Oh cmon guys it's perfectly realistic for a man who is pudgy with graying hair and wrestling in a shirt to be able to beat down a guy 10 years younger that is the world champion along with 2 others.

Just book Shane knocking Big Show out with his Manny Pacquiao like blazing punches already and be done with it

And beating up guys with punches that miss by a clear foot. Hmm...l he also had his ankle snapped after the stairs missed by about that distance... I've got it... Shane is the Phantom Limb!

Kinda reminds me of the Shane/Kane feud from 03, RVD couldn't really get the upper hand on Kane, but Shane seemed to have no problems taking Kane down. Didn't Shane lose to Kane at Survivor Series 03 in a Ambulance Match? He also lost to Kane in a Last Man Standing Match at Unforgiven 2003. Of course, Kane only one because Shane missed the huge leap (which I seen live, and it was awesome).

Ten years ago when he was younger, Shane was a giant wuss and hired wrestlers to fight his battles for him, getting involved only when it was convenient. Now, fast forward to 2009 and he's going toe-to-toe with main eventers and looking like a credible threat to people who are in better shape and wrestle full-time, without help from anyone.
I want to know what stash the McMahons are getting into that make them so strong when they're in the ring.

Of course, Kane only one because Shane missed the huge leap (which I seen live, and it was awesome). Yes, it was awesome...but also highlighted the whole problem with the Kane/Shane fued. It wasn't that Shane was getting clean pins or anything. It's just that their matches basically consisted of Shane getting in tons on punishment on Kane, just for him to outlast it all and get the pin. Kane won that LMS due to Shane doing something needlessly dangerous and him having just enough sense left to roll out of the way. That's not a monster heel, that's a never-say-die plucky babyface move. Kane chokeslamming him off the scaffold gives you a much better ending. After two months or so of Shane being obviously able to hurt and floor Kane with his attacks, to the point of dazed unconsiousness, Kane finally getting the pins on him seemed anticlimatic because the clearest memory was the ass-kicking he took just to struggle to beat Shane. Now just replace 'Kane' with 'Orton' in that last sentance. I don't even object to how it's being done, I object to Shane being the one doing it simply because there are full-time pro wrestlers on that roster that could be benefitting hugely from doing it rather than the part-time greying boss's son.

Does anyone else see Shane McMahon being WWE Champion by the end of the year? I don't want it to happen, I've just got an inevitable feeling that it will. Welcome back David Arquette. Seriously, if it happens, this is 2000's WCW all over again, with a healthy dose of the Erik Watts era of WCW. - bretclark

Legacy can own MVP but get mega pwned by a non wrestler...that makes as much sense as the Chewbacca defense

Call it a rare case of WWE continuity. Like it or not but from the very moment they booked Shane being able to go toe to toe with an Olympic wrestling gold medalist 8 years ago in a no-holds barred match that some of you probably praised to the hills it became fair game for him to go toe to toe with Kane and now Randy Orton if he was able to hang with Kurt Angle of all people.
The whole 'well he got his ass beaten' doesn't wash because the match I still occasionally rewatch (KOTR 2001) was far from a ultra-violent squash. Raven's comments about Shane looking like a 'superman' at the time have clearly caught up with the rest of you.

Shane landed like 10 ft from Orton almost at the other end of the table unless Shanes Cross Eyed he looks dumb imo.

Reminds me of when DX reunited. A co-worker of mine talked to me about how her visiting brother had managed to fill most of her Xbox with wrestling clips. She described some to me (not knowing that I was a wrestling fan) and couldn't quite see the point of two wrestlers beating down some middle-aged guy in a suit and his 60 year old father. "Yeah, of course they'll win in a fight, what's the point?"

I think I got it. See, Orton and Legacy are able to beat up MVP, Batista, and HHH so easily because they are FULL-TIME performers, thus there is a lot of video out there of them for Legacy to study, finding weakness and little nuances they can exploit.
Whereas Shane barely ever wrestles, so what they see from him in the ring, they might not have seen for years, if ever. It's like fighting blind, each and every night!
Yeah, that excuse sucks . . . but do any of you have a better idea? (Other than whomever said that McMahons like to wack it to footage of themselves owning younger, stronger, faster, more agile, better looking, athletic wrestlers. That probably makes the most sense.)

He gets a yellow star before the match like in Mario.
When it runs out, that's when he loses, if you notice.

I'd hate for Shane to kill himself but that table seems more and more generic these days without the television monitors on the tables LOL be cool if he just did it with them in their and just broke 5k worth of equipment "Cole: WHAT ARE YOU DOING SHANE they were $5000 monitors on that table u could break these monitors COLE covers the monitors....." "shane thinks to himself: hmmm My dad owns this company! "ill do what ever the hell i want"
