Wins over Cena and Punk and nobody seems to care. He is close to getting 'go away' heat...
He'll probably be a comedy character before the year is out...

Will Matt Bloom ruin the Lord Tensai gimmick?

How could you possibly know he's close to getting "go away" heat?

They need to bring in Karl Anderson. Bad Intentions or Riot!

We need to face it, to most people in the crowd he's still that guy that teamed with Test and Scotty 2 Hotty.

They're having him do what they think Americans expect from a Japanese wrestler. They basically made a White guy a Japanese stereotype and it ain't flyin'. Let him be the wrestler he naturally is and stop all this Japan bullshit.

Newer fans are probably thinking "why are they pushing this guy?" Older fans are probably thinking "why is Scotty 2 Hotty's old tag partner getting a main event push?"

Apparently everything ruins his career.
I think the problem is they took no time in establishing the character and are having him fight main eventers before anyone feels he deserves to be. Plus is fighting style is really slow and it always drags and kills any excitement his matches might have.

Who would have though a Japanese stereotype wouldn't fly in 2012?

Monster characters are much harder to over these days because many fall into the same generic type and all the new talents get the same style push they do so they don't really stand out. Other than the mist, there's not much about Tensai that's interesting. He's an American guy who adapted a Japanese look and offense, but there's no emotional audience investment in his character either in wanting him to lose or being afraid of him.
These big hoss types must either be scary, hatable, or badass, and Tensai for all the bells and whistles is none of these. Even a promo by his manager or somebody explaining how he discovered that true talent and skill exists only in Japan, and that whether the WWE Universe likes it or not, he'll show them that superiority; would still be better than what we're getting.

yeah he has a crappy gimmick - for one he's not japanese. he has a crappy finish. he has crappy music. the guy can go - no doubt. but the gimmick is just bad.

His matches are boring and slow and there's no reason for anyone to give a crap about him.

Those cheesy looking forearm sleeves look like something a little kid dressing up like a power ranger would wear.

One minor thing that bugs me - the man needs either back tattoos or back hair. As it stands, having his arms, chest, and face covered in things but his back completely bare just looks hideous, and from behind it makes him look like he weighs about 600 pounds.

Reminds me of that. Big push. No substance.
