I wonder if the same peole who dislike Rey because of his size and defeating bigger wrestlers will complain the sameway when Bourne's push gets going strong. more than likely

Nobody died for Bourne to get a push. 2. Evan is a legit 5'7". Rey is a legit 5'3". Eddie was a legit 5'8" or 5'9". So, he's still got some height on Rey. I would prefer Bourne stay on the IC level myself. I miss the days when there were good IC levels guys like Perfect and Razor. Now, they give out World titles like party favors. It doesn't seem as special when a midcard guy like Jack Swagger wins it.

For me personally, I've stopped enjoying Rey because he isn't as exciting, but enjoys a top spot where a younger kid should be. For instance, he destroyed CM Punk in their feud. It makes no sense whatsoever for him to do anything but help give a rub to the younger guys, and he isn't, for whatever reason.
He's clearly lost a step, and frankly his matches don't carry the excitement to justify having him put over people with more momentum at this rate. It's not entertaining for me.
I don't hate him though. I just want him off of my television.

I could hope the barracade and pin the champ and get the title.. (how awesome would that be?? lol)

I just want to see him LOSE CLEAN from time to time as well, and not always come out on top of every single feud he's in. That, and I honestly still have a bad taste in my mouth from him running around possessed by the spirit of Eddie Guerrero.

My point being Bourne will be considered the underdog in every match he is in. 5"7 and 5"3 isn't that much of a difference once your in the ring with a wrestler 6"6 and taller. So he will beat the odds everytime he wins (pending he gets this push, which I hope he does) I probably didn't explain my point well enough in my last post. Its late, Give ol' Prime a break here. lol. I agree with your point about the world titles. If you have a ok month, You get a world title.

No. But neither was 'Taker/Kane. Or Austin/McMahon. Or WCW/nWo. I learned to check believability at the door when it comes to wrestling a long time ago. And ultimately, people dislike Rey because they prefer NWA over WWF. I don't like Rey's push to the moon and I like WWF/E. Actually, I was specifically refering to main event booking styles. Rey's position isn't that unique. He's pushed similarly to HHH, Cena, and Undertaker, who (not) coincidentally are the only other faces WWE has on his level (save Orton, and he's new to his alignment). In the last 5 years, only HBK and Batista have been ME faces and pushed in a different way. HBK stayed over due to his history, but repeatedly fell down to the upper midcard, only rising to full ME status when paired with one of the above. And Batista was a moderately successful try at something different, but he slowly grew less and less over as his losses racked up. The WWE had (and still has) conditioned its audience to accept long-term face-centric booking, in which the primary drama surrounding a world title match stems from the threat. This contrasts with the NWA/WCW heel-centric main event scene, best exemplified by Ric Flair and the nWo, where they rely on the chase as the primary method of keeping the audience's attention. This is entirely anecdotal, but my impression is that either a majority or very vocal minority of people on this site seem to prefer this style of booking. I'm not making any claims about you (or anyone else) as an individual, just addressing my perception of a trend at wrestlecrap.

I just think he's past his prime, terrible on the mic, and should really take his long-term well being into consideration so he can play with his kids and all that crap.

Rey went from IWC darling to a guy the IWC can't understand. Chalk it up to the guy having success and being a main event guy (The IWC hates success sometimes) but even after his success the IWC didn't hate Rey they just didn't love him like they use to.
Then Rey got over CM Punk (A guy the IWC loves despite his success) and the IWC went from indifference to hate. I don't hate Rey I hate the fact that creative put that stupid mask on Punk rather then let him just have a shaved head (Like the rest of his SES followers).

The reason I don't like Rey anymore is because I've seen enough of his act to know that he's being unfairly pushed ahead of other wrestlers. Case in point, he injures Undertaker and thus is punished with a spot in the Fatal 4 Way main event for Smackdown. Can you explain to me how that works? I know the roster is wafer thin but this could easily be a chance to elevate a mid-carder (MVP for example/Kofi) to the spot where they at least look like a star. Instead I have to watch Rey do his 619 and pretend to buy into the logic that he's an "underdog" even though he beats everyone. Heck, if he wins the belt then they'll probably make out Swagger is an athlete of mammoth proportions just to make Rey look like an underdog.
It was barely acceptable back in the Cruiserweight days. In 2010 it's just boring.

For everyone claiming the IWC only hates him now because of the CM Punk feud - where were you during the exploitation of Eddie Guerrero? People have been hating on Rey for over four years now.

For everyone claiming the IWC only hates him now because of the CM Punk feud - where were you during the exploitation of Eddie Guerrero? People have been hating on Rey for over four years now. That seems to be the most common spot in time when people began turning on him. I can remember a few others as well. When he returned as the Silver Surfer Dildo at Summerslam people were turning on him then. The feud with Kane turned a lot of people on him. Great as the matches were, some people started despising him during the Jericho feud. Him beating Batista really got some people's ire up. And yeah, the main sticking point being Eddie-sploitation. This isn't just something that has emerged from the Punk feud. This has been building for half a decade now.

The fact that Shawn Michaels wrestled from 2005-2010 wearing a similar knee brace under his similar pants and never injured anyone with it to my knowledge.

Yeah, it's longer than just the Punk feud. Why do people seem to forget the Dolph depush? But its at a level now that it hasn't been before. After the ppv against punk, every other thread was a Rey hate thread. Of course people are going to link the rey hate as the main reason because he beat punk, Because the samething happened when punk lost the world title to Hardy and Taker. Hate thread after hate thread.

That's cause it was Punk, not Dolph. Dolph doesn't inspire 24 page PUSH DOLPH threads. Which is sad, because he's far better than Rey at this point.
