I don't know why you think it'd take a flurry of kicks, honestly. One stomp, putting your heel into the knee and pushing your bodyweight into it, and it's over, even if Nash didn't have bad knees. You dislocate someone's knee and they're not in the fight anymore, they're on the ground writhing in pain, and it really doesn't take a lot of force to do it in because it is all tendon holding it in place.
Nash doesn't have to stand there and give Punk a free hit, he just has to miss on an actual, committed punch (and I don't believe that even Nash would be taking someone out with a quick jab). The same problem with missing with a kick also holds true for most punches, a more agile opponent can take advantage and take you out. And given that Punk is most definitely more agile than Nash right now, that's not that far out there to imagine. He doesn't have to unleash a flurry, he just has to get in one good shot there.
As for punching to the face, if everything was as simple as one punch to the head ending it, that'd be all that any fight and every martial art consisted of. The cranium is hard, the bones in your hand are a lot more fragile, and for people to act like all that's ever required to end a fight is a fist to the head really ignores the anatomy of the body and the way people have fought for generations. Now, a Nash punch to the face, sure, that's like a battering ram to the skull, but in general unless someone is caught off guard or can't take a hit there, you can get back up from it. That's not delusional fanboyism talking, that's history and biology.

Austin, dunno why. i remember an interview in a mag a few years back and there was like a top 20 of wrestlers that were said to just not be played with. i remember the top 5 or 6 vaguely but austin, meng and harlem heat were in there

Most wrestlers are just big guys. Big guys the average joe is tiny compared to. Even Jericho, who's 6 ft and between 230 and 250 pounds is huge for his size and despite an occasionally paunchy midsection, is pretty ripped. Punk at 6'1" 215 to 220 isn't exactly little himself. Austin 6'2'' and 230 to 260 is gigantic when you consider that even at the worst of times all the man had was a beer gut, and that was nothing compared to your average couch potato. I'm 6'3'', 280 pounds and I'd have serious reservations about fighting the likes of Kofi or Morrison let alone any of the aforementioned.
And this is before you reach the blatantly/obviously tall and/or muscular guys like Cena, Swagger, Orton, HHH, Rock, Barrett, Del Rio, Zeke and Henry among plenty of others.
And that's before we reach the likes of Taker, Kane, Big Show, Khali and yes, Nash. Naturally, obscenely powerful men who really don't need to put in the gym work of a Cena or Del Rio to have incredible power, (though some do.)
Those are the kinds of size stats you need a huge amount of legitimate skill to beat if you're 5'10'', 170 pounds. I'm talking top-of-the-line boxer, wrestler, or MMA fighter. Experience in legit fights would help as well, and I mean those without rules that don't end with a ref stoppage.
TL;DR, wrestlers are just plain hueg doodz who don't needs tons of skill to beat normal, generally smaller people. That's why someone like Austin is feared. Finlay's feared because dude is one of the most legitimately tough people in the business.

It really depends on the setting. If its something where they're face to face jawing at each other really close, Nash could get a hold of him and f*** him up quite easily, he's just got more power and leverage. If Punk had some space, his quickness could thwart Nash and if Punk could get up under him and get him off his feet, it would be over with.
Damn, this thread makes me really want to see this fight. It would be pretty s***ty but it would just be cool to see if Nash is as badass as he looks and how much of a scrapper Punk is.

Better question: Who would win in a legit fight - a full grown polar bear or an adult male cockfor?

Probably Punk just because he could move faster and bring Nash to his knees with a kick or three.
Hell, if Joey Styles can punch JBL in the face and live to tell about it, I'm sure someone like CM Punk could go up against Nash no problem. lol

Lets see here a normal sized guy who came up a skinny nerd with no fighting experience against a guy with a massive size, weight and experience advantage, but yet the votes side with Punk by a wide margin? Age doesn't matter if you don't know what you're doing, George Foreman is 62 and I bet he would bust everyone's ass that posts here without much effort.

CM Punk without a doubt.
Kevin Nash is slow as f*** as it is, I doubt he can check a leg kick, and two or 3 solid ones will have him keeling over in seconds.
In a post Royce Gracie world, I cant believe people are still convinced thatt size wins every time. Punk is simply in better shape.
