Spoilers I suppose...
With most movies the general order of things dictates that the good guys always win, but sometimes just like in real life good does not triumph over evil or the good guys "win" but at such a high cost it doesn't really feel like a win at all.
Glory comes to mind, based on a real life American Civil War battle the 54th regiment of the Union Army puts up a good fight, but the Rebel army wins the day in a bit of a downer.
Saving Private Ryan is like this as well, Private Ryan is saved in the end, but pretty much everyone else dies, not much of a win there.
Anything else come to mind?

I would say Memento, because technically, no one won. Except Natalie.

Any horror movie where it shows the main hero(es) basically smurfed. That encompasses a lot, LOL! I'd say a GREAT example of this would be Carpenter's THE THING.
