TNA: Impact December 06, 2007
- TNA is completely retarded!!!!
- This weeks show was so f--k'ing bad I'm tapping out AGAIN. I may give them another chance in the New Year (maybe not), but I don't need this aggrevation over the holidays. NOTHING makes a lick of sense on this show.
- Before I go any further, because this is going to get stiff, let me clarify that TNA has likely the best talent roster going. There are more guys I'd rather see working, in TNA than on RAW, SD, or ECW, quite possibly even combined. That being said I can't stomach this show any longer, the booking is so beyond comprehendable I give up.
- So much of this show was centered around Cornette wanting these cases secured, so no one could tamper with them. Problem is those of us with at least half a brain (this obviosuly excludes whoever wrote this shit) realizes that since the guys showed up in their cars with the cases, to open the show, they've already had the cases for "4-days", I'm pretty sure any tampering they wanted to do would be done by now!
- To make matters worse (a TNA booking theme) to secure the cases they are put on DISPLAY in a room that the entire locker room wonders through during the show.
- People actually paid (grantly probably not that many) to watch Turning Point to find out who would get title shots and who would get fired. This didn't happen on PPV instead TNA screwed the fans and told them it will be done on Impact for free. Now on Impact we are told, sorry folks you have to wait till next week. This is such poor bait and switch business it's unbelieveable.
- They did the exact same thing with the Fight for the Right match. They promised to award a Title shot to someone on the PPV, but at the PPV we were told that it was just going to decide seeding for a tournament that would happen on free TV. Then they have the tournament on free TV only to find out that we still don't get to know the guy who gets the Title shot because they are doing a rematch on PPV. So to get what fans were promised on 1 PPV they had to buy 2 PPVs, and watch 6-8 hours of Impact. That's bullshit!
- We then have an unadvertised 6 man ladder match for the "possession" of the X Title belt. Johnny Devine now has "legal" possession of the belt, but isn't the champ, while Jay Lethal is the X Champion but doesn't have the belt. If that makes sense to anyone I suggest you seek psychiatric help immediately.
- Did they pin Gail Kim tonight because they were pissed fans cared more about her match at the PPV than they did the Main Event? The Women's Title has been the only thing they have been doing right lately (likely the reason why fans cared at the PPV) so they have a girl who isn't even in the angle pin Gail in the middle of the ring. Absolutely retarded.
- There are a ton of other things wrong with the show, but why bother. I think I just put more thought into writing this than TNA does into booking the show. I'm done. To the talented guys and girls who work in TNA, I wish you the best, but I can't watch this show anymore it's just not worth it!!!!
So what do you all think about this, I can't comment yet as I won't see it till Saturday, so I'll reserve my judgment!

- It wasn't a booking oversight that the cases were set up in public like that. That would be Matt Morgan completely ignoring Cornette's orders, as he did all night.
- No one bought the PPV to watch the feast or fired match.
- Gail was pinned by ODB because Gail was hurt from Sunday (and sold it the entire time), AND ODB cheated. What in the world is wrong with that? Ric Flair pinned the world champ after a low blow and a rollup when Jericho had distracted Orton, same concept.
- I dont particularly get the ladder match either. Lethal wanted to take his belt back 'the right way' as he said it, instead of just having it handed back. This is another match that gets 3D and Devine more heat without hurting Lethal and the Guns. That doesnt make it a good decision though.

See the problem is that TNA seemed to want to sweep it under the rug, but when you're deciding who's getting the title shots in one match, it just doesn't work. I dunno, The MAPLE LEAF MUSCLE Petey Williams might be able to make it all worthwhile in the end! Well knowing how well Petey fairs being one man vs. a faction... Yeah, these are pretty much all stupid things to take issue with. I dunno, them pussyfooting over the cases thing is pretty ridiculous. I'm actually surprised he didn't take the BTR route (and everyone elses) and jump on the "stop re-enacting Bash At the Beach please" bandwagon |

The Feast or Fired thing ticked me off, too.
I mean, I'm watching the PPV hyped about that match. Why? Because it all comes down to the last case. After the first three are opened, everyone knows what is left.
The World Title shot could be there, causing mass carnage as everyone left just goes crazy to get it.
The Tag Title could be left, causing a combo frenzy as the tag teams looked to pick up a shot.
The X-Division shot could be left, leading to some of the big men trying to "Bully" the X-Division guys by not letting them get the briefcase.
And the best possiblity (in my mind)...The Fired Case is left. The match must continue, but someone has to get fired, and NO ONE want to get the case. Finally, someone takes it down but throws it AT someone else causing a big game of Hot Potato until someone is knocked out of the ring and loses their job.
Which of those happened?
Oh...right...NONE. Instead, TNA baits and switches because they were afraid of ECW and wanted to hype the cases being opened on Impact (Which they didn't even do?). I lost all interest in the rest of the PPV when they did that. It was pathetic and it just killed all the care I had for the PPV. Apparently, I missed a great woman's match and a shoot promo.
Looks like I'll miss the next PPV, too.

I just disagreed with your comments of it being a bait and switch when they werent opened right as they were taken down, letting people/wrestlers know what was in the final box. And last nights was a result of Matt Morgan making decisions on his own without Cornettes authority and letting people take their boxes home, as opposed to keeping them in one place, locked away from the opening. That was the storyline reason, anyway. Real reason was likely to due with the Senshi situation and them having to re-plan everything, so they just delayed it a night or something, I dont know. |

Oh Lance, you nerd, just turn the TV off. Agreed. I almost always agree with Lance, and I'm sure he's right on all of his points, but if it's so damn annoying just don't watch. Take a break. Like me. ;D I believe this is break #8 from TNA for me. I may tune in again about a month before BFG, since that seems to be the only time of year the program is even remotely watchable. |

of course they would have had four days to tamper with them. that is probably the reason cornette was mad that they had the cases and sent morgan to round them up. with how morgan has been taking charge and doing things cornette doesn't want him to do, possibly morgan told them they could take the cases. had cornette been scared about them being tampered with but left them out in the open or with the wrestlers that wouldn't make sense. however, it works in my eyes because the person who is paranoid isn't the one leaving them in easily accessible places.tna never said the cases would be opened at the pay per view and i didn't think they would be. them saving the announcement of title shots for impact makes sense to me. as far as the impact bait and switch, let's remember one guy involved in the storyline announced he was leaving the day of taping. they had a few hours to rearrange their storyline and i am not going to blame them for improvising with the storyline and not announcing all briefcases at that taping. they were trying to salvage the storyline hours before taping so i don't really hold it against them.
i guess i just don't feel this way. when i found out there was to be a tournament, i wasn't bummed out i didn't get to see the result at the first pay per view. i was happy that i got to see a good tournament with some good match ups thrown in it. then i was happy they held it out to a pay per view because i believe that the christian/kaz ladder match was really good and a great pay per view match. a lot of good came from it so i guess i forgot to be bummed out i didn't find out the number one contender sooner. i don't think about having to watch two pay per views and 6-8 hours of impact to see the outcome, because i actually watch it because i like it, not to have something new to complain about. i would have been watching anyway because i like the show so it's not that big of a deal to me.
please send me help because it makes sense to me. here let me try to explain it.
devine has lethal's x division title.
lethal wants to win possession of the title in a match instead of just getting it back.
at the end of the match devine cheats to win.
devine takes belt again.
you see guys, when someone steals a belt that doesn't make them champion. if that were true then wrestling would make no sense. so keeping that in mind it isn't really hard to understand. the ladder match wasn't a title match, it was just lethal trying to get back something that was stolen from him. he didn't get it back so the bullies held on to it, as was agreed when match was set.
lance you forgot to mention that the announcers were playing up the fact that gail was still messed up from her fight with kong. also may have made more sense if you mention it was a dirty finish. why is it that anyone in tna who receives a bit of a push can never get pinned lest wrestling fans everywhere moan and complain about how they are being jobbed out or are in trouble? in my mind they just wanted to build up o.d.b. (who's name the fans were chanting extremely loudly at the pay per view when women were running out to attack kong). they realize that she is the third most over female wrestler so they let her get a cheap win over gail so that gail would be knocked out in the ring when kong came to beat her up.

Actually, I agreed with A LOT of the rant and thats probably the reason why I don't watch TNA on a regular basis. I'm not coming in here saying TNA is teh suxzors, but their booking of shows is completely terrible. The Feast or Fired concept is really giving me a headache now. |

I'm curious to see how TNA fared going head-to-head with ECW. Regardless of how stupid I think their shows currently are (VERY stupid), I hope they maintained their audience.
