Wait. Wait. Wait. Does that say Paul Roma fought Pete Doherty? Like the lead singer of baby shambles Pete Doherty? Pete Doherty was lovingly refered to as "The Duke From Dorchester" for about 6 years he was on EVERY show they did around the Boston area, even on Some NESN shows from the Boston Garden he did commentary alongside Gorilla Monsoon. And he was, by far, the worst announcer. No one today can even come close to how damn annoying his voice was.

It kind of puts into perspective how lucky fans are today to at least get a good deal of the main guys at the shows. If they tried to put a kind of card on today that's similar to the one above, the equivalent main event would be Trent Barreta v Sakamoto. yup pretty much, today's equivalent card would look sth like this: Johnny Curtis def. Benicio Salazar Big E Langston def. JTG Mike McGillicutty def. Briley Pierce Yoshi Tatsu def. Tyler Reks Derrick Bateman def. Curt Hawkins Trent Baretta def. Sakamoto not too many draws nowadays on house shows, so I changed that

nah this likely wins it WWF @ Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva College Metheny Fieldhouse - March 9, 1981 The Red Demon pinned Jim Grabmire at 13:02 Dominic DeNucci pinned the Hangman at 14:36 Suzette Ferrera pinned Betty Clark at 10:47 Bill Berger pinned Bill Dixon at 5:37 WWF Tag Team Champions Rick Martel & Tony Garea defeared Baron Mikel Scicluna & Capt. Lou Albano at 15:09 when Martel pinned Scicluna THERE IS NO GOD I don't care what anyone says, outside of a few draws, most WWF cards were filled with crap. I would have rioted if I had gone to this card.

Lou Albano at 15:09 when Martel pinned Scicluna THERE IS NO GOD Few things about this card, coming from a guy who grew up near Geneva College: 1) This was definitely a lower-level house show. Metheny Fieldhouse isn't all that big. 2) The Red Demon, Jim Grabmire, Baron Mikel Scicluna and Dominic Denucci were regulars of Bruno Sammartino's Studio Wrestling show/promotion. It only makes sense that they would be featured on a show like this. They probably got some talent from Three Rivers Wrestling, the promotion run by WWF jobber/bonafide Pittsburgh legend Ken Jugan (aka Lord Zoltan and Zoltan the Great). 3) Bill Dixon and Bill Berger were from the Pittsburgh area as well. I wouldn't be surprised if both men, along with the few others I've never heard of, were trained by either Denucci or Jugan. 4) Judging by my research, Jim Grabmire's nickname was "The Hangman." So unless he pulled double duty that night, someone else played the Hangman character. (My guess would be Jugan.) ...So really, this was less of a "WWF house show" and more of a Studio Wrestling reunion show. With that in mind, it really isn't all that bad of a card.

Here's another option I found: WWF @ Warwick, RI - July 28, 1995 (1,500) Skip defeated Aldo Montoya Jean Pierre Lafitte defeated Duke Drose Razor Ramon defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley via count-out The Smoking Gunns defeated Jacob & Eli Blu Bob Backlund defeated Man Mountain Rock Savio Vega defeated Hakushi King Mabel defeated Bam Bam Bigelow Mabel vs Bigelow aws the main event? god I hope not. A trash man, cowboys, a main mountain rock, and a guy with a jock strap on his head. thrilling stuff.
