You know, I am actually wondering if maybe....JUUUUUUUUUST maybe, WWE crowds are actually loud and for some reason WWE TV doesn't convey it.
I was live at the RAW when Jericho came back. During about 3 or 4 of the commercial breaks, there were quite a handful of Y2J chants. And when he finally returned, the crowd went crazy. I swear the only time they were quiet was when Jericho talked. I actually lost my voice from trying to yell EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER as loud as I can about 3 times.

How about the idea that the whole "Save_Us.222" was pretty much figured out/"solved" by some (if not) most of the IWC the day after the promo debuted?

He was pretty over in Philly(I think it was)
Should have had him debuet somewhere up north, then he'd be more over. Plus I'm sure most people didn't know he was coming back, like I said, the Save_Us videos should have been part of the show more, build it up.

Well, re-debuting Jericho in North Carolina, the same night of Ric Flair's non-retirement speech was a bad idea to begin with.
The fact it's still the same Jericho, with a new haircut, he was 2+ years ago doesn't help.
Adding that the last memory of Jericho was him being carried away kicking and screaming, and that the feud with Cena was the first semi-important program he had been part since God knows when, are quite good reasons for the "lack of reaction" he's getting...
Before being jobbed to Cena, Jericho had been floundering in the midcard, working with the likes of Benjamin...
How are the casual fans supposed to go crazy for a guy who, as good as he may be, has been a glorified JTTS since, say, 2002?

If you're enjoying the guy, what difference does it make if the crowd is all into em anyway? 1) It ruins the segment for me as its so quiet 2) I'm just thinking in the back of my mind, for god sake cheer or he's going to be put on ECW.

in fairness, prior to his feud with Cena in 2005 he really hadn't done anything significant in years. He was just kind of hanging around in the midcard until Raw drafted Cena, then it was his job to make Cena look good.
I'm as big a Jericho mark as there is, but the way they pushed him during his last few years leaves him perceived as nothing more than a midcarder to some people. I've always seen him as a guy that had the potential to be either the top face or top heel in an instant, so its puzzled me how he never became "the next big thing"

I guess this is the fans that WWE has gotten after pushing Cena and Batista for the last few years.

Maybe it's both, I know some of his fans may not want to believe it, but maybe his return wasn't that special after all.

Maybe it's both, I know some of his fans may not want to believe it, but maybe his return wasn't that special after all. IMO the problem isn't that his return wasn't special, but that it was more or less the same routine of his actual debut. And back then he interrupted The Rock (who I dislike, but hell, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand). This time he interrupted Randy Orton... who just stood there looking puzzled/dizzy/half asleep. Jericho's return was fairly good, for his part. The counterparts are a bit dull this time, so he's not looking that great either. And, as said already, Jericho stopped being "relevant" 5 years ago, so his old routine may have gotten a bit stale as well.

Y2J isnt the Rock or Steve Austin internet fans love him casual fans want marketable guys yes he can speak but hes deflated and will just be an uppermidcarder at best in the eyes of the fans As well as Smarks in general, sad but true. Another problem is that WWE really, with their save us ad campaign, are admitting that the program use to be good but now it sucks so badly that they need to basically start over. They are retreating into their past, rather than building young new stars besides Super Cena, in a vain attempt to reclaim their lost glories. It wasn’t Shawn or Undertaker who sparked the attitude era; it was several new guys that caught fire. After all guys like Austin, Rock and Mick didn’t just materialize over night, WWE needs to remember this.

The fans in general over the past few years have seemed to be lacking vocal chords. Expect when they go abroard.
American fans make some noise!

It's like he never left, which is a bad thing. His first night match seemed specail and awesome, but hell even his first match back agaist Santino it felt like he's been back for a year, and it was only a week, and it was his first match in two years.

Let me get this straight, DX, Austin V. McMahon, 99% of other ways WWE decides to party like it's 1999: Bad, lame rehash, why are they trying to recapture past glories, etc.
Chris Jericho deciding to party like it's 1999: Best thing ever, so awesome, should've gotten Hogan level pops, it's the fans' fault for not getting it, put every title on Jericho right now.
That sum up the basic argument here?
Seriously, maybe, just MAYBE, the casual fan is as sick of WWE trying to resurrect the late 90s however it can just as much as the "IWC"? And Jericho is a symptom of this?

I think the crowds have been crap for a while now. You've got to put the Jericho reactions in perspective. They do chant Y2J every time the guys in sight. The only other wrestlers who get a chant are Cena (who's gone), HHH (sometimes), HBK, and the Hardy's. They don't chant anyone else's name. They don't even chant for CM Punk anymore. Considering the size of the roster and the death of the audience, I think Y2J's doing fine. He definitely isn't bombing.
