It's going up too fast. No one really has had time to react on how they feel about Tensai.

He needs mic time.
I'm sure with a personality the guy could be getting some type of reaction but with no mic time, the fact he hasn't really developed well as a character, he's just getting no time to do anything. We've seen him in Japan, he's a monster, he can speak on the mic and do something but now it's just like I don't know. He can't pull off the dominating heel with how he is.

His matches are boring and slow and there's no reason for anyone to give a crap about him. He's Randy Orton? Haha essentially. But in all seriousness, I think they haven't done anything to give the audience a reason to care about the Tensai character. All we know is the guy went to Japan, embraced the culture, and he's a heel. That's not enough for the audience to feel strongly about the character.

"The undefeated Snitsky." Reminds me of that. Big push. No substance. Good comparison. Reminds me of when Snitsky was announced as Cena's opponent one week, after months and months of building him up, and the crowd was absolutely dead for it.

Was coming in to say something similar. He's got a unique look, a decent moveset (I mark for the mist), and has improved a lot over the years. But random yells and grunts can only take you so far.

I believe that show was in North Carolina, coincidentally.

I dunno what it is about him, but I personally just don't care about him in the least. To be completely fair, I never did when he was Albert either but this just seems to me like a REALLY boring combination of Umaga, Tajiri, and Mark Henry.

boring. I don't buy a big white guy with a Japanese name, that acts Japanese. he's very slow and prodding. he's not intimidating.
Lesnar is intimidating, and looks like he will destroy you. Umaga also looked like a beast. someone you didn't want to mess with. Ryback looks like a destroyer.
Tensai looks like some kind of villain that always loses in kids cartoons.
there's no investment or reason to care about the character. He beat John Cena, but even John Cena didn't really care.

I'm tired of heel foreign gimmicks. Vince seems to think people are interested in Looney Tunes stereotypes from 70 years ago.

The problem with Tensai is they are pushing him way too hard and way too fast. You can't have the guy beating main event talents, even by interference, when the crowd doesn't care less about him. All that's going to do is make them care about the guy even less, possibly even resent him in a turn the channel sort of way.
It'd be one thing if the guy had the crowd booing him vehemently, but they haven't really cared less about the guy. Heck, when he came out last week the crowd was completely silent until John Laurinitis attacked Cena. And this was after he pinned him.
If you can't get a heel over by having him beat not only the face of your company, but also the current WWE champion then I think it's best to cut ballast and start over fresh. Don't get me wrong, I like Albert as a wrestler. He's always been one of my favorites, but if the act isn't working then they seriously need to rethink what they are doing with the guy and starting tweaking things a bit.

Is it safe to call him 2012s Sin Cara?

I truly believe this is the number one problem. A fat guy in short shorts isn't going to be taken seriously as a threat. The Tai Chi moves don't help either.

I like Lord Tensai, and I don't care if he's not over yet, but I think they need to openly acknowledge him as A-Train. I know they've mentioned that he's a former WWE superstar who got big in Japan, but some crowds act like his past is a secret.

I agree with just about everything mentioned, but would like to also add that his music is perhaps the biggest heat killer this side of "YOU CAN LOOK, BUT YOU CAN'T TOUUUUCH!"
Minute Tensai's music hits, I'm looking for the remote. I wonder if anyone ever got a gif of that guy who immediately turned to leave when Ace was announcing Cena's opponent for the PPV and Tensai's music hit. Because that's basically what I felt when I thought that was the match they were going with.
Just let him be Jabba the Hutt, but with the Tony Soprano edge in that he's a high-powered crime lord who takes care of his own business, to boot. This gimmick is just injurious to his success, because he's forced to work such a plodding, uncharismatic style, and he doesn't have that X factor that a guy like The Undertaker had to be able to work that kind of staid old match and still get over.

Honestly, it's a series of factors.
His look isn't really intimidating once the outfit comes off. His style is too slow paced. His finisher is also too slow and requires too much set-up to look truly "devastating." His manager/assistant/follower is essentially useless since they only refer to him as such. His most meaningful move has been kicking John Cena once.
I think a slight tweak to his look could help. Keep the facepaint and all, but get into some longer pants with designs.
Cut out a few moves and set-ups. A quick paced squash that consisted of shoulderblock, corner elbows, slam, senton, pick up into Baldo Bomb, Green Mist Claw might actually keep people from dozing off or playing on their IPhones.
Maybe combo that mist claw into the Baldo Bomb.
More promo time and story discussion to let us know about Sacamoto...whose name I just probably butchered.
Also...something something ruin the Lord Tensai gimmick.

They should change his gimmick to Quan Chi-Chi: leg-ripping Japanese housewife with a powerful manchild for a husband that always leaves "her" to go fight, causing "her" to fly into a rage. She gets angry and that's when the leg-ripping begins. Instead of the green mist, he uses curry powder. Sakamoto will become Tienshinhan Solo: space-traveling, martial artist bounty hunter with 3 eyes.

He's like Umaga, if Umaga wasn't f***ing great. Umaga had some great matches, but he really had a whole lot of crappy ones too. If we're comparing them from debut, at this point, Umaga had killed Ric Flair and squashed Eugene IIRC. Neither was good.
