..roster. Kinda funny that there are like a grand total of 4 blondes. And really the only "cookie cutter" one is Kelly Kelly. Beth and Natalya are both more muscular types and pretty good workers, and Maryse at least has an interesting persona. Seems like people making a big deal over nothing, really.

The generalisation/insult of the "Generic Blonde" has pretty much been replaced with "girls hired from a Swimsuit Catalogue", or "Diva Search Contestent" or just plain old "model".

The gal is built like a brickhouse man, not exactly the normal "Johnny Ace" type people say only get hired.

Well Rosa was one but she dyed her hair.

Fair enough. Let's remove the blonde part and just keep the generic cookie cutter bit. And suddenly we have a more apt description of the women's division over the last few months. Happy now?

I posted Kaitlyn because the OP mentioned that there were only 4 blondes in WWE.

There was a time where every diva either was blonde or had blond streaks in their hair. Somebody apparently told them if you all look the same, nobody will remember you...especially booking. Rosa's hair looks so much better black, and I wish Eve would change her color because it looks odd on her. I wish there were more brunettes, ravens, and red heads to go around. Also....could we can it with the hair extensions? I know it's been proven in many studies that men think long hair is more attractive, but your hair doesn't need to look like an angora rabbit moved into your head and had 100 kids.

Apparently Aksana dyed her hair brown. A dying breed blondes must be.

Kaitlyn is awesome and not really generic. Her and AJ have quite a lot of personality and charisma. Kaitlyn still needs some work in terms of in-ring ability. But she's getting there.

The whole model thing bugs me, just because I've seen people write off the newer divas as models and do the whole "They'll never be Trish Stratus". Trish Stratus wasn't really Trish Stratus when she started. She was a model who sucked ass in the ring, but she learned.

Finlay played a huge part in training the divas including Trish...

Trish Stratus wasn't really Trish Stratus when she started. She was a model who sucked ass in the ring, but she learned. Indeed, but the difference here is that most of these other models really haven't improved that much. Take a look at Rosa Mendes for example. She was horrible years ago and she's not much better today. And she's been in the company for years at this point. That's plenty of time for most rookies to learn. The prime example of this was Candice Michelle. She started to improve, but then took one bad fall which pretty much ended her in ring career. She was never able to recover from that. And Candice as well was also a model. Their bodies really aren't built for the sport. And sure, they could try and get themselves in better shape enough to handle in the ring stuff, but as seen with any divas in the WWE that dare to look average in size they'll either be used sparingly, ala Beth Phoenix, Gail Kim, and Natalya, or mocked in a tasteless angle ala the now released Mickie James or even Vickie Guerrero, who isn't even a diva to begin with. I'm all for giving these models a chance to learn, though personally I wouldn't have hired them to begin with, but if they don't start learning then they should either stick to a backstage role or be shown the door.

I don't get the idea about the "models aren't built for it". Candice is an exception not the rule as it's mostly the "wrestler" girls who get hurt and are out for months. And usually, it's a case of them hurting themselves. Melina and Beth Phoenix tore their ACLs while simply walking across the ring.

And usually, it's a case of them hurting themselves. Melina and Beth Phoenix tore their ACLs while simply walking across the ring. It's partly a matter of experience and conditioning. Most of the male wrestlers spent long years as athletes in school. They were football players, amateur wrestlers, MMA fighters, etcetera. That kind of life toughens you up (or at least weeds out the fragile ones) and makes you more ready for the hard, painful life that wrestling has to offer. But most of the bikini models? Not so much. They're just not used to this sort of thing, and most of them never get used to it. The company tries to keep their in-ring risk to a minimum, by having them mostly competing in very short matches with fairly simplistic spots. Of course, that has a side effect of them never learning or getting better, because they're wrestling the same handful of mostly-inexperienced opponents in matches so short that all they have time to do is mostly just repeating the same handful of signature spots that they do every night.

It's the girls who are supposed to be really good who aren't handling bumps well and tearing ACLs walking across the ring while the girls who are called fragile and clueless do plenty of things that could hurt them without getting hurt.

Wrestling opened my eyes to how easily injuries can happen. Sometimes it doesn't matter how experienced you are, how good your conditioning is; injuries can happen at any time to anyone.
