions at Texas Stadium, Flair was pinned by Kerry Von Erich. Flair regained the title 18 days later in Japan.

He then reigned for two years, two months, and two days, losing his title to Dusty Rhodes on July 26 at The Great American Bash 1986; Dusty had been a notable foe in Flair's career, and both men began a famous feud with one another after Flair helped break Dusty's leg on September 29, 1985. Flair regained the title two weeks later. Flair would engage in many different matches throughout his title reigns, and face many opponents like Harley Race, Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, Kerry von Erich, Jay Youngblood, Sting, Jimmy Garvin, Magnum T.A., and Dusty Rhodes throughout his career as well.


The Four Horsemen
In the spring of 1985, the tag team of Ole Anderson & Arn Anderson began aiding Ric Flair (whom they claimed as a “cousin”) in attacks against Dusty Rhodes, Magnum T.A., and Sam Houston . A few weeks later, the Andersons interrupted Houston’s match against Tully Blanchard, and the three heels combined to rough up the youngster while sending a message to the rest of the NWA. Shortly thereafter, Flair, Blanchard, and the Andersons formalized their alliance, calling themselves the Four Horsemen, with Blanchard’s manager J.J. Dillon also coming on board. Upon the group’s inception, it was clear that the Horsemen were unlike any heel faction that had ever existed. The four rulebreakers immediately used their strength in numbers to decimate the NWA’s top fan favorites while controlling the majority of the championship titles; and over the years, there would be various incarnations of the group, including Lex Luger, Barry Windham, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, and even Sting.


World Championship Wrestling (1986-1991)
By 1986, wrestling promoter Jim Crockett had consolidated the various NWA member promotions he owned into a single entity, running under the banner of the National Wrestling Alliance. Controlling much of the traditional NWA territories in the southeast and midwestern United States, Crockett looked to expand nationally, and built his promotion around Flair as champion. During this time, Flair's bookings as champion were tightly controlled by Crockett, and a custom championship belt was created for Flair.

Flair lost the NWA World Championship due to his flamboyant ways in Detroit to Ron Garvin on September 25, 1987. Garvin would hold the title for two months before losing to Flair on November 26, 1987 at WCW's first pay-per-vew event, StarrCade in Chicago, Illinois.

In late 1988, booker Dusty Rhodes proposed that Flair lose the NWA World Heavyweight Championship to Rick Steiner in a short match at StarrCade '88 when no agreement could be met regarding the finish to the scheduled main event between him and Lex Luger. Feeling that Rhodes had always conspired to make him look weak as champion, Flair refused, and threatened to leave WCW if Rhodes was not removed as booker. Rhodes was fired for various issues within the company, and former JCP booker George Scott was given his role as booker.

Scott immediately negotiated to bring in Ricky Steamboat for a series of matches. On February 20, 1989 in Chicago, Steamboat pinned Flair to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. This prompted a series of rematches, where Steamboat was presented as a "family man" (often accompanied by his wife and young son), while Flair opposed him as an immoral, fast-living "ladies man." Following a best-of-three falls match with Steamboat that lasted just short of the sixty-minute time limit (and ended with a disputed finish where Steamboat retained the title) at Clash of the Champions VI: Ragin' Cajun on April 2, 1989, Flair regained the title from Steamboat on May 7 at WrestleWar '89. This match has been cited by many as one of the greatest wrestling matches in history and was voted 1989's "Match of the Year" by Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Flair was attacked by Terry Funk (serving as a judge for the match, as per its stipulations) after the match when Flair refused to grant Funk a title match, telling Funk that he had spent too much time in Hollywood and out of wrestling, and was not a listed title contender. The attack reached its conclusion when Funk gave Flair a piledriver through the judges' table.

Months later, a "recovered" Flair returned to competition in an emotional match against Funk at The Great American Bash. The two continued feuding through the summer and eventually Flair reformed the Four Horsemen, with the surprise addition of longtime rival Sting, to combat Funk's J-Tex Corporation. This led to an "I Quit" match at Clash of the Champions IX: New York Knockout. Before the match, Funk stated that he would shake Flair's hand if he lost, a promise he kept when he shouted "Yes, I Quit!" after being in Flair's figure-four leglock.

Flair then kicked Sting out of the Horsemen upon his challenge for the NWA Championship, resulting in a revived feud between the two which had to be delayed due to Sting injuring his knee, forcing WCW to slot Lex Luger as Flair's main challenger until Sting returned. On July 7, 1990, Flair dropped the title to Sting in what the wrestling world at the time believed was a changing of the guard. Flair was not finished winning NWA World Titles, however. After being unmasked as the Black Scorpion at StarrCade 1990.

Ric Flair regained the title from Sting on January 11, 1991 in front of a near empty house due to the blizzard conditions in the New York City area. Prior to this reign, WCW split their recognition of a world heavyweight champion from the NWA, and Flair was subsequently recognized as the first WCW World Heavyweight Champion, while still being recognized as NWA World Champion. On March 21, 1991, Tatsumi Fujinami defeated Flair in a controversial match in Tokyo. While the NWA recognized Fujinami as their new champion, WCW did not because Fujinami had backdropped Flair over the top rope in a violation of WCW rules. On May 19, 1991, Flair defeated Fujinami at SuperBrawl in St. Petersburg, Florida to reclaim the NWA title and retain the WCW title. In doing so, he became an eight time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, breaking Harley Race's record.

In the summer of 1991, Flair had a contract dispute with WCW president Jim Herd, who wanted him to take a substantial pay cut. Herd had removed Flair as head booker in February 1990, and wanted to reduce Flair's role in the promotion even further, despite the fact that Flair was still a top draw. According to Flair, Herd also proposed changes in his appearance (i.e. by shaving his hair, wearing a diamond earring and going by the name "Spartacus") as well as his in-ring name in order to "change with the times", a move that Kevin Sullivan equated with "changing Mickey Mantle's (uniform) number" as an example of unnecessarily altering a legend. Flair disagreed with the proposals, and two weeks before the 1991 Great American Bash, Herd fired him. Flair's popularity in WCW would be proven during his absence, as broadcasts were often punctuated by unignorable chants of "We Want Flair!" While Flair had left for the WWF he was still recognized as the WCW World Champion until July 1, 1991, when the title was officially vacated. Though, the NWA does not recognize this entire run as a whole as Flair had lost an NWA title bout against Tatsumi Fujinami on March 21, 1991 in Japan (in a non-WCW matchup). Flair then regained the NWA title from Fujinami on May 19, 1991 on SuperBrawl I (in a title fight according to NWA, but non-title fight according to WCW), but since Fujinami was never recognized by WCW to have beaten Flair before for the Championship title and thus he was never recognized as a WCW Champion, the title was then stripped from Flair on July 1, 1991.[4]


World Wrestling Federation (1991-1993)
Flair signed with the WWF in August 1991, and began appearing on television the next month. Initially, he appeared on WWF shows with the "Big Gold Belt", calling himself "The Real World Heavyweight Champion." WCW sued Flair in an attempt to reclaim the belt, but Flair claimed that he owned the belt in lieu of the $25,000 deposit paid by NWA champions upon winning the title, which had not been returned to him when he was fired from WCW. The matter was settled later that year, with Flair's deposit being returned to him along with interest.

Led by his "financial advisor" Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and his "executive consultant" Mr. Perfect, Flair repeatedly issued challenges to WWF notables like Rowdy Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan, wrestling a team led by Piper at Survivor Series 1991 and helping The Undertaker defeat Hogan for his WWF Title that same night.[5]

At the Royal Rumble 1992, he won the Rumble Match to claim the vacant WWF Championship. Flair drew number three in the Rumble match, and lasted a then-record 59 minutes, last eliminating Sid Justice with help from Hulk Hogan, who had been eliminated by Justice seconds earlier.[6] In so doing, Flair joined Buddy Rogers as the only men to win the WWF and NWA World Championships in their careers. He also became the fifteenth man to hold the WWF Championship.

After a planned program with Hogan was scrapped due to Hogan's hiatus following the WWF's steroid scandal, Randy Savage challenged Flair for the WWF title at 'WrestleMania VIII'. Flair taunted Savage (Kayfabe) by claiming that he had a prior relationship with Savage's wife, Elizabeth, and that he had the pictures to prove it (which were later revealed to be doctored photos). Savage defeated Flair for the title at WrestleMania.[6] In July 1992, as Savage prepared to defend the title against The Ultimate Warrior at SummerSlam,[6] Flair and Mr. Perfect sowed distrust between the two by suggesting that they would back one or the other during their match. They actually attacked both Savage and Warrior and injured Savage's knee sufficiently, an injury that Flair exploited to regain the title in a match on September 1. Due to an inner ear injury that affected his equilibrium, his second reign would be short-lived, as he lost the title to Bret Hart on October 12.

Flair teamed with Razor Ramon to take on Savage and Perfect at the Survivor Series 1992.[7]

Ric Flair appeared in the Royal Rumble 1993.[8] After losing a Loser Leaves Town Match to Mr. Perfect on an episode of Monday Night Raw,[9] Flair returned to WCW. On The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection DVD, Flair described his first stint with the WWF as "the greatest year and a half of my career, outside the time I spent with Arn and the Four Horsemen."


World Championship Wrestling (1993-2001)
Flair returned to WCW in February 1993, and hosted a short-lived talk show in WCW called A Flair For The Gold. Arn Anderson usually appeared at the bar on the show's set, and Flair's maid Fifi (portrayed by Wendy Barlow) cleaned or bore gifts. Flair briefly held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship for a tenth time before WCW finally left the NWA in September 1993. After WCW's withdrawal, however, the NWA dropped recognition of Flair's tenth reign, leaving him with nine official NWA World Heavyweight Title reigns.

WCW planned to have Sid Vicious win the WCW World title at StarrCade 1993, but Sid was fired after a violent real-life altercation with Arn Anderson in London. Flair was placed in the match, which was held in his adopted hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. The match was billed that if Flair lost, he would retire from wrestling. The match would end with Flair using a chop block and roll-up on the gigantic Vader to win the title. The match was a huge success and used to draw in Hulk Hogan, who in Flair's book admitted he cried while watching the match, into WCW.

In June 1994, Flair defeated Sting in a unification match, merging the WCW International World Heavyweight Championship with the WCW World Championship. Flair later feuded with Hulk Hogan upon Hogan's arrival in WCW in June 1994, losing the WCW World Championship to him in July. Flair lost a retirement match to Hogan at Halloween Havoc 1994. Flair took a few months off before returning as a wrestler and part-time manager in 1995. He and Randy Savage renewed hostilities when Savage arrived in WCW late in 1994, and their feud continued off-and-on for almost two years with each wrestler winning the WCW World Championship from each other at different times.

Flair defeated Savage in a steel cage at SuperBrawl VI to win the WCW World title, which saw Savage betrayed by Elizabeth in favor of Flair. Flair even defeated Konnan on July 7 at Bash at the Beach 1996 to win the United States Championship. He vacated it in November of that year due to an arm injury.

Flair would play a major role in the New World Order storyline in late 1996 and throughout 1997. He and the Horsemen often took the lead in the war against Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Hulk Hogan. Flair would feud with Roddy Piper, Syxx, and his old nemesis, Curt Hennig, in 1997 after Hennig was offered a spot in the Four Horsemen only to see Hennig turn on Flair and the Horsemen at Fall Brawl 1997, with Hennig punctuating the act by slamming the cage door onto Flair's head.

In April 1998, Flair became embroiled in a dispute with WCW president Eric Bischoff when he failed to appear at a televised event. Bischoff had placed Flair on the show only three days prior, and Flair had earlier requested time off on the same night to see his son Reid wrestle in a Greco-Roman wrestling tournament. He returned on September 14, 1998 to reform the Four Horsemen (along with Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Dean Malenko, and Chris Benoit) in Greenville, South Carolina. During his return speech, Flair would shoot on Bischoff, saying that Bischoff did not care about the fans and kept shouting the words "abuse of power" and "Fire me! I'm already fired!"

Flair feuded with Bischoff for several months afterward, eventually winning the "Presidency of WCW" from Bischoff. He used his power to make a WCW title match with Hulk Hogan at Uncensored 1999, which he won. Flair would win the WCW World Championship twice during 2000, WCW's last full year of operation.

When WCW was purchased by the WWF in March 2001, Flair was the leader of the heel group called the Magnificent Seven. Flair lost the final match in Nitro history to Sting on March 26, 2001.


World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (2001-2007)

2001-2004
After a hiatus from pro wrestling, Flair returned to the WWF in November 2001 as the on-camera co-owner of the company.[10] Flair reappeared on RAW following the end of the "WCW/ECW Invasion" that culminated in a "Winner Take All" match at Survivor Series 2001 won by the WWF.[11]

Flair's new on-screen role was that of the co-owner of the WWF, with the explanation that Shane and Stephanie McMahon had sold him their stock in the company to a consortium (namely Flair) prior to purchasing WCW and ECW.[12]


A bloody Flair at WrestleMania X8.Flair's feud with Vince McMahon led them to a match at the Royal Rumble 2002 in a Street Fight, where Flair defeated McMahon.[13] That match was Ric Flair's first match since his return to the WWF. Flair would also wrestle The Undertaker at 'WrestleMania X8' (2002) where Flair would lose a bloody brawl.[14] From then, the "co-owner" angle would culminate in early 2002, when the WWF was split into competing "brands," with Flair taking control of the RAW brand, while Vince controlled SmackDown![15] After Steve Austin abruptly left WWE while in a program with Flair, a match was hotshotted between Flair and Vince for sole ownership of WWE, which McMahon won, thanks to interference by Brock Lesnar.[16]

Flair would later turn heel (then face, then heel again) over the next two months, before joining Triple H's "Evolution" stable.[17] Flair won the World Tag Team Championship with Batista twice in 2003-04.[18][19]


2005-2007
At Unforgiven 2005, Flair defeated Carlito for Carlito’s Intercontinental Championship,[20] a belt Flair had never won. With the win, he became the thirteenth Triple Crown Champion in WWE history, as well as the first man to win the Intercontinental Title after a reign as WWE Champion since Chris Jericho (in 2004).

After Evolution dissolved, Flair began a feud with Triple H, with Flair defeating him at Taboo Tuesday 2005 to retain the Intercontinental Championship.[21] Triple H received a non-title rematch against Flair in a Last Man Standing match at Survivor Series, which Triple H won.[21]

On February 20, 2006, Flair lost the Intercontinental Championship to Shelton Benjamin.[22] Flair took some time off in mid-2006 to rest and marry for the third time and returned in June to work a program with Mick Foley that has played off their legitimate past animosity.[23] Flair defeated Foley at SummerSlam in a "I Quit" match.[24]

Subsequently, he was involved in a rivalry with the Spirit Squad on RAW. On November 5, 2006 at Cyber Sunday, he captured the World Tag Team Championship from the Squad with Roddy Piper.[25] On the November 13 edition of RAW, Flair and Piper lost the Tag Titles to Rated-RKO,[26] due to a disc problem with Piper and had to be flown immediately back to the USA as soon as RAW was off the air. On November 26, 2006 at Survivor Series, Flair was the sole survivor of a match that featured himself, Ron Simmons (replacing an injured Piper), Dusty Rhodes and Sgt. Slaughter versus the Spirit Squad.[25] He would become a victim of a conchairto by Rated-RKO and (kayfabe) was just sent to the hospital on the November 27, 2006 edition of RAW.[27] Flair then left television due to his divorce hearings. On the December 11, 2006 edition of RAW, Flair returned to team up with DX again. They defeated Rated-RKO and Kenny Dykstra.[28]


Flair became a mentor for Carlito in 2007.Ric Flair would then become a team with Carlito after Ric Flair said that Carlito had no heart.[29] Ric Flair defeated Carlito in a match after which Carlito realized that Flair was right.[30] Flair then became a mentor of Carlito. The two faced off in a Money In the Bank qualifying match which ended in a no contest after The Great Khali attacked both men.[31] Flair and Carlito got a second chance in a Money In the Bank Triple Threat qualifying match against Randy Orton, who won.[32] Flair and Carlito got yet another chance when they both competed in a battle royal for Edge's spot, and Flair appeared to have won the battle royal when Edge, who had faked a knee injury earlier in the match, ran into the ring and eliminated Flair.[33] Flair and Carlito faced off against Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch in a #1 contender's match for the World Tag Team Championship but were defeated. After weeks of conflict between Flair and Carlito, the team split up when Carlito attacked Flair during a match. At Judgment Day 2007, Ric Flair defeated Carlito with the Figure 4 leglock. His career was put at risk following a match with Randy Orton on June 4, 2007.

On the June 11 edition of RAW, Flair was drafted from RAW to SmackDown! as part of the 2007 WWE Draft. On June 15, Flair won his debut match on SmackDown! against Edge by disqualification. Flair would then start his first feud on SmackDown! against Montel Vontavious Porter, who would go on to defeat Flair at WWE Vengeance 2007. Upon being drafted, Flair would rejoin forces with fellow protégé Batista, usually teaming up with him in several tag team matches. After suffering the Khali Vice Grip, Flair has been absent from WWE TV.

Hardcore Holly

Robert William "Bob" Howard (born January 29, 1963) better known by his ring name Hardcore Holly, is an American professional wrestler. He is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment wrestling on its RAW brand.

While in WWF/E, Holly has held the WWF Hardcore Championship six times and the WWF World Tag Team Championship twice (with 1-2-3 Kid and Crash Holly).

Holly trained under Stan Frazier, Eddie Sullivan, Marcelle Pringle and Rip Tyler and debuted in 1987 in the Mobile/Pensacola area in the World Organization of Wrestling where he held titles on and off, including the WOW Tag Team Championship with Ron Starr.

From there, he wrestled in Memphis and then in the NWA with moderate success before briefly going to Smoky Mountain Wrestling in early 1992 where he wrestled as "Hollywood" Bob Howard before adopting the ring name "Superstar" Bob Holly.


World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment

1994-1998
Holly debuted in the World Wrestling Federation on January 11, 1994. His initial gimmick was that of a NASCAR driver turned wrestler called Thurman "Sparky" Plugg, which was later changed to Bob "Spark Plug" Holly.

At the 1995 Royal Rumble, Holly and the 1-2-3 Kid defeated Bam Bam Bigelow and Tatanka in the finals of a tournament to crown new WWF Tag Team Champions. Their title reign lasted only one day, however, as the next day, on WWF Monday Night RAW, Holly and the Kid lost the tag team titles to The Smokin' Gunns.

On the April 26, 1995 episode of WWF Action Zone, Holly defeated Jeff Jarrett in a match with the WWF Intercontinental Championship on the line. However, as Jarrett's foot was on the rope during the three count, the Intercontinental Championship was declared vacant and Holly's title reign was not recognized. Later in the show, Jarrett defeated Holly to win the vacant title.

In February, 1998, Holly and Bart Gunn joined forces with Jim Cornette as part of Jeff Jarrett's National Wrestling Alliance stable. Holly, renamed "Bombastic Bob", and Gunn, renamed "Bodacious Bart" were known collectively as The New Midnight Express. The New Midnight Express defeated The Headbangers for the NWA World Tag Team Championship on March 30, 1998 and held the titles until August 14 of that year, when they were defeated by The Border Patrol.


1999-2001

In 1999, Holly entered the race for the WWF's new Hardcore Title, billing himself as Hardcore Holly. As part of his new gimmick, he formed an alliance/rivalry with The Big Show, a real super heavyweight embarrassed by Holly's delusions of grandeur. He then teamed up with an on-screen cousin Crash Holly, with whom he won the WWF Tag Team Championships. In 2000, another on-screen "cousin" Molly Holly was introduced. Earlier that same year, Holly missed several months of ring time due to a legitimate broken arm, suffered at the hands of an errant moonsault from Kurt Angle.


2002-2005
In 2002, Holly turned heel on SmackDown! and began a short feud with then-face and newcomer, Randy Orton. When then-face Crash Holly was drafted from RAW to SmackDown!, he reunited with Hardcore Holly. As a result, Hardcore Holly turned face again.

Holly suffered a broken neck during a 2002 match against Brock Lesnar. Holly was wrestling a very stiff match against Lesnar and sandbagged an attempted powerbomb by Lesnar in mid-air so that Lesnar couldn't get him all the way up. This led to Lesnar powerbombing Holly neck-first onto the mat. He had a thirteen month hiatus from wrestling after surgery. Holly returned at the Survivor Series in November 2003 for revenge. He went on to challenge Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the 2004 Royal Rumble. To prove that he could take down Brock, Holly defeated the Big Show in a street fight on SmackDown!. At the Royal Rumble, Holly could not overpower Lesnar and was eventually defeated.

After this he would form short-lived tag teams with Billy Gunn, and later Charlie Haas in the hunt for the WWE Tag Team Championship gold, in which he was unsuccessful with both partners. He also failed to claim the WWE Championship from John "Bradshaw" Layfield in a Hardcore match.

At the November 21, 2004 SmackDown! house show in Syracuse, New York, Hardcore Holly was involved in a tag team match with René Dupreé when Holly broke kayfabe during the match and legitimately attacked Dupree, punching and kicking the other wrestler over a speeding ticket that Dupreé had picked up whilst in Holly's rental car. Dupreé gave Holly consent to "take it out on him" in the ring, but was still fined $10,000 and told by owner Vince McMahon that he was on his "last strike" with the company.

Holly next went into singles competition trying to acquire the United States Championship from Champion Orlando Jordan. After being defeated twice by Jordan, Holly finally managed to pick up a non-title win over Jordan via disqualification on WWE Velocity, which aired on August 6, 2005. In September 2005, Holly began another short-lived singles feud with the metrosexual Sylvan, addressing him by the sobriquets "Sylvy-an", "Sylvester" and "Sylvia". This feud ended with Holly winning a falls count anywhere match during an edition of SmackDown!. Holly then entered a short feud with "SmackDown!" newcomer, Mr. Kennedy. This feud climaxed on October 9, 2005 at No Mercy, where Mr. Kennedy defeated Holly after a Green Bay Plunge. After the match, Sylvan once again came out and attacked an injured Holly.


2006-2007
Holly then underwent several surgeries to repair nagging injuries. He was hospitalized after a staph infection developed in an arm wound. The infection was possibly career-threatening, as doctors were worried at one point that the arm may have to be amputated. The subsequent treatments were a success, however, and Holly made his in-ring WWE return at a RAW/SmackDown! supershow tapings on July 31, 2006 in a dark match, defeating Simon Dean.

Holly made a surprise appearance at WWE's Extreme Championship Wrestling house show event on August 21, 2006 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, defeating Balls Mahoney. Holly made his ECW television debut the next night, August 22, appearing in a promo with Paul Heyman, and later attacking Rob Van Dam and Danny Doring during a match. Holly, as a heel, soon joined with Heyman and his other associates to feud with RVD and others.

On September 26, 2006, Holly received 24 stitches from WWE Doctor Louis Rios in his back after suffering a severe laceration there during an Extreme Rules match against Rob Van Dam when he landed on the metal railing of a table he was suplexing Van Dam out of the ring and through during an ECW show in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Holly attained the injury early in the match but continued to wrestle for at least another 10 minutes with blood running down his back, despite his recent infections. After the match, as he was being helped out of the ring, he received a standing ovation from fans. The legitimate incident caused fans to cheer Holly in the following weeks, leading to a face turn and a feud with Paul Heyman's other enforcer Test. His latest run as a face was short lived as he eventually turned on Rob Van Dam when they were partners in a tag match.

When Sabu was found unconscious in the back before the Extreme Elimination Chamber at December to Dismember, he was chosen as his replacement. Holly entered with Rob Van Dam as the first of two combatants. He was the second to be eliminated, he was eliminated by Test by a Running big boot.

Subsequently, he entered into a feud with CM Punk where by Holly, now a tweener, showed his endurance by surviving Punk's Anaconda Vice. Holly then gave Punk his first loss in ECW, Punk had been undefeated for half a year. After Test replaced Holly in a match against ECW champion Bobby Lashley, Holly vowed he would become champion whether he faced Test or Lashley. Holly then was one of ECW superstars entered in the Royal Rumble 2007, but was eliminated by The Great Khali. Holly soon became the #1 contender for Lashley's ECW Championship and faced off against Lashley unsuccessfully.

On April 3, 2007, Holly faced Snitsky and lost. After the match, Snitsky wedged Holly's arm between the steel steps and repeatedly hit the steps with a steel chair, resulting in a kayfabe broken arm. Hardcore Holly had surgery on April 16 to release a nerve entrapment in his elbow and missed around 5 months.

Holly was drafted back to SmackDown! from ECW on June 17, 2007 as part of the 2007 WWE Supplemental Draft. Despite this, he returned to the ring on RAW on September 24, 2007, defeating Cody Rhodes, starting a "respect" feud in which Holly continually defeated Rhodes on the following episode of RAW and a Dark match at No Mercy. At October 22, in the edition of RAW, Holly turned face saving Cody Rhodes from the assault of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.
