Surprised they didn't have a minute's silence before the cup semi-final for Hillsborough. They didn't? That's pretty low, but I wonder if after the 20th anniversary memorials a couple of years ago they've gradually started to scale back the minute's silence etc? Definately not the right move, but it might be the way they're going. On the subject, a couple of months ago I watched the Football Focus Special for the 20th anniversary on Youtube. It reminded me that when they bother to put some effort in, they CAN do excellent sports coverage on Terrestrial telly.

Maybe they felt a minute's silence during an all-Manchester match was asking for trouble.
Granted, most of the crowd would have observed it, but a few idiots probably wouldn't.

They are worrying about nothing. West Ham moving into that Olympic Stadium won't affect Leyton Orient in any significant way. Leyton Orient will always have their own loyal fanbase I've heard this argument a few times and still don't buy it. Orient have an established support now but in twenty years time what are the local kids going to want to go and see? Premiership football or League One football? The problem is it's going to slowly kill off Orient's support with everyone in that catchment area who would have gone to watch Orient going to watch West Ham instead.

No matter how good Porto are doing domestically they're still not in the top 10 best teams in Europe. Barcelona are head and shoulders above everyone else at the moment and are likely to stay that way for the next year or two. I would say Porto is in the top 10, European wise, even if it's like the 10th. Sure, I'm suspect because not only I'm Portuguese but also a Porto supporter, but there might be about 6 teams in Europe that would win 7 or more games out of 10 against them, IMO. I think the tricky thing is that Porto are more or less expected to run away with the league each year (barring something amazing from Sporting or Benfica) so if they win the league it doesn't really prove anything to the rest of Europe. Yes they've done well to get to the semis of the Europa League but Fulham got to the final last year and not even Fulham fans would say they're one of the best teams in Europe. Maybe you are in the top 10 as I'm sure you can give some teams a hard game but (as much as I hate to say it as I think it's greedy and overblown) continued success in the Champions League is probably the best way of assessing this.

Fact that Porto are unbeaten and can still win a Treble is a massive achievement no matter in what country or league you play in.

Often football support runs in families. If a kid's dad supports Leyton Orient, they probably will too. Besides, in today's football, with Sky Sports and the amount of coverage the Premier League gets, it's easy to kids to watch bigger teams than Leyton Orient and support them instead. Whether the club is physically near where they live isn't always a factor. Plenty of people in the south support Man Utd despite living hundreds of miles away from Old Trafford.

What an end to that game. I particularly love Dalglish telling Wenger to "piss off".

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh Arsenal, you slay me, you can't even keep a lead that you luckily gained in the 98th minute.
Title challenge? In the wise words of Kenny Dalglish: "piss off"

Wow. I never thought I'd be so happy for a Liverpool penalty. I feel dirty now.

Amazing end to that match. Not sure what Wenger's complaining about. Lucas was obviously pushed.

It's that when you have a FA Cup semi-final one day after the 22nd Anniversary of a disaster that happened in a FA Cup semi-final, I thought they might have one. I'm not really upset by it, just surprised.

The Premier League should expand to a second division of 20.
Leeds, Forest, Norwich etc....
Interesting double standards from Ferdinand about Balotelli...
Wonder if he felt the same way when Gary Neville did the same thing to Liverpool fans at Old Trafford. Not sure why it would be different when scoring a goal, as opposed to the final whistle.

What radio station were you listening to? The media are notorious for being all hush hush when it comes to us. I'll tell you what I heard oh so much about at the start of the season - talk of us being favourites for relegation. We proved the doubters wrong there. The playoff push is still very much on by the way. Thanks for asking. We've been on a bit of a patchy run lately, but I still have faith. Thankyou for your concern.

Benny Feilhaber signed an MLS contract. I like Benny and he has a lot of talent, but this is a good move. MLS isn't the greatest league but he needs consistent PT and playing in the MLS is better than playing in the 2nd Division of Denmark.

I personally think taking one minute out of two games every year to respect the dead, isn't really going too far. As for Heysel, I think more should be done to commemorate the victims of that disaster. I don't really know what the Belgians do to mark that disaster every year but I do know that there is a plaque at Anfield commemorating it. Not saying that excuses Liverpool of any blame but I do know that the stadium wasn't fit to host a football game, let alone one of that magnitude and it don't think it hosted another game for years after that. So maybe that would be why there's not as high a profile of the tragedy.
