I'm unsure, and that's not good since I like to know going into Mania that Taker wins without doubt. But I most certainly wouldn't complain if it meant being rid of Michaels.

DAMN, now I have to go see a grief counselor to help me prepare for the loss of HBK, but if this is his last match, I hope he brings back the tights for old time's sake

Great, either way something that could have gone to a young up coming talent as a massive rub is gone forever. Remember when segments of the IWC were proclaiming that *Mr. Kennedy* should be allowed to get the rub of retiring Flair? (Although, in retrospect, it might have made for some fun segments on Impact this year...)

I have to admit, at first I didn't want this match to happen. But the buildup has been tremendous! My opinion made a 180 degrees turn. I can't wait to see this match.
That being said, I think Taker will win. I remember reading something about Michaels wanting to retire for quite a long time, but Vince kept asking him to stay for WM. Maybe this will be his goodbye.

I'll be even more sad when the defeated Shawn Michaels shows up at the Impact arena three months later.
I SAID IT.

I think he'll still be employed by some compacity after he retires. I remember reading a few years back, that when/if Vince steps down, HBK would be third in command, or something alog those lines next to Trips/Steph, and Shane but that of course was before Shane left.

There's where the true intrigue for this comes in to play. We've had reports for the better part of 2 and 1/2 years that Shawn knows his time is winding down. I remember in 2007 before he returned against Orton that there were reports that he wasn't sure he wanted to come back that time when he did. Then last year after Mania he vanished to spend time with his family until August. Maybe his time has finally come to an end. If not, Taker is staring at a 1 in the loss column.

I would love to see the streak end at the hands of Michaels. I think he's the perfect man for the job. He's the only man in the company with a long-standing feud with Taker, other than perhaps Kane, that could believably beat Taker. That, and I don't think Taker will be around long enough for anyone else to be a credible threat to the streak. If he beats Michaels this year, that is it, it will be intact forever.
The streak should not last. It's a fiction. Vince himself essentially said after SS 97 that no one is above losing in the wrestling business, including Taker. HBK is a legend, Taker is a legend, and if HBK wins it will create the biggest WM moment since maybe WM 3. That's epic.

Maybe they want Taker to lose at Mania so his matches at Mania aren't always so predictable.
Face it, if Taker was facing anyone else this year, he'd be almost a sure thing to win.

Either the Streak is ending, or the Career of the greatest wrestler of all time........ I WOULD HATE to be anyone else on this show trying to top THIS EPIC MATCH!

Am I the only one here that is unimpressed with this matchup? I LOVED LOVED LOVED their encounter last year, and this match is guaranteed to be at least very good...but, the thing is, they don't need a rematch. Period. The WWE trying to recreate the magic of the last encounter - even with the career vs. streak stip to sweeten the pot - is bound to fail, sadly.
Then again, I didn't watch RAW tonight, or the promo that made the match. But I'm still extremely meh over HBK/Taker 2, and truth be told, I would have much preferred Cena/Taker.

HBK will lose, then "retire", then be back in time for Summerslam for something.
Nothing is permanent in professional wrestling. Nothing.

Michaels loses, retires, and next year Taker loses the streak to Cena then quits. And by "then quits," I mean all of us.
