Just got back from seeing a midnight showing, and I gotta say... Thor was friggin' AWESOME! ;D Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston were both phenomenal. I wasn't really all that excited about the latter at first, but damn... he did a perfect Loki. And I really, really hope that Marvel one day does a Warriors Three spin-off, as the guys they had in those roles were damned good, too. I also really dug the use of the Casket of Ancient Winters. All of this said, though, I have 2 relatively minor complaints: {Spoiler}1.) Heimdall. I don't like what they did to him and I don't like why, particularly since it kinda steals Hogun's thunder.
2.) Balder. Or, more accurately, the lack of Balder. I think the movie did just fine without him, but it would still have been nice to see him in at least a cameo. Still, they're minor complaints, particularly if we never get a Warriors Three spin-off (and I honestly doubt that we will). Also, on the subject of the potential Luke Cage cameo, I kept my eyes peeled during the credits and didn't see his name. Which is fine by me, as I want the New Avengers as far away from the Avengers film franchise as possible. Besides, I don't think Luke Cage would really fit as a SHIELD agent anyways; seems like he'd be better off in his own film and/or a buddy film with Iron Fist.

Just got back from a midnight showing, and it was AWESOME! Hemsworth was brilliant as Thor, and Hopkins was great as Odin, and the rest of the cast performed admirably, but Tom Hiddleston as Loki absolutely walked away with the movie for me. From start to finish, he worked extremely well. Can't wait to see where they eventually go with that. And the Hawkeye cameo was great, even if it was a little brief for my tastes.

Just got back. Loved it. 3-d was awesome. Really pissed I was too tall to be in this movie.
My only gripe: the wisecracking earth girl. I was really enjoying the Asgard sequences and when he was cast down, the movie slowed for me. Plus I got really tired of her saying random things like "Ipod!" in order to be the comic relief/modern audience connector. I could have easily gone for an entire Asgard movie.

Timelessness is always good to shoot for, IMHO.

Absolutely loved it! Seen it in IMAX (and 3D too, unfortunately, though it wasn't too distracting). The action was great, set pieces and costume design beautiful, acting was good (Hemsworth will go places), comedy was done right and Kenneth Branagh handled the material well. It also has the best Stan Lee cameo so far.
I might check it out in 2D eventually.

Yeah, it was brilliant. I saw it over here last week, and was waiting for a thread to be made here. My only complaint would be that i was expecting a little better after-credit scene. Yeah, i know it will be a big part to the Avengers, but i don't know i was probably expecting a bit too much, i guess.

Im always amused that American movie goers cheer, boo and clap in the middle of the film.
In the UK silence must be observed or you'll be asked to leave.

Yeah, it was a little underwhelming since they usually use it to introduce a new character or something about the team. This one was pretty long though. Quick question for those who were looking closely {Spoiler}Was the infinity gauntlet in the hall of trophies? Any easter eggs in general?

Saw it tonight and loved it. Possibly the best Marvel movie ever! But I do have to disagree with you guys on one thing though, I love Kat Dennings!

Just got back from it.
It was a fun time my only issue that I realized coming home what I had a problem with the fact that Loki was the villain but his evil act was killing the frost giants. The reason I didn't like that was that the frost giants were portrayed as purely evil monsters while Loki's motivations were fully displayed so you end up sympathizing more with Loki than the frost giants.
Good movie though glad I saw it.

Checked this out tonight. Really liked it. I can see why some people have a problem with Kat Dennings character but it didn't get to me too much. Fish out of water portion of the story wasn't as hokey as I was worried it might be so that was a plus. I felt it was better than Incredible Hulk and Iron Man 2 but not quite as good as the first Iron Man. Looking forward to Captain America.

Tired and don't feel like typing a huge post, so I'll make it short and sweet.
I've been reading comic books since age 5. This movie brought a tear of pure fanboy joy to my eye.

Just saw it tonight. LOVED this movie....can't say I had any major gripes with it, other than one thing: {Spoiler}Where was Valkyrie? I figure that since Thor was going to sacrifice himself to save the humans, she would whisk down on her horse and bring him to Valhalla (again, WHERE was that? It was mentioned, but never seen IIRC) where he would regain his powers and be brought back as Earth's "official" protector/delegate from Asgard. Other than that, I thought it was PERFECT. The CAP trailer before it? Not so much. The blatant and obvious "head swapping" s*** with Chris Evans looks absolutely pathetic and laughable, and I *still* don't buy him as Cap on iota. I'm sticking with my prediction that it will be the weak link of the AVENGERS hero films.

I saw it last week when it first came out over here, and... I thought it was crap. There were good bits, but in all I really didn't enjoy it. Of a group of 6 that went to see it, I was one of 3 who had this opinion. So it baffles me to see the near unanimous praise for it. I'm a huge Thor fan, so I'm glad it's being received well, but... I dunno. I didn't like it.

By the way, I'm heavily considering seeing this in theaters again. The only time other time I did that was with The Dark Knight.
