Obviously last night's PPV was an IWC love ppv, with all the IWC darlings getting the big wins. But is it the way to go? The Punk RAW didn't draw last monday. Daniel Bryan winning, Christian winning etc, is that the way to go? While, the IWC may love it, we are the minority of the wrestling audience.
They will put the belt back on Cena and Orton etc.. before you know it when they see viewership dropping like flies

The Punk RAW didn't draw last monday. IIRC, Punk drew over a million viewers. You can't blame the Raw rating on Punk.

But the Punk segments were the highest rated of the show...as seen in the break down thread from last week. So no, RAW might not have done good last week in terms of viewership, but Punk wasn't the reason

Maybe its not appealing to some fictional sub-set of the fanbase.
Maybe its just good writing.....

Do your research before you post a thread, Punk had the highest ratings last week.

Why are people obsessed with having a unique point of view?

Yep. Punk was the highest rated segments last week. Everything else dropped the ball.

Also, there are guys that can appeal to the IWC and the general WWE audience. WWE just needs to push them right. Plenty of examples over the years.

Why are people obsessed with having a unique point of view? Here's a better question. Why are people obsessed with making sure anyone with a unique point of view shouldn't have one?

Why are people obsessed with having a unique point of view? Randy Orton has slightly-less-than amazing thighs.

That Punk segment last week gained in a additional 1.46 million viewers. It was one of the biggest viewership gains in past few years

Maybe its not appealing to some fictional sub-set of the fanbase. Maybe its just good writing..... This. If what Punk was doing was only catching on with the imaginary "IWC Hivemind", he wouldn't have gotten any mainstream press and it would be business as usual.

If WWE can survive months and months of D-List celebrities hosting, pushing some "IWC Darlings" won't hurt.

Last week I watched only the Punk segments, as none of the matches actually were of any interest to me.
I'd like to see them switch up matches instead of just tossing 6 guys out for a 6 man tag, as those have become stale to me.

Exactly Points of view are points of view. Yes, some people like having points of view solely because they see it as them being unique, other people have points of view because of legitimate feelings. Regardless, they're still points of view that they are entitled to, no point of view is worth more or less than another, which is why things such as this wonderful forum exist in the first place.

Where is the logic that says people popular on internet message boards can't also be popular with live and TV viewers?

Oh my god.
So all those people cheering when Daniel Bryan got the briefcase, when Del Rio won his match, when Mysterio lost his mask, when Punk entered, all of them are internet nerds?
John Cena has over 700k Twitter followers. the days of the IWC being a bunch of nerds who hide behind a messageboard are dead, if they ever existed in the first place. CM Punk is popular on here because he is popular on WWE TV.

I think they are just turning their booking up a notch and things all converged nicely for 'us' last night.
It's no secret that Punk, Bryan, Del Rio and Christian are hugely talented wrestlers. They have all been given good pushes already in WWE, it's not really a sudden thing. It just all happened at once last night and people are presuming that it is WWE finally doing what the IWC said they should. WWE may have been conservatively booked in recent years, but none the less Vince McMahon is a genius. He has forgotten more about Pro Wrestling than most other people will ever even know.

Not exactly "imaginary" when you have comments like the following. Why are people obsessed with having a unique point of view?
