I saw the report that the Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is in need of a heart transplant and has been placed on the list. Sucks Yep. Sadly the pacemaker he had put in just a week or two ago didn't seem to help much. He was in the hospital during the MNF game.

Pacman OK?
NFL.com's Adam Schefter reports that a second opinion on Cowboys CB Adam Jones' neck revealed that Jones could play again "in a few weeks."
The first doctor told Jones that his injury was career threatening, but it appears Dallas could get him back by Week 17 if he's medically cleared. The injury won't require surgery and "Pacman" isn't going on injured reserve yet.

Well I'm happy with the fact that Pat and Kevin are playing again this week. The NFL should just hold off all suspensions until next season. As for Jackson starting....I am optimistic. I really do hope it helps and he did not look bad last week (yes, it was against Detroit but more along the lines of how the offense in general didn't change much). All the Vikes need is for New Orleans to beat Chicago and for them to beat Arizona to be NFC North Champions. First time since 2000....better yet, first time in the actual "new" NFC North. I hate the Vikings but I despise the Bears even more so I will be pulling for them to win the NFC North. I feel dirty saying that but if it keeps the Bears out,so be it.

I think the only good thing about having a 13-3 team go to 5-8 the following season is the Packers will not be the worst team in the NFC North, thank you kind Lions. Seriously though, it sucks. Least the Cards are doing well though, makes a change. ;D Yes, but on the bright side, maybe they will get a defensive coordinator and defensive staff that can pull their heads out? I mean, you got injured players, your defense is shuffled around, and you're trying to run man coverage without having the horses to do it? And if you can't get pressure on the QB (or stop the run), you don't deserve to win any games. Last Sunday I watched the Packer game at a bar, which I hate to do, because everyone in there seems to think that they know everything, but most of them don't know f*** all about the game. One guy was bitching that trading Favre was the reason that they were losing, and I asked him, "Does Favre stop the run or cover the pass?" He came back with, "Last year with Favre they were 13 and 3.", so I said, "Maybe so, but the offense was horrendous the first 8 games of the season. If it wasn't for the defense stepping up, they wouldn't have gone anywhere. And have you compared the QB rankings between A Rod and Brett?" He still carried on and on, but was completely silent when we watched Favre get beat by the 49'ers. ;D I think the team will be better next year, but they have to do some overhauling. And Ted Thompson better get away from his plan of building from within and not going after any free agents in the off season, or his time in Green Bay may be numbered ...

They sign a contract where they agree not to take certain substances, but when they're called on it, it's not their fault. And the only state they can try this case in is Minnesota because of their lax laws? Great message to send to the kids there. You don't have to take any personal responsibility if you're in the NFL. And before anyone says "You're only saying that because you're a Packer fan", if it was happening to someone on my team, I'd say that they should just shut up and serve their suspensions. Sure, they screwed up, but face the music. I didn't bitch when Packer players were suspended in seasons past for their malfeasance, and I won't in the future.

Where's the GIF of T.O. crying and telling everyone to leave "his quarterback" alone?
Never have liked T.O., never will.

(gasp) no way But that's his QB? Feh. Maybe he will get sent to Oakland. The story reads like some kind of fruity love triangle. Owens is jealous of Romo and Witten going over plays without including him. Or he's just paranoide. The guys a gypsy mercenary. Just wanders around to a new team every 2 to 3 years. I thought NY might be in trouble if Jacobs is gonna sit it out but Dallas is gonna be in more trouble if TO and Romo are gonna be making pissy faces at eachother for 2 hours.

I agree, except for the fact the stuff they took was not on the banned list. Starcaps were not banned. An unlisted (and supposedly unknown) ingredient in them was banned. I think they full well knew what was in it. But, if you want to prosecute people by the letter of the law, you have to let them off when that same letter provides them a loophole. Loopholes suck, but pretending they aren't taken advantage of in the real world by everybody is really naive.

I just read this as well. I was hoping that it wouldn't come to this in Dallas, but apparently, T.O. is still T.O.- the little baby that he always is/was/ever will be. (See what I did there? ) Yes, he's a damn good talent, but this is utter stupidity. If he had a problem with Romo, he should've talked to him about it instead of whining like a little girl. Hopefully, Romo won't let this bother him too much.

Updating a previous item, Clarence Hill of the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reports Cowboys wide receivers Terrell Owens, Roy Williams, and Patrick Crayton held a meeting with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett regarding their role vs. Jason Witten's role in the offense.
NFL Network's Deion Sanders, a confidant of T.O., suggested the complaints were coming from Crayton and Williams as opposed to T.O. Maybe he's rubbing off. At issue is the perception that Tony Romo relies on best friend Jason Witten at the expense of the rest of his options. Coach Wade Phillips is attempting to downplay the conflict
