The Torch has learned that TNA began courting former WWE Diva Mickie James in late April, shortly after her WWE release on April 22.
The Torch has also confirmed that TNA plans to sign Mickie after her 90-day no-compete clause from WWE expires in late July.
On May 20, TNA president Dixie Carter started the buzz on Mickie James possibly joining TNA. Carter posted on Twitter that she attended Mickie James's CD release party in Nashville.
The May 20 event was not the first time Carter and Mickie James met. Carter and the former WWE Diva met in-person shortly after Mickie's release from WWE to begin informal discussions on joining TNA.
Caldwell's Analysis: I expect that Mickie James will instantly become TNA's signature babyface in the Knockouts division. TNA has a major need in that area after Gail Kim left the company two years ago and they haven't been able to fill the void since then. It will be interesting to see how much of a following Mickie James can bring to TNA from her WWE days, as she seems to have a very strong relationship with her hardcore fans. Of course, some of them turned out to be a little too extreme, as evidenced by the 22-year-old fan threatening to blow up WWE HQ after Mickie's release. Overall, Mickie coming to TNA would be a good addition to the Knockouts division, which consistently draws TNA's strongest TV ratings and needs a boost on the babyface side of the column. Of course, financial and budget concerns remain in place, but in this case, I believe there's more benefit to bringing in Mickie James than the cost of adding another contract to the payroll.

She is def going to TNA, this is a report similar to last year when Tara was about go to TNA.
Mickie would be a big improvement over Tara, she is younger, more popular, in her prime, she was in the title hunt before getting released unlike Tara who was the jabroni of the Division.
Also any KOs beating Mickie will get a huge rub.
