Maybe it's because Carolina crowds have grown to distrust any wrestling organization since JCP that claims it respects Ric Flair. It's not as true in WWE, but WCW had a bad habit of using Flair to draw crowds there, then burying him in his match. Assuming you have fans that still remember that Flair is a local hero and legend, they may not be marking because they don't want to get their hopes up just to have them dashed again.
As for Jericho, I thought it was kind of lame that they basically introduced him the same way, again. In my humble opinion, it would have been better to have him do a run-in during a match or actually have him save someone from something. At least he got to talk this time instead of having the Rock instantly bury him in his first five minutes with the Federation, but when I saw it all I could think of was that it was the exact same thing I'd seen before. Also, the vest and the hair were killing me. I'm alright with it so long as he doesn't have to take care of anyone's pets or play lackey to any McMahon family members.

WWE nearly always jobbed him out in his hometown against guys like Edge and Trips. And I don't think that could be an excuse because they marked like crazy each time. And I don't think Rock buried him, as that was how the Rock was. Would you have him cower in the corner or something?

No, I wouldn't have Rock cower, but it might have made Jericho look stronger if they'd let him banter back. Once Rock let us know that it didn't matter what Jericho's name was, it felt like the rest of the confrontation was all in Rock's favor. Clearly Jericho got past that, but at the time it bugged me because I'd been looking forward to Jericho's appearance.

Typical IWC.
OMG, Jericho is f***ed already!?!
No way, it is still his first month, it will take a while for the crowds to adjust and that will happen once Y2J has more matches and better programs.
And the fact there is nothing more lackluster than current WWE crowds.

NOBODY IS "SUPPOSED" TO POP FOR OR LIKE ANYTHING THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO POP FOR OR LIKE. IF JERICHO BOMBS, THEN HE JUST BOMBS. IT DOES NOT MAKE THE CROWD STUPID.
I don't know how much I can stress that point.

I think it was a combination of the dragged-out segments, the apathetic crowd, the crappy title situation and...his hair.
I say if he had the long hair, he'd have gotten a better response.
Now that Chris gets the match at the PPV not 1 month after his appearance shows a lot about how the WWE has dropped in quality.

I read somewhere that apparently people within the WWE have been disappointed at his comeback and are gonna swiftly end his title hunt storyline and put him in an angle with JBL. Not sure how much truth there is to this though.

I was screaming louder then the fans on RAW this past Monday. Granted it was not the best Kennedy Promo, but it was good.
"Hey y-"
"Yeah yeah, thats all you got!"
Funny stuff, and I was laughing so hard milk that I had earlier that day came out my nose.

A Jericho/JBL feud would be entertaining. I can't imagine it actually happening, but I'd dig seein it.

sources: www.pwtorch.com, PWInsider.com -- Chris Jericho's feud with Randy Orton looks to be a short one as it should be over soon. He may move on to a "war of words" feud with JBL, cultimating in a match at WrestleMania. Some people within WWE are already disappointed with Jericho's mic work, in-ring work and mild crowd reaction. Jericho was never expected to get a long period of grace, but the tide has turned against him fairly quickly. yeah so i'd say the rumors about him vs JBL are correct... man i hope after the crowds get used to him they put him back into the title hunt...

Huh. Should be entertaining. It's just as well, they shouldn't have thrown him in the title hunt this soon anyway. Let people get used to him being back etc. first.
