What a farce this is. Well at least England and the Under 21's have had an eventful night.
I expect to see a gif of that ref throwing the ball around the pitch at some point.

far too late to close the roof, should have been done hours ago, but thanks apparently to UEFA officials being too slow .....

The games off now, what a ridiculous situation, feel sorry for those fans waiting in the stadium.

Poor Danny Rose. No one should have to be subjected to that kind of abuse.

far too late to close the roof, should have been done hours ago, but thanks apparently to UEFA officials being too slow ..... They should have known there were downpours in the area. Yes, there would have been a lot of standing water on the pitch but if they had closed the roof, it woudl have stopped any more rain getting on the pitch (eventually). Then the drainage and heating could have worked with Stewards brushing the excess water off the pitch. The rain started pelting down at 1930GMT, so they had plenty of time. The kick-off would have been delayed but the match would have gone ahead. Of course, this is all moot as apparently it takes 24 hours notice to close the roof. What a moronic situation. What's the point of having a roof like that?

Great result by Northern Ireland tonight, holding the 3rd best team in the world (Portugal) to a 1-1 draw away. Worth it just for the look of disappoinment on Ronaldo's face at the end.

can't believe i'm disappointed that we only drew. watching us play is mental, can't do anything against smaller teams but put us against the best in the world and we can give anyone a game. Azerbijan up next - que unexpected defeat after we expect to walk it.

Well Scotland's qualifying campaign over in record time
I know it isn't the best squad we've ever had and to be fair no-one really expected anything against Belgium but the from the other 3 game we could have been sitting on the 5 - 7 point mark
Levein can go on about how we're making progress but 3 years on and I'd say we're even further back from where we were when he took over

Canada could have made the hex for the first time in a long time with a win or a draw. There was big talk of Canada actually making the World Cup as this was their best team EVER.
They lost 8-1 at Honduras.

And right after I finish writing that, the US defense shits the bed. 1-0 Guatemala.
America needs a win, a draw or hope Jamaica doesn't make up a 3-goal differential to advance to the hex. Same with Guatemala.

Dempsey and Eddie Johnson are on FIRE tonight. 2 goals and 1 assist for Demps already. 3-1 America.
Jamaica are up 2-0 in their game. Right now Jamaica is through.

The hex is set. USA, Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama and Honduras. Top three go to Brazil 2014 and 4th place plays New Zealand for a spot next November.
