I've been hearing the term 'burial' being thrown around like nobody's business lately, usually in response to something that doesn't even remotely fit the classical definition of a burial. With that being said, these recent 'burials' have got nothing on what's in my opinion the most blatant, shameless burial of all time, the Spirit Squad. Good Lord, the Spirit Squad.
It's not even just them jobbing out to an ancient Roddy Piper and Ric Flair, it's not being booked to look like utter wusses that can't even win a 5-on-2 handicapped matches, it's not just being literally crapped all over.
You're destroying the career of everyone in the group not named Dolph Ziggler by literally putting them in a box stamped with a joke 90% of the audience isn't going to get, but how do you make it even more obvious that this, my friends, is a burial? It's Trips' final line to the UPS OPS driver, when asked if he wants to insure the airhole-less box.
"Nah, this isn't worth a crap."
Well, there you have it.

When London & Kendrick encountered Triple H

I know this one always gets brought up, but still. Triple H laying out London and Kendrick with pedigrees for no f***ing reason after they came to help him. I'm not one to jump on the "TRIPLE H BERRIES EVERYONE!!?!" brigade, but that was just baffling.

The Spirit Squad should never have been a serious act though. These guys had the gimmick of comedy jobbers to be fed to the likes of DX, but for some reason Vince tried to make them a serious act.

This. The Spirit Squad collectively sucked and shouldn't have even feuded with DX in the first place. Vince's lackeys should have been Cade & Murdoch who, as well as been much better in the ring could easily have looked credible against DX without making DX look weak.

The Spirit Squad was definitely a burial, and they were pretty damn over. I liked that they Freebird Ruled the belts. I wish Nexus had done that. And come to think of it, the Corre should do it with the IC and Tag belts.
Have Barrett lined up vs The Big Show, only for him to smirk, change his mind and send in Big Zeke.

It wasn't so much a 'burial' seeing as he's US Champ now, but Triple H kicking Sheamus's ass like that was definitely a blatant "this guy isn't in my league" depush. He went from bona fide main eventer to US champ and midcarder. Not a burial but certainly a demotion. I have no problem with Sheamus being in the midcard though, having guys like him and Ziggler going for the US title will bring some excitement to the midcard.

Orlando Jordan went from being the US champion in a dominate stable to repeatedly losing to Benoit in under a minute. Benoit then made videos of what he could do in that time (eg making a cup of coffee) and Jordan was laughed at by Booker T and Sharmell when he offered them his help. Poor Orlando then spent most of his time on velocity until he was wished well in his future endeavours.

Whenever Triple H wins is a burial for everyone else.
