Light tubes and scaffolding are just asking for trouble and injuries, what do these idiots expect to happen. 'Wrestling gone wrong'? With those kind of setups how was it ever going to go right. I guess they're trying to push boundaries and shock, but at serious risk to themselves.
The Hayabusa botch is terrible not only for the injury itself but after it the ref lifts his head and moves his neck around which is the last thing you're supposed to do to someone with an injury like that, they should be kept completely still as to not make things worse. And the other worker tries to put a headlock on him. Obviously they weren't aware of the seriousness of the injury at that point, but it makes it that much harder to watch.

I'll add this one in: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=U09oXyiAkOcAlthough its debateable whether or not the cage was meant to break (I believe that it was) the hard impact of the landing that legit knocked Mick out and the chair falling too and smashing him in the face is brutal.

I hate seeing any wrestlers injured (especially talented ones like Candido), but his injury wasn't life-threatening. If the physician who treated Candido's injury had set him up with a prescription for antibiotics and had given Candido simple advice in terms of what he should and shouldn't do (i.e. don't fly on airplanes), Candido would've overcame his injury and would most likely still be with us today. Candido's death was more a product of malpractice than a fluke athletic injury. The injury was merely the catalyst that led to his death.

I get weirded out by the ones involving eyes, so the Vader incident was very unpleasant to watch. Also, remember in '98 when Jarrett hit X-Pac with a guitar and he got a splinter in or near his eye? You couldn't even see the injury itself, but just them talking about it while he covered his face was gruesome.
Oh, and Benoit chucking Sabu upside-down on his neck makes me squirm.

Okay, this too. Candido's death was the first wrestling death that REALLY shook me up emotionally, mostly because I had no idea it had happened, and watched iMPACT that Friday which at the end of the show had the graphic giving his memorial it was like they dropped an A-Bomb on me, at first I didn't think it was real, thought it was part of the angle that was going on, and I felt worse when I got online and confirmed that he had passed. Sadly, it wasn't the first death to hit us by surprise in the wrestling world. What was even creepier about that was that Candido actually appeared on Impact, in a wheelchair, and said "Nothing will stop me from being at the Naturals' side!"

Worst I seen isnt on that website but at an indy show around 2000, there was a worker that did afront bump off the top rope to the floor, overshot the table and broke his back. He walks today but was paralyzed for a few months. This happened in Indiana, some of you might know about it.

See you guys mention all these and I can't watch ANY of them. I used to think Sid's was the worst, but I'd much rather break my leg like that than botch a lionsault and have the back of my head resting against my lower back. I mean I've seen them all but never again. Never Candido, never sid again, never hayabusa. Mike Levy was just horrifying to watch. If I were him I woulda grabbed a golf club and swung at each and every one of them.
Almost nobody has seen it, but I've only ever heard descriptions of Owen's fall. I don't WANT to see it, but I just want a visual of how the impact took place. Bret mentioned that Owen kept trying to sit up for 8 minutes to tell the crowd he was ok. Owen severed his aorta, and blood filled up his lungs leading to him ultimately drowning.
Candido's was also extremely sad. Saw it once, and actually watchted impact that week after to see his final appearance. Very very sad.
Ok I'm gonna go more positive with this and say Yokozuna/Dan Dubiel. Try watching that without coughing up a lung.

I also saw Owen live in the arena. I had nightmares for many months after.

This pretty much strenthens my belief that promotions like XPW and CZW serve absolutely no purpose being considered "Pro Wrestling." Its nothing but a bunch of gimmicky weapons match. Seriously, a weedeater? A ring full of light tubes? That pretty much states that you have no athletic talent and can't get over any other way than to put your body through macabre brutality. That's not my idea of sports entertainment.

That's not my idea of sports entertainment. I agree with everything you just said. The only problem is, some wrestlers in companies like these actually CAN get over and have successful careers without mutilating themselves. They just seem to think that risking death in the middle of the ring just so a few hundred people will think they're cool is worth the risk.

I witnessed Mark Briscoe land on his face when he shooting star pressed to the outside at Supercard Of Honor II in Detroit. The whole place went silent. I have never been so concerned about someone's safety before in my life.

I'm not saying that is 100% what happened, but it sounds more accurate than most other reports. It actually describes what went on inside Owen's body in his final minutes. It just sounds so much more realistic and believable.

why the hell would you do a shooting star press that close to a set of f***ing steps? at least pick a move where you'll be able to see that you're going to hit them and minimise the damage if you f*** up, with an SSP you're more or less blind until you hit the ground. i'm not gonna wish harm on anyone, but using such a low visibility move in that location is bloody moronic.
