All Nolan would have to do is give us the TAS version of Freeze. You mean the same one Shuemacher gave us, minus the puns. That's all he was in TAS, just some guy who was sad because of his frozen wife. Boo-f***ing-hoo. I didn't even like the TAS version since he looked like a gumball machine. And I think I am thinking of this outside of the box. I'm not listing any sort of comic stories, since I've either not read them, but they've already been done. The idea of hero falling in love with a villian has been SO overdone so many times, it's a wonder they even continue. I would never pick up a comic book with Batman liplocking with Catwoman, simply because idealistically it's really really stupid. What we need is someone who doesn't have to be on the same level as the Joker, but allow for Batman to become increasingly frustrated with what he needs to contend with. After Dark Knight, Batman's own sense of importance is going to be weak. We need a villian who can exploit that in order to get some sort of advantage over him. Bane could definately work on the physical level.

Black Mask. I'm the only one championing it, but by gum I'll champion it.

EVERYTHING else was different. I'm sorry that YOU don't like the TAS version, but Freeze is considered one of the best villains on that cartoon and Heart of Ice is considered a classic episode. Also, if you are going to be so smartass about Freeze's wife, why even watch Batman. Afterall he's based on his parents dying. Boo-freaking-Hoo.

I almost think Freeze is too 'powered' for Nolan's version though.

I almost think Freeze is too 'powered' for Nolan's version though. Like I said, you guys are thinking to in the box though. Also, Talking about what I would like to see and what I will see is to different things. I know Nolan wants to keep it "real", but I wouldn't mind seeing a little bit more fantasy work it's way in.

I don't know, that's why I don't write movies for a living. I'm just saying that just because we can't think of a way to make it work ourselves, doesn't mean it can't.

So I'm supposed to compare a guy who has an ice fetish to a guy who became what he fears? Big difference. But I guess it's wrong to pick and choose, I guess it's all or nothing, especially when it comes to guys with a fish bowl on their heads. And forgive me for offending one of your favorite villians, but I will say that if he was real, I could probably whoop his cold blooded ass with a hair dryer. Just saying, he doesn't seem too much like a threat.

I don't know man, I'm just tired and grumpy. lol All the "This and that won't be able to work!" talk was getting to me. The storyline was the only thing simular between TAS Freeze and B&R Freeze. Just saying, he doesn't seem too much like a threat. Yeah and I would just shoot Joker in the head. It's never that easy. Also, you really are ignoring the depth the cold represents with Freeze. Batman became what he fears because his parents died. Freeze became cold and emotionless because the one he loves is gone. Not that different. The cold is more then a gimmick with the TAS-inspired version of Freeze. It is who he is, what he has become. He's the oppositte of Batman. He let a tragedy drive him into not caring about anyone or anything. He become a cold, calculating man bent on others sharing his misery.

There was hint of maybe Catwoman maybe a upcoming villain (When Wayne asks Fox if the armor could protect against dogs Fox replied it could even stop big Cats or something. Maybe just some trivia).
But after that crapty Halle Berry Catwomen movie I don't think they will use that character anytime in the near future.

Hell, being "born of tragedy" is a recurring theme for the Batman mythos. Aside from Bats and Freeze, there's also Robin (Grayson and Drake are both orphans, if I'm not mistaken), you could argue that Barbara Gordon became a better character after The Killing Joke, and there's a certain district attorney with a special coin.

I really, REALLY don't want any fantasy in Nolan's Batman flicks. Again, their brutal grittiness is what really distinguishes them from most other comic book movies, and losing that would be a huge blow. Dark Knight truly succeeds as a crime drama and character study (mainly of the relationship between Batman and Joker, along with Dent's fall), and bringing in fantasy, beyond very, very subtle hints of it ("Are Rah's Al-Gul's ways...supernatural?"), would hurt that. It's why Joker wasn't taking people out with high powered extend-o-arms with boxing gloves on them. Instead, he used knives, guns, and even a bazooka, and was all the more terrifying for it. Like I said, I think the only time I'd want a hint of supernatural stuff would be anything involving Rah's. But even then, it can NOT go too far.

Yeah and I would just shoot Joker in the head. It's never that easy. I'm not saying it's not entirely possible to make Freeze work, but there would be liberties taken. You either have to sacrifice Nolan's take on the series and make it "supernatural" or you completely change the concept of Freeze and piss off all the comic purists. As I said before, I don't read the comics, but I have an understanding on all the characters since I grew up with the series and have a few friends who read the comics and discuss them. Now while some might not care, I would be a little upset if they decided to do some unrealistic things with Batman. We've got so many over the top comic book series about mutants and so forth that Batman to me was a breath of fresh air because it attained something that almost none of the others had. And for them to go and sacrifice that mentality to stretch out the franchise would turn me off faster than what George Lucas did to Star Wars.

I'm not saying Nolan wouldn't do a good job with Freeze, but I just can't see it because, well I'm not Nolan, I'm not that smart.
And yes. Freeze was a gimmick until TAS, they gave character to his gimmick, a cold, emotionless revenge machine.
Also, Black Mask in Nolan's Batman would be fan-freaking-tastic!

Well, I see what you guys are saying.
I'm just saying I've read Batman comics my whole life, watched the cartoons, bought the underwear. Everyone knows how much I love Deadpool, but what people don't know is that Batman is my second favorite character and was #1 before 'Pool took that spot.
As a lifelong fan, I do like the real grittiness, but I do realize where Batman comes from also and I don't think it's completely right to always ignore that.

Well I guess we can count on the rebuilt Stately Wayne Manor being completed with a new and improved Batcave in the next film.
I wonder what Nolan has in mind for that.
