Do you know what a snuff movie is? It's the actual killing of a person while it is filmed without any FX etc.. Audition was the legal equivalent of such activities. Well, I was just making sure. I'm not trying to get on you for not liking the movie. It's not for everyone, and that's what this thread is about. Just the way you described it... wanted to make sure you knew what you were talking about. Do you know what a snuff movie is? I do ... I do. Never seen one, but I know what one is. I would never watch one. And if I knew someone who tried to give me one or if I knew someone who made one, I'd call the police on them.

It's a Wonderful Life.
Bores the living hell out of me and I don't understand why it's held in such regard as a classic... usually I'm great about seeing the good in movies... even when they don't connect with me but this one bores me big time.

This is coming from someone who's a sucker for olden movies and Xmas movies in general. Doesn't click with me and I hate it for that purpose. *yawn*

Harry Potter. Lord of the Rings. Just didn't like 'em. Agreed. Creeps me out to see 26 year old Harry Potter fans. I'm not sure why 26 year old Harry Potter fans should be creepy... In any case, my answer is most sports movies bore the bejeezus out of me.

2001: A Space Odyssey - Other than HAL this movie is boring and pointless but, I've never done the drugs they did in the 60's either.

Any "action" movie. Most dramas. Mob movies, any serious cop movie, fantasy movies (including, but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter), Pirates of the Carribean, movies about people who have dance-offs...any movie whose fans dress up as characters from said movie.
...I don't care for most things.

And damn, some of my favorite movies were mentioned in this(Pulp Fiction, Godfather Trilogy, Kevin Smith Films, 2001, Superbad, Knocked Up). Didn't realize how much all our tastes differed. For mine, Napoleon Dynamite.

Dr Strangelove - I like the work of Kubrick and Peter Sellers. But I don't think this film is the comedy classic it is made out to be. The laughs are too far apart and the most of the film is shots of B52s flying.
The Evil Dead - Love the second movie. Just could not get into the first one. It's been 10 years since I last saw it maybe I need to give it another go.

Superbad.
I was really siked to see it, but aside from having one or two funny moments, it was just...blah. Even Talladega Nights was funnier.

Maybe because I know a lot of NASCAR fan kinda people, but Talledega Nights was pretty funny to me. I'm not going to say it did anything that hasn't been done before, but sometimes that's okay. Dug Superbad, but out of that and Knocked Up, it was the weaker film, so I can understand the differing opinions on it.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
I' m sorry, I just don' t see what' s the big deal about that one. First of all, the title is very misleading considering only one character is killed with the chainsaw in the entire movie. Even for the time, there really wasn' t anything original. There was no scenario and it just... wasn' t even creepy nor scary. Seriously, the only two things that I found creepy were the grandpa moving his mouth during the dinner, revealing that h is actually alive, and Leatherface himself. But in my opinion, this movie proved that a good monster doesn' t always make a good horror movie. Also, there was no atmosphere in this movie. At all. Seriously. Two characters quickly get killed with a hammer, then the guy in a wheelchair is killed with the chainsaw, then the girl is kidnapped and somehow escapes.
Very very very linear and empty movie, in my opinion.
Oh and don' t give me the usual "you can' t understand because back then it was scary and the special effects were good for the time." First of all, I did NOT watch it for special effects. I watched it because I expected a scary atmosphere and a twisted plot and I got none of these. Also, I' ve seen movies from my time, from TCM' s time and older and no matter what time you live in, you can create a good atmosphere without expensive special effects so it is no excuse at all.
And the special effects weren' t that great for the time.
Hitchcock' s The Birds.
You know, I haven' t seen a lot of movies by Hitchcock but if that' s one of his most popular movies, I am afraid of what his other movies must be like. And not afraid as in "it creeped me out, his movies must be scary," but as in "That was boring, the other ones may make me fall asleep." I mean, there were some good ideas and there WAS a pretty good atmosphere... but it just wasn' t going anywhere. Nothing really happened. It' s like... suff was happening on screen but I just didn' t feel involved. And WHAT KIND OF ENDING IS THAT ?? I hate it when movies end up in the air like that ! Seriously, to every directors in the World, THIS IS NOT ORIGINAL AND IT IS NOT INTERESTING !!
Probably more to come.

Ahem... Any Star - movie. I'm not in that kind of sci-fi. Harry Potter. Comparing the Rowling's saga to Tolkien is like comparing crap with Nutella. Overhyped blockbuster, dime-a-dozen children books/movies. Lord of the Rings, the Two Towers. Too much to bear. Long battles in CGI tend to get boring, despite being breathtaking in the book. Superhero movies. I loathe SH comics, I can't find a good reason to like a 90 minutes adaptation on the silver screen. Action movies. A couple of men save the world with their bare hands, or with ONE piece of equipment. Tons of explosions and cheap combat... Meh Forrest Gump: an idiot lucks out at life, despite not understanding a thing of what happens to him. What's the message exactly?Preachy, PC cartoons. Kids don't care about political correctness, hell, they don't even know what it is. So stop throwing them messages they don't get. Give 'em the good old Black v White struggle. Anything with Hugh Grant. 100 movies, 1 role: the lovable nerd/goofball who'll end up with a hot chick for no good reason. OMG that's exactly what I was telling someone. It's an okay movie, but not worth all of the hoopla.
