Please explain your conclusion. Just a guess. I don't think HBK will be around forever, neither will Taker. There's nothing left for either guy to do, so I see one going out this year, and the other the next. My apologies: please explain the bold.

At the 35 minute mark of the match the ref fast counts while both men are outside resulting in a double count out. Streak over, HBK retired. Then Taker and HBK team up as a mystery solving duo and spend the next year trying to to get to the bottom of it and discover who the ref was working for. The reveal is made at the next Mania. Kishi did it for the H. Because HHH needs that one push to solidify him as a main eventer.
Or a Dusty finish.

If this isn't the main event I riot!! Or not it's whatever lol. Seriously though, I wasn't thrilled about this rematch until I saw that vignette w/ the Placebo song. That video put everything in place and now the hype machine is running at full speed. I can't wait to see what happens.

I was a little undecided about this match as it only took place a year ago... but that promo last night changed my mind. This is the match i'm excited for the most this year, and it really needs to be the main event. I mean just look at what happened after this match last year.... hhh and Orton had no chance to outdo it. It'll be the same this year so they might as well just go ahead and make it the main event because in all honesty, no one is going to out do HBK or Taker. The only match that I could see that could possibly live up to it is Jericho and Edge. That's a maybe... lol mostly because i'm a Jerichoholic.

Count me as another who was dead set against this match when it was first thought about. However last nights promo and video packages finally sold me on it.
This is going to be the most emotionally draining match I will ever watch. On one hand I don't want HBK to have to retire, however I am against the streak ending. I know alot of people say the streak means nothing, but to me it does. It's probably also a big financial money maker for the WWE as well, as I am sure many fans buy the PPV to see if the streak stays intact. It's also a very huge part of Takers identity and to see it end would be gutting for me as a fan.
Like last year I shall be rooting for both, but wanting Taker to come out on top.

Taker. It's always going to be Taker for me.
That being said... both of these guys have to be winding down. Taker's knees and hips have about had it and Shawn has been wanting to leave for a while. It could go EITHER way...
I'm just praying, please no double pin so we lose both. That would be so rancid after all this.

HBK will lose, then "retire", then be back in time for Summerslam for something. Nothing is permanent in professional wrestling. Nothing. This. I mean, I remember the "Retirement" match between Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior. At the very next PPV, one half of the main event was the start of the angle that led to Savage's reinstatement.

Firmly with Taker here, not because I want shawn to "retire" but because I down want the streak to end (not like this anyway)
I like the time limit draw idea, but would the fans go for it? I'm not sure.

As much as I don't want to see the streak end, I don't think Shawn's retiring any time soon. I'm thinking HBK gets this one.

I'm going with Taker.Their is still one person they could use to have a big match with him at WM that would be epic,John Cena and too a lesser extent,Jericho. After that go ahead and end it if you want.

I'm actually really liking the idea of this being a trilogy.
Shawn wins this year, and you essentially repeat the storyline next year with Taker needing to avenge his only Wrestlemania loss. Shawn resisting, but eventually Taker costs Shawn something to goad him into the match.
Then you can either do career vs. career, or have a retirement match where both guys retire regardless of outcome.

Anyone else recall, about a year ago, an interview HBK did where he said his current contract expires in April 2010 and he intends to take at least a few years off?
I really think this is going to be it. Not Shawn's LAST MATCH EVAR, mind you, but I think this is going to be the end of seeing him as a regular member of the roster. He'll probably keep returning for the occasional PPV match over the next few years, but I think our days of seeing him on RAW every week (and the stretches of that have already been getting shorter in recent years) are coming to an end.

Remarkable job with the promo. Too bad the payoff matches so rarely live up to the hype. Hope this one goes well.

This match is boring because there is no interest or shock or variety in who will win. It is extremely obvious that HBK will win.
Why?
Well its obvious that HBK is not retiring. If HBK was retiring, WWE would have ran a year long angle like they did when flair retired. Also Shawn is in good shape and doesnt wrestle that much, retiring would make him a retard because he gets ton of money, makes billions for the company while working like once a week.
Undertaker on the other hand, won last Mania and its obvious that since he face same guy again, he has to return the favor and lose. Also all reports say that Taker is hurt and his knees are in terrible shape and that he probably wont be able to wrestle for a long time anymore. Also dude is mad old yo, when he forgets to color his hair with Just For Men (LOL) he looks like somebody's grandfather from the retirement village.
So, it is very clear who is winning and that man is HBK.
Its a shame because WWE could have done something interesting like putting Cena up against Taker and given us a new challenge where we wont be able to see the winner so easy.

You think that you wouldn't be able to see the winner so easy" when almost all his fueds end up like this: {Spoiler}Cena wins ?

As a fan, I'm really, REALLY torn. For the past few years, I have been a Shawn Michaels fan. The guy has put on amazing matches. For that, I am thankful, and a fan of his for life.
On the other hand, there's Undertaker. While I have been a fan of wrestling since 3/26/01 (it's easy to remember the date you became a fan when you start watching on the day WCW died), I always remember a time when I was watching TV as a little kid and remember seeing Paul Bearer and the Undertaker. Even though I changed the channel and didn't watch the promo they were doing, I remember thinking, "wow, that guy with the long hair and black hat looked and sounded really cool." Once I started watching in 2001 however, Undertaker became one of my absolute favorites (I don't care what anyone says, Bikertaker was freakin' awesome).
Fast forward to almost 9 years later, and I probably would have been shocked back then that the American Badass is STILL wrestling. Since then, I been to about 15 wrestling shows. Not a single show that I've been to, has Undertaker competed at. He was supposed to be at a show back in May 2007, but he wasn't able to make it due to injury. Needless to say, I was bummed out. I would experience that again at a SmackDown! house show in July 2008 when he was supposed to appear at the show but was "fired" from WWE at the time.
Now as I had said, I still have not had the privilege to be able to experience an Undertaker match in person. Back in March of last year however, I was able to see Shawn Michaels for the first time (against a reunited Rated RKO no less). While I am an HBK fan, I am also a die hard Undertaker fan. For me as a fan, it's hard to decide who I want to see win. I still want to be able to see Undertaker go on and keep the streak alive, but I don't want to see the curtain call of Mister WrestleMania.
