A legdrop is only an effective finsher if you're Hulk Hogan. It for whatever reason never worked for the nearly 600 lb Yokozuna. (Yes, the Bonzai is his real finisher, but you're telling me a legdrop from him never pinned anyone? King of the Ring '93, Yokozuna pinned Hulk Hogan with the legdrop to win the WWF World Heavyweight Title.

two people mentioned the contract signing, i didnt want two, the best though which is worse than two wrestlers not from america and the crowd chanting usa is when there are two wrestlers from america and the crowd starts chanting usa. Did anyone notice in the rumble when Psicosis was fighting Rey at the start, the crowd was doing Eddie chants for Rey, despite the fact Psi was wearing an EG armband as well. Before a wrestler attempts to end a wrestlers career by putting him through the announce table (Which at PPV's is always the one belonging to the Spanish team) they will have the decency to remove the TV's and equipment to save thousands of dollars worth of damages. When a wrestler throws another one off the stage, there is always a pile of tables or unused electronical equipment to break the fall. Ref's trust heels.

It worked ONCE, (and that was after Hogan was hit in the face with a fireball. Still, Yoko did it every match and it failed 99% of the time

When guest-commentating a number-one contender's match, a heel will always answer that they don't care who wins when asked who they'd prefer to fight in their big match. Booker T did this on SD - just for once it would have been great if he'd said something like "Orlando Jordan, so I can beat him quicker than Benoit did."

Every foreigner wrestler is evil.
French=cocky, borderline effeminate Italian=mafia guy/generic sicilian stereotype Russian=comrade British=badass or snob Japanese=silent karate guy Samoan=savage
Even Canadians fall into some sort of derogatory categorization (after Montreal 97?).

If you're sick of not getting a world title shot, here's what you do. 1) Take a year-long vacation 2) Return and hit the current champion with a chair 3) Instant Number 1 Contender
No matter WHAT a heel does to you (burn your house down, beat up your family, kill your kid)... rather than seek legal means to put him in jail to pay his debt to society. As long as you're a face, ALL disputes can be settled in the ring. Because winning their title more than makes up for the fact that you no longer have a house, a family, or a child.
The reason moves like The People's Elbow, The Worm and The Five Knuckle Shuffle are so effective, is because everyone knows... running around and doing a little dance before a simple punch or elbow... makes it hurt way worse.
Everyone respects Flair.... unless they feud with them. Then they never respected him.
Two words: "Retirement Match"
Singlets do not have straps.. rather, they have "Momentum Limiters." For only when those straps are taken down can the wrestlers become fully unleashed.
The women's division frequently has to start over, due to firings, injuries, or whatever other reason. A new crop of women will be brought in, and everyone will groan at how annoying and pointless all these new, untalented women are. However, over time... these same women will start to grow on the general populous... they will practise their skills, and eventually become somewhat decent in the ring or on the mic or whatever they're used for. However, as soon as the women's division starts gaining a hint of respectability back.... here comes Mae Young.
When a heel cheats, he's "a dastardly son of a bitch" who "stole the victory." When a face cheats he's "giving payback" or "taking matters into his own hands."
Whenever two faces are in the main event for a PPV. They will ALWAYS end up teaming together a week or two beforehand. In or before that match, they will ALWAYS have a disagreement, and it will ALWAYS include the following line from a commentator: "Can they get on the same page?"
Offensive = Good

90% of the time when a heel has to defend his title on Raw/Smackdown, he acts shocked/offended.
Whenever a new heel debuts on Smackdown, he will squash either Funaki or Scotty Too Hotty
Whenever a heel debuts on Raw, he will squash Val Venis

- If a wrestler on the top rope loses his balance due to his opponent shaking the ropes, he will always get crotched on the corner or ropes, never falling in or out of the ring. - Speaking of top ropes, there will be at least one wrestler in a battle royal or royal rumble who will climb the top rope like an idiot. Said idiot will be eliminated when somebody knocks him off the top rope. - A wrestler who loses a "loser must retire" match never honors the stipulation and stays retired. - At the end of a strap match, one wrestler will tag the first 3 corners while his opponent follows from behind and tags them as well, setting up the "epic" battle to tag the last corner. - Women can never be trusted. Sooner or later, a valet will eventually leave her man and align herself with his enemy.

This thread is HILARIOUS. I have a few to add:
1) If a heel is showing footage to brag about how he won a match, kicked someone's ass, etc., and then a face comes out and has footage shown from THE EXACT SAME EVENT that shows the heel cheating to win or getting his ass kicked, the heel will act SHOCKED that the face somehow got his hands on that footage.
2) Interview segments (Highlight Reel, Cabana, etc) must always, always, always end in a brawl during which most or all of the props from said segment are destroyed and/or used as weapons.
3) Amazingly, matches never end during a commercial break.
4) The heel's least favorite sports team just happens to be the one that resides in the city that he is currently performing in.

But if a match ended during the commercial that would be kind of dumb.

But if a match ended during the commercial that would be kind of dumb. Yes, obviously. The point is that from a kayfabe and realism standpoint, it's an awfully big coincidence that it never happens.

really great thread guys I know this is probaly going to be considered a dumb comment but isn't the purpose of removing the tv monitors and cables from the annouce table before putting an opponent through it to prevent personal injury and also prevent hurting the opponent...bc they could easily land with a forehead on the edge of a monitor and get busted open for real?

- When said monitors are removed, the commentators "can't see what's going on" as soon as the wrestler's re-enter the ring, despite being only 10 feet away.

Whenever there's a heel ref angle, the heel ref is never suspended even though he screws with matches ever week for like 3 months
