Hello everyone and it is now time for the grand final of this tournament. 256 Heroes and Villains entered, but now we are down to just two contenders. I can tell you that we won't be seeing this ...
Which is a pity ...lol
What we will see is two heroes who are probably the most popular today from DC and Marvel ... Of our contestants one has been here before and won ... the other despite his popularity has never reached the final before ...
So without further ado .... let's go over the rules (Simplified for the final)
Rules
Right then ...
Introducing the first finalist ...
--------------------------------
He is the constantly troubled but eternally popular teenage superhero. To some he is a wall-crawling arachnid others think he is a accursed bug or menace ... most consider him there friendly neighborhood ...
Spiderman!
When first we meet the hero, he is introduced as a science whiz kid teenager from New York City called Peter Parker. clever but unpopular with his class mates.
During a school trip he gets bitten by a radioactive spider during a science demonstration. From this he gains spider-like powers including the ability to crawl on walls, super strength, super agility and a spider-sense. He also developed web-shooters which allowed him to tie up villains and let him swing about New York with ease originally he had to make the webbing himself from sythetic substances, but later gained organic webbing as a part of his super-powers (Recently he has reverted back to his synthetic web shooters) When he refuses to stop a thief, weeks later the same criminal kills his Uncle Ben. Learning that with great power comes great responsibility, Spider-Man becomes a vigilante/superhero.
Peter gets a job as a photographer at the Daily Bugle selling photos to J. Jonah Jameson, who vilifies Spider-Man in the paper. Thoughout his career he has had countless problems to deal with which usually involve him being spiderman clashing with his normal life and his never ending romance with love interest Mary Jane-Watson. The most notable of these stories have been The Sinister Six, The Death of Gwen stacy, Maximum Carnage, The Clone Saga, Identity Crisis, The Other and most recently One More Day. Over the years Spidey has amassed a large gallery of villains from the psychopathic Carnage to the technologically enhanced burglar Shocker, his arch foe is debateable but usally comes down to the Green Goblin or Doctor Octopus.
Arguably Marvel's most popular character Spider-Man is a household name and has appeared in three movies, several cartoons and various other cultural references.
versus
The man who is known to some as the Caped Crusader, to others the Dark Knight, a few as a winged rodent he is of course Gotham City's very own ....
Batman!
Our first introduction to hiim is as Bruce Wayne, a wealthy industrialist, playboy, and philanthropist. Who witnessed the murder of his parents as a child. This shocking and tragic event leads Bruce Wayne to train himself to a physical and intellectual perfection and don a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime.
Batman operates in Gotham City a bleak gothic city riddled with crime. He is assisted by various supporting characters including his sidekick Robin and his butler Alfred Pennyworth. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any superpowers; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime. Fear iis his ally and he frequently uses that as a psychological advantage over his foes. He is also known as a great detective and many of his problems revovle around crimes needing to be solved first.
This technology has taken many wide and varied forms over the years but notable consistent equipment are the Utility Belt, Batarangs and the Batmobile. Batman is also one of the few superheroes with a wide and deep pool of villains for him to face. From the duality obsessed Two-Face to the monstrous Killer-Croc, but most notable is his main foe the insane Joker, an opposite to his controlled methodical stylings.
Over the years Batman has appeared in several cartoons, five films with four different actors and other assorted media. Throughout this Batman is DC comic's most deep and varied superhero who's stories range from the simple apprehengin of thieves to very dark tales of murder, betrayal or insanity.
