So, I haven't picked up anything Marvel related in many a year, a great many years actually, ever since I soured so hard on Spiderman I turned my back on them and became a DC-oid since like '96 at least, with Image and Darkhorse rounding out my comics reading. Now today I picked up a Marvel MAX title Destroyer written by Robert Kirkman since I love his work on Walking Dead so much, and it was quite good. Anyway, it kind of made me wonder if there was anything Marvel Prime made in say the last 5 years that I might want to give a read in TPB form, any of the standard Heroes will do, except Wolverine, I'll always hate him. (well, except for Hulk V Wolverine, which was an awesome cartoon.)

First, above all, Brubaker's entire run on Captain America. The spy/espionage genre hasn't been this cool since Steranko's Nick Fury.
Also, Guardians of the Galaxy. Awesome book.
Other top-notch efforts at Marvel right now:
Captain Britain and MI:13 Avengers: The Initiative Incredible Hercules Thunderbolts

Ed Brubaker has succeeded in having me hope Steve Rogers doesn't come back as Cap any time soon. I'm loving Captain Britain and MI:13 as well Paul Cornell would kick ass writing Fantastic Four.

Anything cosmic.
NOVA, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and especially the WAR OF KINGS event currently ongoing.
Also, CAPTAIN AMERICA by Ed Brubaker. Fascinating stuff.

Pick up back issues of Deadpool. Especially the Cable&Deeadpool.
Back issues of Garn Ennis's Punisher.

Captain Britian and MI: 13 is pretty much the only Marvel title in my pull box at the FCS. Though Deadpool, Thunderbolts and The Avegers titles are all pretty good.

X-Factor is by far my favorite comic of all-time. Peter David is a genius.

Immortal Iron Fist and The New Avengers are the two regularly read titles that I swear by, especially IIF. I'm giving Mighty Avengers a try, but I'm not 100% sold on it just yet.

Immortal Iron Fist and Thor are the best titles at Marvel, though both have a slightly erratic release date. X Force and X Factor are the two best X Books right now, Astonishing is good but all so has a really erratic realase schedule. All the Cosmic stuff is awesome. Spiderman Noir and X Men Noir were both pretty good.

I wanted to get into it, but kinda got late to the game, so now I'm gonna have to wait for the TPBs.

oh and even if you aren't a fan of the Marvel Zombies stuff, MZ3 (already out) and MZ4 (starting now) are awesome and a complete 180 from the previous stuff. Fred Van Lente is amazing on them, and has done great stuff in them with Machine Man, Portal, Hellstorm and Morbius. After reading the script for one of the upcoming issues, I actually was compelled to tell him that he's my new god.

Spiderman Noir is pretty cool, it sticks close to his original story but switches enough things around that its fresh. It f***ing made The Vulture terrifying. X Men Noir was pretty good to, instead of being mutants the X Men are teen that are the dregs of society *Thieves* and Magneto is an Irish Immigrant who is the crooked chief of police. Its an interesting story about who killed Jean Grey and it has a cool backup pulp like tale written like the old Sci-Fi serial's from the 50's about Mutants, Sentinels, and space exploration. Haven't read the first episode of Daredevil Noir yet, hear its pretty much a regulaur DD story. The first issue of Wolverine Noir was pretty cool, Logan and Dog *Sabertooth are private detectives. Seems based off of the Maltese Falcon.

I can second this, I didn't like the first two MZ stories but liked 3 and 4 looks like it'll be awesome.

Honestly, I like the MZ stuff, for the most part, but I'm kinda burnt out on the concept, really. It's one of those things I'll come back to in TPB's and really enjoy alll at once once it's over.
