long boring staredown /=/ me getting interested HHH vs. Taker I've seen a few times, twas alright at WM17, but I really wouldn't wanna think about their King Of The Ring 2002 encounter too bad Steve Borden wasn't there  |

HHH did get a bigger pop because it was a surpise and HHH been gone a lot longer. Taker been gone under 6 months. HHH been gone since April. So yeah everyone was really happy to see him comeback. Everyone knew Taker was coming back. Because they should him on last weeks hype video. To have him return at the same moment as Taker was good for the first step for the match. But bad because it took away Taker return.
The match make sense for Taker taking HBK career. HHH want revenge for taking his best friend from him in the business. But how these two left. It makes little. Unless they finish all of that after maina. Even though they faced off at Mania. Still some interesting stuff.

One other thing. Nothing so far has shown HHH is doing this for revenge. I'll be willing to bet that Michaels is only brought up in passing, and HHH just wants to end Taker's streak.

It would crack me the hell up if HHH went over at mania. Not that I expect that, but even so.
Would possibly be the most embarrassing booking decision in wrestling.

It was really, really bad. No explanation, they just come out, stare at each other, ignoring what put BOTH of them out, no promo, NOTHING - they just stare at each other, then the sign, and now apparently they're in a match?

You're correct, Triple H isn't on the level of a megastar that WWE always wants us to believe
Put it like this... suppose WWE had a Mount Rushmore with all it's Top Stars in place of the presidents
I HIGHLY doubt that Triple H would be one of those faces
It'd look just like the cover of the Legends of WrestleMania video game
Triple H is just there. He's a star, a WWE Superstar, but he's always the number 3 kind of star. He's there when you need him because he's just good at what he does. His presence is like the 3rd wheel on a date.
