Wow, this was disturbingly similar to a mother telling her children to behave or else..Ok bad analogy. The WTF is-she-talking-about faces some wrestlers had on were priceless. This shouldn't have aired and shouldn't even have taken place. The whole "my way or the highway" approach will have a lot of wrestlers asking for their release in the near future. Why would you want to stay in a company where your opinions and suggestions are NOT wanted if they differ from the direction managment wants to go? Even Vince Mcmahon has been described as someone who is always willing to listen to talent even if he might disagree. If morale in TNA was low before, imagine how it is now after that very condescending and unnecessary speech drawing a clear line between talent and managment. What Dixie communicated was pretty much "If your unhappy, keep your mouth shut or leave". Great way to rally up the troops..

I just laughed when I read the report that "This was not an angle, it was in fact real. The decision was made to air it even though many officials were against it. The one shown was the second take."
So they shot that twice? Think of how annoying it would be to sit through that one time. And they had to do it twice!

I honestly don't know to make of Dixie Carter addressing the roster, but I do agree with the majority that it should not have aired on TV.
And Madison Rayne looked like a whole different person without her makeup on.

Yeah, she looked gorgeous like she does in Shimmer. All part of TBP gimmick though I guess. Seems that with this and the signing of Hogan things have gone from seeming very promising in TNA to kind of bleak. If Hogan is in charge like he claims I can't see his booking style fitting with what TNA is and was throughout it's 7 year history. He's already talked about bringing more hosses in.

I don't really see Dixie as a bitch. I just see it as her telling the roster that they don't get to choose what to do in their job. That's what work is pretty much about.

Like I said in the Impact thread, I've got to give credit to Ted Turner for not trying to be the star of the show like every other wrestling promoter/owner (Bischoff, Russo, all the McMahons, and now Dixie).

I didn't pay attention to the speech. Dixie Carter made me energetic, if you get my drift.
Ugh, she is so damn fine.
Exit door, to the right...Thank you.

Pretty much what I'm thinking, too. At the end of the day, whether you get to provide suggestions to your boss or not (and I don't recall her saying anything that precludes them from doing so), it's pretty standard that you need to get with the program if you want to stay employed.

To his credit, I don't think Ted actually tried to run WCW himself, he just provided the funds. I don't think "WWE Clone" booking will help TNA in the long run.

Dixie may be the owner and she is technically right when she says it's her way or the highway but for morale that will be crushing
Nothing like being told your opinions don't count for jack to make you not care about your employer/job

Honestly, that promo shows that Dixie shouldnt be the president of TNA. Cause the promo actually makes all the reported rumblings of employees being upset become factual. And yes, nothing crushes your moral then your boss telling people that they have to be 100% behind her or find another job when they have been 100% behind her for 7 YEARS already, SEVEN YEARS! Then, how does it feel for an employee to ask for a release after that speech was made and she denies five people. Thats hell that she is giving people. I wonder what Hogan and Bish thought of the speech.

Did Dixie say the majority of that speech and then sneeze at the end? Did Dixie go off and curse every other word? I thought Dixie should have taken the family guy way out. Say her speech then Ladies and Gentlemen, Mister Conway Twitty.

To those stating "in any job, you do what your boss says" (paraphrasing), there's a massive difference in this case. Wrestling has always relied heavily on the ability to improvise, and that creatiity on the fly relies heavily on an individual's ability to feel connected to the character or gimmick they're portraying. If you intentionally handcuff the performers behind the scenes, the "public" execution will suffer in the long run.

The speech is all fine and good. Sorting things out with the workers and setting the record straight is good. Airing something that is supposed to be a private matter with the TNA staff is not. Stick to wrestling, storylines, etc etc. Airing that was basically saying "hey, we have problems internally, but we're trying to sort them out!" You just don't do that.

Victoria looked like she was gonna faceplant any second. And it also opens up the hilarious possibility that the first was a worse take. "No, we'll have to go again, that came across too draconian." "Righto! Take two!"

I personally didn't like it. Had she said "If you disagree, address ME, not the public or the media" I would have been fine with me. Such heavy-handed management is not exactly my favourite way of work. Then again, she's the president, it's her company. If it works for her, good. Or maybe, maybe, this whole thing was a work .

The speech should have ended with this...
The wrestlers' faces looked like the workers listening to a Lumbergh speech. Dixie should hang up a banner that says "Is this good for the company?"
Seriously though....every time she shows up on tv, it is bad news for the product and the fans. Her "Bobby Lashley is awesome" interview was a joke. This is even worse. Whether it is a work or real, it makes TNA look bad. It makes the wrestlers look weak and like they don't have a voice. It doesnt make the fans feel good... a bad business decision.

I didn't read the entire seven pages, but I agree it shouldn't have been on tv. What group of professional adults wants to be talked to like a group of children on national tv?
I know the reports are that this wasn't part of an angle or whatever, but I have to believe it is. Why publically embarrass everybody like that? Why did this have to be brought to the fans at all? Nothing is served by giving this to the fans unless other things on tv tie into it. It all fits too easily with Rhino's "conspiracy" theory angle and the arrival of Hogan.

To me it looked like your a-standard office meeting.
And I was thinking while I was watching it is "Where's Michael Scott? He needs to learn from Dixie Carter!"

I still don't buy that this was a legit meeting and not a work of some kind. 2 things:
1 - what kind of business would allow television cameras to film an official meeting? Furthermore, why would they have a business meeting out in the stands of the arena rather than behind a closed door in an office of some kind?
2 - This was the "second take?" If this were for the employees and not the fans, why on earth would they not only film it, but do it twice to make sure it looks good on tape?
