Cant get worked up about some isolated incident. Plenty of wealthy people are generous with their money. This has nothing to do with "class warfare." People are reaching for something thats not there just to start shit. The "get a real job" note was uncalled for but it did make me chuckle.

Further proof that Lucy Lawless is awesome, rich guys are pricks and bankers can't do proper math.

While that guy is an asshole if he in fact wrote that stuff on the receipt, it's a free country and he can tip whatever he feels the service merits.

Hope he doesn't eat there again anytime soon. They're going to f*** with his food big time. Most restaurants pool their tips, so you're screwing over the people who cook your food, too. They don't take kindly to that.

It sounds like the customer was insulted by the waiter.

Someone actually citing this as "class warfare" cracked me up.
Dick move by him, but tipping isnt compulsory.

Its not some kind of referendum on society like how they want to imply it is.

Hell, in some places (Australia for instance), tipping is actually considered as being an insult and a form of social inequality because it makes it seem like the tipper just feels pity towards the waiter for not having as much as he does.

The tip wasn't what irritated me, it was his ignorant comment. If every waiter/waitress had gotten a 'real job', the restaurant wouldn't exist, and the miserable fool would have to cook himself something.

I'm sure the service was bad. No one could be that much of an asshole.

According to the site that put this up (which has since been taken down) the guy who did this acts like this to everyone he feels is lower than him, apparently. Still, yeah, not everyone who has money is a douchebag to others. This is an isolated incident.

If every waiter/waitress had gotten a 'real job', the restaurant wouldn't exist, and the miserable fool would have to cook himself something. Agreed. That was absolutely uncalled for and horrible. Maybe she can't get a real job, and maybe she can't get a real job due to the crappy economy directly caused by people of his ilk. I'm not going to talk about "class warfare" or say that all rich people are pricks (I teach some rich people at my work, and while they can be a little...eccentric and colorful, they're perfectly fine people). But attitudes like the one this banker show absolutely should earn all the scorn they deserve.

I'm much more fascinated by this from the comments section:
"Get a real job....this is what cracks me up about people's views on being a server. I am a server in California. I work in a tiny cafe with 13 tables. I work from 7am to 1 pm 5 days a week. The min. wage in California is 8.00 an hour, which sucks. But...I average 120.00 a day in tips, usually more. On Saturdays, I make 175.00 to 200.00. I usually stop taking tables around noon. So in 5 hours, I've made say...100.00 on a slow day, plus say, 7.75 an hour after taxes. That is 27.75 on a SLOW day! On Saturdays, say I make 175.00 in tips, plus the hourly wage, I've made 42.75 an hour!! My sisters are both nurses and have been for about 20 years, and I make as much, if not more than them! Most servers don't have insurance though, so thank goodness I am covered on my husband's insurance. I also get out of work early enough everyday to get my kids from school. I absolutely love my job and all of my customers! I was actually a registered dental assistant for 10 years and went back to serving because the hours were better and I made double the money!"

I'm sure the service was bad. No one could be that much of an asshole. I think this whole societal issue is in light of the fact that, yeah, people CAN be that much of an asshole, and they get away with it because they have the money to do so.
