Next week we will witness the trailer!
Can't wait!
Grand Theft Auto V!
I didn't play the last one as it didn't much interest me but I will probably get back into it with this title.
"Jack Slater 4!" jk

Sweet! Now the question is, 2012 or 2013?
If it is 2012, it'll be a fall/holiday release as Max Payne 3 is their early release for 2012.
If it is 2013, then it'll be in early 2013 most likely.
The thing I'm worried about, though, is, open world games have changed quite a bit since GTA4.
I mean we'll have had the inFAMOUS games, Prototype, both Batman games(though Arkham Asylum was only semi open world), Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations, Just Cause 2, Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire, and Saint's Row 2 and 3 all by the time GTA5 drops.
That's a lot of change to the open world formula. GTA5 is going to have a lot to live up to. It's going to honestly have to be more than just the typical GTA game, in my opinion.

Hopefully, this isn't a case of GTA IV where the Expansions are better than the main game.

Rockstar North must have been working on this since Red Dead Redemption. Maybe even before.
LA Noire was made by Team Bondi, and Max Payne 3 is made by many Rockstar divisions but not North who make GTA and RDR.
So they did well to keep this development a secret for the past couple of years.

Hell most gaming journalists and analysts were predicting it would be announced at E3 this year. In other words, GTA5 is one of the worst kept secrets in the gaming industry in recent history.

Hopefully "Saints Row 2/the third" has lit a fire under their arse and made them go back to the fun/Silly GTA of the PS2 days.

Grand Theft Auto IV is one of my top 5 all-time favorite games. If GTA V is anything like the predecessor, then the real question is when can I preorder this game.
Really looking forward to the upcoming trailer.

It's not just the change to open world games that it will need to live up to, it will have a lot to live up to with how awesome Red Dead Redemption is. You better work on another Red Dead after GTA V, Rockstar.

I didn't mean it that way. I was referring to the content. Where is the game going to be set? Who is the protagonist(s)? What will be the game's storyline? Plus I knew V or something was coming when I got that double pack that came with those two DLC packs for GTA IV on PS3. In the Manual that came with it there is a fake ad for something called 'Liberty City, It's Over!' and at the bottom the ad it said 'Next Stop....' *torn page* (looks like some trees in a image at the torn bit)/

This gen it's been all Saints Row IMO. But I'll reserve judgement until I see it/play it myself.
Of course I might forget to check on November 2nd, seeing as how that's my bros 21st birthday, and we're going to Vegas the next day.

As long as it's better than GTA4 I'm fine. GTA4 was "too real" for me at places to stand playing it. I miss the zany cartoony insanity of GTA3, VC, and SA.

I just hope it plays better than GTA4. Saints Row got the controls thing down pat and GTA4 missed the mark there.
Also please less chase missions.
And as far as RDR goes, that was mainly Rockstar San Diego. Rockstar North helped out, but they weren't the main studio.

Maybe a balance, because while I loved GTA4 for it's realism, I did miss some aspects of GTA3 (spawning a tank and just annihilating the city lol).
