This is odd. A Mickie James thread and the customary argument within the confines of the thread isn't about Mickie James at all. Well this is the TNA forum after all. If TNA signed Steve Austin, Goldberg, the Rock, HBK and Brock Lesnar all in the same day people would still be unhappy with the company. That's because TNA has been unable to make ANY of their wrestlers seem like someone special. Angle, Joe, Styles, Christian, Steiner, Booker T, Foley, RVD, Hardy...within one month of their debut TNA booked them like 'regular guys' instead of as superstars. It doesn't matter WHO TNA signs because they have shown a consistent pattern of not being able to use them to their full potential. Seriously, I'd rather have an exciting and well-booked promotion headlined by the Dixieland Destroyers of the wrestling world than have all the greatest talent of the last 20 years be on one poorly booked and repetitive show where none of them get over. For almost a decade, TNA has failed at creating new stars AND at using old ones to their full potential.

7-10k buys on their ppvs.....more people order Horny Dorm Room Hotties on ppv than order TNA ppvs. Is it really that low? I've been looking for numbers on recent buyrates. Where did you find this out?

She won't have any impact ( excuse the terrible pun) one way or another really. Might have some decent matches etc but let's not kid ourselves and act like she'll bring any sorta ratings spike, buyrates, or anything of that nature. That said, it's not as if she'll cause any drop either.
I will say this, she should wrestle in the skirts again; just my personal opinion.

I'm not really sure she can have good matches in TNA, considering who she'd be working with and the brevity of Knockouts TV segments. It's not as if they will pair her with Hamada or something like that.

That's a fair point too. Especially in light of the fact that she'd been pretty botchtastic of late as well.

Also, remember how unprofessional she acted last summer when some spots didn't go according to plan.

I'm not a regular TNA viewer, but if Mickie signed, I'd go out of my way to watch their shows. So that's atleast one viewer they'd gain from signing her. Too bad I don't have a Nielsen box. LOL

Angle brought nothing. Hardy brought nothing. Hogan and Bischoff brought nothing. Mickie will bring nothing. Gotta disagree about Angle, he did improve ratings. I agree about Hogan and Bisch, they got some hype going and with a lot of spending ratings were up briefly but all that is shot now.

Why does every TNA thread have to descend into TNA bashing? Why it's the unwritten rule!! Anyway I like the news, I'm not a huge fan of hers but she seems to have a lot of fans, and it'll add to the KO division that some people think has been sliced down recently. i'm all for it. if she can give the KO division the shot in the arm it needs then so be it. on the inverse they need to build up viable challengers for her. i can't think of anyone there right now (that they're using) that can make me go "oh man i need to see that match. do i wanna see her vs. Sarita? yeah. vs. Taylor Wilde? yeah. vs. Roxxi.....meh. vs. Rayne...meh. if they actually make TBP interesting again then it could be a good feud. but since i'm not into seeing them bend over the ropes every Impact or PPV they've gotten more than stale to me. i digress, i'm anticipating what can happen.

Lol @calling Mickie WWE reject, Vintage IWC, so if Cena gets released one day and plans to go to TNA, would you call him WWE reject too? Comparing Mickie James to the WWE's top draw makes it pretty clear where you stand.

TNA really needs to sit down and figure out who they plan to use on a regular basis and who needs to go. Then from there they can decide if they have room for new people. Mickie may bring a small fan base with her and if she does that's fine. She's still got a lot to offer and if she goes to TNA and is used then good for her.

Your opinion. Lots of long-term fans have legit stopped watching after Hogan/Bischoff's reign of terror. And none of the expensive hires from the Hogan period actually accomplished what they were paid to do. and THAT's not an opinion, either? Of course not, don't you know anything, when people praise TNA, it's an opinion, but when they bash it, it's absolute fact....jeeeez, get with the program ;D

I'd love to see her wrestle again, but I doubt TNA's abilities to not book her into oblivion. This time around last year we had high hopes of Victoria getting a great push after beating Madison on Impact, now look how her stint in TNA ended. It's hard to not expect the worst if her direct predecessor left as soon as her contract run out.

As much as I love Mickie, if HULK HOGAN couldn't do anything for the ratings (in fact he lost half their viewers), she can't either, and TNA will be silly to shell out a huge salary on her. If Mickie really respected TNA, she should turn them down.

Tara came to TNA with a lot of hype due her experience and name recognition. People said she would finally get to show off her wrestling skills with real women competitors. She wouldn't be treated as joke like in WWE. And look how her TNA stint went. First she feuded with ODB where she won the Knockout title too soon and lost it just as quick. That feud was a dead end. Tara had to carry around that stupid ass spider. Then came the feud with the Beautiful People where she was paired against women who at the same skill level of the same Divas she was putting over. Then came the feud against a newly turned Angelina Love where Tara kept turning face and heel with no rhyme or reason. Once contract talks started with TNA, Tara got a lowballed number; just like they did with Gail Kim. So much for the grass being greener on the other side.
Mickie James would be a valuable additions to the roster if the Knockouts consists more than The Beautiful People, Angelina Love, and whatever women willing to wrestling for $200 or less. They already shown that they are willing to let some of the better women sit at home. Plus add in the fact Mickie's heart wasn't in wrestling the last 6 months.
The main reason why a thread in the TNA forum goes negative quickly is the frustration among TNA fans seeing TNA regularly piss away opportunities. From the Knockouts making no money while retreads Hall make good money for basically doing nothing. To going on Mondays woefully unprepared and running back to Thursdays. To seeing wrestlers like Wolfe go on a losing streak while Abyss get a monster babyface push. If you think this forum is bad, go on a college or pro football forum to really know what negativity is. They are more fanatical and diehard then any fanboy here. If you didn't win the national title, the season was a bust. You must get every top rated recruit during Draft Day. If there was no passion here, the board would be boring. The WWE forum is just as tough on WWE maybe more.

I can't see Mickie James really shifting the balance or even making a ding in TNA's overall ratings. Yes, she was WWE's most popular diva since Trish Stratus and a lot of people love her. On the otherhand, it's women's wrestling and most fans in general care very little about it.
I don't see WWE fans switching over to TNA because of her. They might check out her debut but once she keeps getting beat by the Beautiful People...fans will lose interest until she resurfaces in WWE once again.

I sense fat angle numero dos with TBP if she signs. I'm guessing that she will sign just to hype her CD some more, it should be running out of steam by then.

I forgot about the dream feud with Kong where TNA blow through the matches with little fanfare. What could had been on the level of Joe vs Angle was reduced to throwaways matches. Tara's stint in TNA was really disappointing overall.
