yeah I just watched it, awesome stuff, I was marking out so much. When Barrett first came down I was thinking 'I know where this is going'. But the second I saw Tarver I was like 'what the hell is going on here' and then it was just awesome!
and let's not forget that the Cena/Punk match was quite good up until that point. This so wouldn't have worked as well if this was Cena vs. Mysterio!

You know what? I just have some feeling this might happen. The NXT 1 vs WWE, or NXT 1 vs NXT 2 will happen in a War Games match. Now either of those would be the s***. I think I just did something I'm not proud of. I won't admit to it, but it was an enthusiastic reaction for how great I think your post was. I will now take a cold shower.

Man if Vince is behind this all I think it'd probably suck. I'd like it if they were more like an nWo outsider/rebel stable as opposed to being helped by Vince a la nWo 2002. That'd be a total buzzkill in my eyes.

they should have smashed the spinner belt. Wow, that could actually happen. Id also like to credit Michael Cole, the way he sold it before he ran was brilliant, he made it sound like the whole thing was legit.

If you are gonna 8 heels in a group, if you don't have 8 faces to face them...you don't want an nWo thing..." It would kill their heat by not having worthy opponents and just gang attacking people. He thinks this'll get old fast.
My brother's arguement for ending the roster split. He was an indy manager for a while.
"It's a lose lose situation for guys getting hired. Big guy who looks like Batista (Baretta) keeps stiff arming everybody..." He doesn't think the NXT guys will be around too long.

I mean I'd much rather see Cole behind this all than Vince. For one it would work a lot more that there was a mole on the inside all along, and most people hate Cole and view him as a little weasel anyways, so turning him heel would make tons of sense, not to mention him somehow escaping unscathed last night seems a bit odd. I still think about Vince's promo on Bret last week though and it makes me wonder if that's the direction it's going to go. In any case there are tons of different directions that they can take this thing.

To the people saying this would work with TNA but not with rookies I bet as many WWE fans watch NXT in a week as do Impact. Plus the fact that they have appeared on Raw, Smackdown and Superstars. It's not like they're the Usos and nobody knows who they are.
BTW I think the Cena "thumbs up" was because they thought alot of children in the audience would believe this was real.

I really don't think it's going anywhere. I think it was just a thing where the NXT rookies go out with a bang, not to be heard from for a long time, with the exception of Wade Barrett and possibly Daniel Bryan.

The plot thickens... What the heck are they planning? Think I'm going to stay away from wrestling sites till smackdown airs. I'm going to be soooo tempted to read the smackdown spoilers (and I NEVER read spoilers) and I REALLY don't want to be accidentally spoiled.

How do you figure? This doesn't come down to name power because if AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Davey Richards and KENTA invaded they would be in the same position. It comes down to booking and that is all. If creative over the next month books them to be some unstoppable, unrelenting machine the fans will buy it. This is evident by how many people on here loved it along with reports of the fans at the arena buzzing about it. If creative has them lose and look weak then they will not get over. Fans are begging for something different from what they get. This could easily be it and most of us will go with it...as long as it's booked right. This isn't 1996 where somebody showing up is surprising. We'd know they were coming in 2 months in advance, they'd show up, do the same thing and we'd be like...awesome! Not because it's TNA invaders but because of the booking of said TNA invaders. Hey, I like hostile takeover/mass chaos angles when done right, and last night was pretty good. Again, all I am saying is when you deal with characters that the audience doesn't really know too well, and thrust them into stretcher angles with a top babyface, it is going to be hard to sustain moving forward because that is not enough of an establishing to make them credible. Daniel Bryan spit on Cena and kicked him. Ok, but is anyone going to look at him as a legit threat if they faced 1-on-1? TNA gets 1 to 2 million viewers every week. Fans would probably have some clue who Joe and Styles were, even if they were not avid TNA watchers (although a good percentage would have no clue either). In that case it would be simple. Have Joe come out, he'd be recognizable to the percentage that know of him, and he'll be easy to build up to the ones that aren't familiar with him. If NO ONE was familiar with him, then it would be damn difficult to put a Joe/Cena match and have people give a crap about it. That is the scenario I see with this angle, where they climaxed too early and won't have anywhere to go from here. Again, I am not an avid WWE fan, just watched the YouTube clip because of the buzz here so I could be wrong. Unless Vince is the "higher power" in this angle, it'll be hard to sell the fans on those guys being legit threats to the WWE's top stars. But who are AJ Styles and Samoa Joe to a mainstream audience? The inherent issue with your point is just as many people watch NXT as TNA and those watching NXT are probably already watching Raw on Monday night. This group makes a ton more sense than any of the TNA names that weren't previously in the WWE, as those guys don't have anywhere near the exposure as Hall and Nash did when they showed up in WCW. Samoa Joe and AJ Styles show up and its "Whose the fat guy and short guy?" to most people watching. It certainly has "flash in a pan" potential, but using TNA guys makes it almost less shocking (its already been done), less relevant (again, TNA's audience is as big as NXT's audience) and less impactful (bad pun, but the NXT guys are at least relevant to the audience watching Raw). I'm hoping this is played as young guys done wrong by the establishment and forced to do stupid things instead of doing what they do best (wrestle), with a puppet master pulling the strings to unleash their frustrations on the establishment, not nWo version 420204289 1/3.
