Gil Meche retires due to shoulder problems, saving the Royals $12M this year Leave the memories alone. And Gorzy is pretty decent as a number 4 or 5 starter. Which means he'll end up a 2 or 3 in Washington and not match up well and end up sucking. |

So long Tom, it was fun while it lasted. Here's hoping the prospects end up better than whatever we stole him from the Pirates for. Kevin Hart and Jose Ascanio, who both missed 2010 with shoulder injuries. Maybe another throw-in. The three prospects were a 2007 S1 pick (49th overall), a 2008 4th rounder, and a 2009 4th rounder. I like that the Cubs were able to get something in return that actually makes sense: a lefty, a righty, and a potential power hitter who likely takes over RF in Tennessee/AA this year. Ah, that's right. I had thought it was Hart and someone else, but couldn't remember for sure. |
